Minutes of May 2008 Meeting
The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm on May 12, 2008, by President, Mary Lou Bruggeman.
The members present approved the minutes of the April meeting.
In the absence of Treasurer Colleen Holt, Mary Lou read the Treasurer’s report which ws approved by those present. Current membership is 60 members.
Children’s Haven Room Decorating- Work day May 3rd went very smoothly thanks to the advance planning by Mary Lou. A slide show of the work in progress, and the finished room was on display at the meeting. Mary Lou reported that the carpet is scheduled to be cleaned on Tuesday for $70, which includes scotchgard.
Autocross/Car Show- Phil Rankin reported that the OMRSCCA group said they would do the autocross with us if they got all the registration monies, we get the workers, and pay for all the expenses (getting the trailer here, refreshments, lot rent, advertising, etc.). It was decided by those present that this would be too expensive if we do not receive a portion of the income from the event.
Calendar Sales net profits to date $314.25. A few calendars are still available from Mary Lou.
Thursday Eating Group (now to be called the Thursday Dinner Club) Since the last club meeting, the group has eaten at Dusty’s BBQ, Quincy Magoo’s. and Red, Hot & Blue. This Thursday we will be going to Rib Crib @7pm.

Hot Springs Weekend Attended by Sinclairs and Dennetts. Abbi reported a fun time
BBQ, Brats, & Beer 12 member cars Trophies were won by Morgan Shumny, Art & Joyce Marker, and Bruce & Diana Layman. Morgan also won a 2nd trophy for Ladies Choice.
MOKAN Fun Run Mike Shumny and Phil Rankin ran with times ranging from 12:04 to 12:88. Charlie Holt had a bad night with the clutch trouble on his first run which put him out of the running. The group went to eat dinner in Pittsburg following the runs.

Rebels Cruise Night @ Miami 10 cars participated
New Calendar Bruce will be doing the calendar with members to sell the ads. Ad money needs to be turned in at the next meeting so that the calendars can be ready for our weekend event in August. Ads will again sell for $125. Advertisers will receive 20 calendars per paid ad. Pictures for the calendar will be taken June 7th on our dinner cruise. Members please plan to attend.
Bruce presented the proposal for the club sponsoring/hosting a corvette weekend “Vettes in the Midwest, Kickin’ it on Route 66” to be held on August 15-16-17th at John Q. Hammons. See the website [url]www.vettesinthemidwest.com[/url] for details. Friday night will be registration, free meal by Logan’s Roadhouse and cruise to the 66 Drive In movie. Saturday will be golf tournament, loudest exhaust contest, Poker Run, Cruise down 66 to Miami for a tour of Coleman theatre, indoor car show, vendors, banquet and dance. Sat. will be open to the public. Registration is $75 single, $100 couple. Rooms at Holiday Inn at special rate of $66. Goodie bags. All contests have trophies and cash prizes. Those members who work at assigned jobs (a few are available, so call Bruce) will eat at the banquet free. Those members not working can pay ˝ price, $26.50 per couple. This event is partnered with Public TV KOZJ, Bruce also reported that he promised KOZJ that the profit would be split 50/50 and that we will donate 20% to Children’s Haven. Mike Shumny made the motion to have the club do the event as presented with Bruce in charge. The second was made in unison by Bill Adams and Art Marker. Motion passed by a unanimous vote of those present. Joyce Marker made a motion that the club buy the remaining koozies from John Holt (approx. 100) to be our item for the goodie bags. Joyce Adams seconded. Motion passed.
