Minutes of February 2008 Meeting
The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm on February 12, 2008, by President, Mary Lou Bruggeman.

The members present approved the minutes of the January meeting.

Treasurer Colleen Holt reported a beginning balance of $7791.11 and an ending balance of $7896.93; this included the Children's Haven fund of $1794.82, and available funds of $6102.11. Current membership is 55 members. Calendar net profit is currently at $290.25 with calendars still available for sale.

Committee Reports:
Valentine Party Need to pay tonight. There will be a cash bar, dancing, and karoke.

Old Business:
Mary Lou reported talking with the director of Children’s Haven and they have a room selected for us to decorate. Mary Lou estimates it will cost approximately $1200 and that the mattresses do not need replaced not the flooring. Diana Layman made a motion which was seconded by John Holt to decorate the room. Motion passed. Marla Snead made a motion to use money from the general funds to pay for this project. The motion died for a lack of a second. Diana Layman made a motion seconded by Jeff Bruggeman to use the allotted Children Haven fund to pay for the project. Motion passed.

Joplin Globe/Children’s Haven John Holt made a motion seconded by Kenny Snead to put an ad in the Joplin Globe for the Children’s Haven insert. Motion passed. Mike Turner made a motion seconded by Gary McKeehen to do the ¼ page ad at a cost of approximately $175. Motion passed. Gary McKeehen mad a motion seconded by Mike Turner that the cost of the ad be taken from the general club funds. Motion passed.

Memphis Cruise - Marla Shumny reported on the Memphis trip and Mary Lou will resend the email with the motel information.

New Business
Mary Lou reported that there are several events coming up on our events calendar.

K. Goertz B-day Cruise Feb. 23rd
KC Auto Show March 9th
Autocross/Car Show We were hoping to have one in April. John Holt is to get with Phil Rankin and check out the Crowder location. Jeff Bruggeman is going to talk to his friend who is renting the old Consumers location. Firestone has expressed interest in sponsoring the July 19th one with a car show.
Corvettes for a Cure Bruce reported on this event in Hutchinson, MN on May 30 thru June 1 and he has the info for anyone interested as well as he will send out an email. The website is [url]www.prorivercorvettes.com.[/url]

Past Events:
Thursday Eating Club Since the last club meeting, the group has eaten at Johnny Carinos, Rib Crib, Logan’s Roadhouse, and Timberline Steakhouse. There is a schedule available of planned locations for February and March.

Bruce Layman reported on the Super Bowl party. Too much food, good game and 14 atttended.

John Holt reported on the Will Rogers Museum cruise to Claremore and dinner at Hammet House. Seven club cars.

Memphis Cruise—Feb. 14-15-16th Marla Shumny has some motel info and will continue checking. Group plans to leave after work on Fri. Come home on Sunday after breakfast
Goodman Car Show Mar. 29th? We are not sure this is the right date yet.

Marla Shumny reported that they had a new car. 2008 white coupe with black interior and that their 99 is for sale but they have someone interested possibly.
