OK, this may be a little too 'techie' for a lot of the folks out there, but if ANYONE knows ANYTHING about swapping out the dual mass flywheel and clutch from an LT4 for a conventional setup (single mass flywheel w/dual mass clutch plate), let's talk. Maybe your aunt's second cousin's daughter's stepfather used to own a Grand Sport and claims he got his clutch replaced in Mexico by a bastard child of Zora Duntov. Doesn't matter if it's a valid lead. The Corvette forums I've seen so far are a little vague about whether or not this a good idea. The clutch I have now is starting to show its age and you can NOT machine a DM flywheel; they HAVE to be replaced. AND, new ones are nearly $1000 a pop...that's right...JUST the flywheel. Conventional billet aluminum flywheels with a CenterForce clutch kit can be had for a total of 2/3 that amount. You can see why I'm asking around...
Lookin' for FTD (no, not the flowers)...
