This is a really great instrumental cover of Cut the Cake by Slewfoot (first time I've heard this as an instrumental - AWB, maybe a version like this in one of your next sets?):

While we're all anxiously awaiting news of tour dates, here's a suggestion for Klyde's replacement, which we're also waiting to hear about. Don't know if this guy can sing, but he can do most everything else:

Nice version.

Speaking of "more straightforward" versions, I think these two clips are great, but I'm not sure if the rehearsal isn't cooler than the live version:

Much of this track was recorded in my bedroom (ooh Matron) . Thats my Fender Rhodes right there! One day we'll tune it!

LOL Mark... But you fail to mention it was only you and Terry in the bedroom... I was recording my vocals in another city... ;-)

Ahem, sorry for being a pain - I took down the "Cloudy" video from youtube due to another cover of mine being complained about (copyright claim despite the original artist knowing about the cover and giving their blessing!))... This resulted in a strike against my account and a "not in good standing" account status.

>:-/

So, I decided not to have any covers on youtube at all. However, I have got it on soundcloud here: http://soundcloud.com/sarahotoolemu...ic/cloudy-cover

Interesting responses recently to former members of our illustrious band covering that famous number.

Here's a cover from the era by Willis Jackson, also from the Atlantic label:

For all the decent covers there are of PUTP, none of the guitarists can make that opening chord sound the way Onnie can!

Better that I thought it would be, but very little emotion in the vocals. Horns are good though.

This group - North Tower, named after a portion of Old East dorm at the University of North Carolina - actually had a regional Beach Music hit with this AWB song.
