Allan and Onnie obviously have work to do. So what do you reckon is going on? Here are a few options:
* Alan and Onnie announce retirement from gigging.
* They are about to extend their working arrangement with Brent Carter and Mo Pleasure.
* They have found a new pup and are training him/her up?
* They are about to announce selected gigs with special guest, Hamish Stuart.
My wish would be for the second option, but I realise that wouldn't be the most popular choices. Any other ideas? The sillier the better!

hello, new post. I saw awb in pittsburgh in october 2011 at the alter bar. after the show I had a picture that was taken of gorrie, onie and roger ball, circa 1980;s I gave the picture to gorrie, and he threw it down, I then showed it to onie who said wow, he was nice and shook my hand. I have supported the awb since 1975 as a 17 year old, saw them many times in pittsburgh and once in the house of blues in cleavend. gorrie is not real. he needs to know that if it was not for the people in pittsburgh and around the country, his gig would be up.

Gotta say Mr Gorrie has always been a perfect gentleman whenever we have exchanged a few brief words. As band leader he's a busy man and perhaps has less time to chat than the rest of the band.

hello richard, i have to disagree, gorris, clyde, rocky, onie and fred were all standing there waiting to sign awb stuff which from what i saw no one was buying, kind of sad that it is all about the $. anyway, the awb is scheduled to play in pittsburgh on june 2, 2012, i'll not be there. they need to retire to the bonny banks of scottland.

A lot of us here....have had about 40 laa---hong years...of exactly the opposite behavior from this band and its leader. Thousands on thousands of meet and greets, discussions and time and effort spent by this band. I think Ill base my opinions on that extraordinary..extraordinary record. Im up for more.

Certainly not my experience of Alan. I have had the good fortune to meet all of the band post gig and Alan has been exceptionally polite andtotally appreciative of the fans. As they all have!

hello whitebandit, maybe you are correct, i'll give him a pass, however, the band who proceeded the averagewhiteband, produced more cheers then them, maybe he was mad at the outcome.

Agree totally with Harry, as an "about 40 laa---hong years" AWB follower, I've had nothing but politeness when I've had the chance to meet the band, especially those rare occasions in the 70s and 80s.

If Onnie is reading this he might remember two or three of us buttonholing him at The Assembly Rooms in Derby during the "Around the World in 80" tour and, even though he was due on stage any time, he still took the time to talk with us and sign my poster, which I still have.
