Posted October 4th, 2010 04:45 PM IP I'm new to the club and wanted to ask a question about target bases about what is the easiest and cheapest to use? PVC to me does not seem like it would be heavy enough to keep it from blowing over. Wood requires some type of metal to hold it together and to be portable.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, not rich and not a builder.
Thanks in Advance

Posted October 4th, 2010 07:12 PM IP Even our steel bases will blow over.
In your other thread about this, Vern provided a photo of a PVC setup.
It is possible to add weight to the base sections by adding sand. Pack rags to seal the inner ends that connect and PVC caps to cap the outer ends.
Of course, that can make it heavy enough that it comes apart when carrying it. Mike Earls

What I did to keep the target holder and frame from blowing over was take some 1/4 “ rod and made a J type device that is driven in the ground with the short part of the J going over the cross piece that you see in the picks I posted.
Something like this.
