My name is Jeff Lester. I live in Baytown and am a mechanical engineer working at the ExxonMobil Baytown refinery. I'm a 45 year old dad to two great kids. Love to build stuff with my hands... welding, machining, woodworking (the rough carpentry sort), etc. Like to tinker. Just like my son, I had/have that box of stuff from things I'd taken apart. Like racing and anything offroad. If it's got a motor, I'm there. Like to fish, especially fly fishing, but never seem to have time. Couldn't live without my tools... and guns, of course. Been to some firearms training courses, and have others planned this year to take. Hope to hit it hard next year in IDPA and NRA High Power. Oh yeah... I LOVE TO SHOOT!

Since I've been nominated in the upcoming Board election, I thought I'd bump this thread. The only thing I'd like to add is my gun competition interests have been changed/influenced by a group of action pistol/rifle/shotgun shooters at BASC. I currently shoot a variety of action pistol and carbine matches sanctioned by USPSA and IDPA, and do not plan to shoot High Power or IDPA pistol anytime soon.
Oh yeah... when I have time, I love to shoot on Sundays. The Sunday bunch are a good group of guys. Our informal competitions are a blast.

I'll second what Dave said!
Jeff you would make a heck of a board member. With your combat shooting experience and the many different ranges you shoot at you would bring a wealth of knowledge to the club.
