Lived in Baytown all my life
Actually belonged to the range across from HL&P before I went to the Marines...came back and it was gone!
Working on getting back on this range!

Welcome and thank you for your service! I thought that tag (AVG) was some Naval Department acronym but it’s been too long in the past to remember what exactly!

Actually its the AVG American volunteer Group FG15 (Fighter Group 15) out of China during WWII...the Warhawk is the plane they flew. (AKA the Flying Tigers)

AVG-American Volunteer Group.
Damn, I stepped in it again! But I was close. They shot guns so that makes them righteous folks in my books!
Curtis P40 was one fine bird. The town where I grew up had Naval Air Stations on two sides with Tinker AF Base about 25 miles north. As a small kid I used to be fascinated by seeing all the military aircraft doing flight training around me.
