Howdy.

First order of business is an apology for not introducing myself before jumping into a couple conversations. Mea culpa...

Name's Jon and yes, I'm an honest-to-goodness Pale Rider preacherman. Well...not quite Pale Rider - no CHL... yet. Might not make the February class, but hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get started toward that piece of plastic.

Been shooting since I was 8 - a fateful day when Dad took me out to the pasture with his Winchester 250 .22 lever action and let me shoot lightbulbs. It was love at first "pop." Love pistol shooting (*LOVE* the 1911) and have just gotten into the world of the AR. I reload pistol, and guess I'll have to start for .223/5.56 also.

You'll sometimes see me at the range in my clerical shirt. Makes for interesting conversation starters... Don't worry, though - I leave the alb, cassock & surplice at church. Too hot in the summer and they blow around too much in the winter.

Y'all take care...

Welcome Jon, we are glad to have ya.

With this crowd ( mostly Jerry ) we could durn shure use a chaplain! Official Chaplain of the BASCRRC.........has a ring to it........I like it, might just work out, for Jerry's sake anyway.

Funny how most of us got started the same way, Dad or Grandad and a .22 sure brings back some of the best memories of much simpler times.

The thoughts and opinions expressed by me here on this forum are IN NO WAY to be taken as the policy of BASC nor or they to be taken as the opinion of the BASC Board of Directors. They are as they have always been, MY OPINIONS AND THOUGHTS ONLY- Jim

The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.

Yes sir, shootin' with the preacher. Sounds good to me.
Maybe you can help Jerry with his "potty mouth".

Looks like a whole rack full of well seasoned cast iron camp cookware.
