Francisco “Frank” Lerma

Francisco “Frank” Lerma, 70, of Baytown was born November 23, 1939 in Lyford, TX and passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #278. He was a U. S. Army veteran and member of the Bay Area Shooting Club. Before retiring from the Baytown ExxonMobil refinery, he was an Assistant Fire Chief with the City of Baytown and a past President of the International Association of Firefighters local in Baytown. He enjoyed reading, especially westerns, military history and history in general.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelio and Concepcion Lerma and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maggie Lerma of Baytown; sons and daughter-in-law, Frank Dale Lerma of Houston and Mark and Vicki Lerma of Sierra Vista, AZ; twin daughters, Zynette Lerma and Deanette Lerma, both of Baytown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Lerma of Lyford, Felipe and Connie Lerma of Raymondville, Juan and Bernie Lerma of San Antonio and Delfino Lerma of Kentucky; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha and Santos Camacho of Lyford and Nina Lerma, Lupe Lovato and Tammy Lerma, all of San Antonio; grandchildren and their spouses, Amber and Ivan Santiago and Andy and Kyle Kramer, all of Sierra Vista, AZ and Angela Joy and Josh Hines of Belgium; great granddaughter, Haley Grace Kramer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lupe and Gavino Hernandez of Riviera; and several nieces and nephews and Godchildren.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina Ave., Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Dwight Canizares officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Allen, Eddie Longoria, Sam Guerrero, Raymond Badeaux, Richard Salinas and Gavino Hernandez.
