[[ Alrighty I'll get it started then, my Edward ]]

Bella made her way to her truck after school. She could feel the mist of rain coming soon, so she decided to make a run for it, although she was too late, she wasn't in short notice of Edward waiting for her, already in the drivers seat of her truck.

"Get out Edward, you know I'm perfectly capable of driving." She said, opening the driver's side door. She tapped her foot on the pavement to show him her impatience, and that she wasn't willing to argue with him.

"It's about to rain, may I please get in." She asked, attempting to shove him aside, but his marble like body didn't move an inch. She sighed in impatience and tried again, but still he didn't move an inch.

"Fine!" She yelled, closing the door with a slam, walking over to the passenger's side. "Edward, you know I don't need to be taken care of all the time."

Bella was then silent. Waiting for his response, but all he did was look at her, so she had nothing to do but the same. She could stare into his chocolate brown eyes for an eternity, but sadly it wouldn't be enough for her. All she's ever wanted was to be with him, even when she didn't realize it, she knew he had been waiting for her his whole life. Hearing the engine roar snapped her out of her daze, back to her perfect reality.

"Where do you need to take me? Why can't I drive?" She began, with so many other questions in the back of her head.

Edward had been waiting for her already. He had that habit of always being somewhere extremely fast, especially since the school’s bell had rang nearly minutes before. But he liked that. And as she made her way in his direction, his dark, hungry eyes were fixed on her from the driver‘s seat of her truck. It had been a few days he had not fed, and he was starting to long for the taste of human blood again…

As she spoke, his expression remained the same, hard and unaffected. It was his job to protect her. He had taken that vow officially when he saved her the day Tyler Crowley nearly killed her.

His dark eyes stayed on her, obviously in no mood to argue either.

Eventually, she gave into letting him drive, knowing there was no physical way to move him herself. He flashed a quick crooked smile before his gaze wondered away from her. Turning the key of the old truck, the engine roared to life. It was then that the air conditioning blew her scent in his direction. He inhaled, shutting his eyes to take in the arousing floral scent as he pulled out of the parking space and behind the line of cars that were bound to exit the grounds. He had to resist his temptation. He longed for her. And he wanted to kill her.

His gaze stayed fixed on the car in front of him, cold and bleak. He knew he had to take her home immediately. Carlisle had warned him of this and he knew he would not be able to resist for long. . .

“Does it matter?” he eventually snapped, his cold hands gripping the wheel of the truck forcefully as he turned the corner away from school. Just then he punched the accelerator to the ground, the needle of the speedometer quickly rising in speed. Edward knew she was not fond of his driving, but this time it was for her own good. Being careful not to look at her, he then spoke.

"I am leaving, Bella. For a while."

She felt Edward accelorate, and she braced herself. She's gotten used to the speed, just not the surprise.

Bella's eyes widend at his remark. Thinking of the last time he's said this to her. The hole in her stomach had been stabbed slightly. She was still recovering from his loss not too long ago.

"What do you mean you're leaving?" She asked, in a light whisper. She tried to hide the sadness in her voice, but after hearing it, she knew she hadn't succeded.

Looking into his eyes, she saw the darkness of them, not a good idea for her to be around him while he's thirsty. Perhaps this was the reason he needed to leave. She knew he always needed to be filled so the temptation isn't too sweet.

"Oh," She said lowly. "I see. Well how long will you be gone?" She hesitated for his answer, hoping it wouldn't be for days.

"I should probably get home. Charlie isn't going to cook dinner himself." She lied. She knew perfectly well he could cook a meal, or heat it up. But she loved taking care of her father. And she knew he didn't mind it either.

Edward grew increasingly stiff as he drove, averting his face from Bella’s direction. With one hand on the steering wheel of her truck, he then placed the other into a pale, balled fist under his nose.

‘It’s better if we’re not friends’ had been his exact warning, as he recalled. But it was too late now. She was too involved, and quite frankly, he hated being away from her. Bella was everything to him now. His life. And though his ‘sister’ Rosalie did not want it so, the rest of the Cullen’s knew what happiness she brought to him--it was too late to turn back.

His coal eyes stayed fixed on the road as the vehicle came to an abrupt stop into her driveway. Edward couldn’t speak, much less answer her question. Anything would drive him over the edge, and the last thing he wanted was to regret his actions. Quickly, he was out of the car and opening her door before she had noticed they had arrived. The fresh, moist air alleviated some of the hunger, but it wouldn’t last. Closing the door behind her, he briskly walked down her driveway. Edward knew she’d understand, but it killed him to leave her in the middle of her driveway, and in the rain without so much as a goodbye.

He felt a sudden urge of anger. He resented what he was--an immortal monster--and he vowed never to give her the same fate. Someone as beautiful, as delicate and pristine as his Bella did not deserve to endure the atrocity of his kind, no matter how many times she asked him for it. And every time she did, he would not falter. His mind had been made up.

---------------------

Two days seem to drag, even for someone who was not affected by the subject of time. Much to his luck, mountain lions were plentiful during the January to March season, so his thirst had been well quenched. Upon his arrival, he would have Bella to look forward to.

The drive to her residence was a short one. He was eager to see her again now that the darkness from under his eyelids had subsided and his eyes had returned to their almost natural state of honey bronze. Honking the horn of his silver Volvo, he waited for her to notice his presence.

Bella's door opened before she expected it. Edward was right at her side to help her out. Surprising her every time. She loved it though. Spending time with him was more precious than life itself. As she had said before 'I'd rather di than be away from you.' was very true.

While he walked her to the driveway, the rain began falling harder now, larger drops falling in every direction. She noticed how quiet he was being, but she also noticed his tense body, and cleched fists. She knew this would be a short good-bye, but she loved every minute of it, grasping in the moment, before it would vanish.

And just like that he was gone, and she was standing on her drive way alone. She walked into her house with heavy feet, with nothing but the hope of knowing he would return soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
School dragged on for a few long days. And after ever day she hoped to see him waiting by her truck, but was disapointed everytime. She made her way to her truck to start it, and suddenly she heard a honk. The honk scared the the blood out of her face, she droped her keys under her seat, frantic to find them so she could see where the sound came from. Finding them, she looked up quickly, suddenly bumping her head on the dash.
"Ow." She said, holding her forehead, looking up. She saw Edward's volvo waiting a few spots away from where she had parked. Hoping he didn't see her, she climbed out of her truck, injury throbing she tried not to show it.
She opened the passenger door, no longer holding her head and climbed in without word, with nothing but a smile on her face.
Edward had clearly seen her bump her head against the dashboard of her truck and managed to chuckle a little under his breath. He couldn’t leave her alone in Forks for more than two days without her finding one way or another to hurt herself. But that was just the way she was, his dear Bella. She was clumsier than a drunk leaving a bar at 3 am. His honey eyes watched as she climbed into his car and a crooked smile appeared on his rosy lips. She knew the routine. Edward would have Alice drop her truck off at her house before they got back.
“I’ve been only gone for two days and you can’t manage to stay out of trouble,” he teased, shifting the car into drive. Speeding out of the school, he then turned onto the main road. His eyes immediately glanced over to her. “Do you feel ok?” It was his obligation to ask. Edward took his responsibilities seriously when it came to her, and now that he was feeling at ease to be around her, it would not stop him from being his usual self. His eyes stayed on her, filled with real concern. He was so good of a driver that he needed not pay much attention to the road ahead, and where one would take concern for their safety, Bella was experienced.
He waited for an answer.
If she was not feeling well, then he would certainly take her back to her house. Edward had planned to take her out, but he did not want to jeopardize her safety. He missed her, but he was not foolish enough to sacrifice her for his pleasure. There would be other days they could spend time together and he even pondered staying with her a while if he did have to take her back.
“Should I take you to Charlie’s then?” he asked, before looking back at the road. He was headed in that direction anyway.
Bella's eyes looked over to Edward's. They were their normal beautiful shade of honey. She smiled after he made her favorite crooked smile.
"You saw that?" She asked, wishing he hadn't. She was probably the most clumsiest girl in Forks, but she had the best protector of them all. And she knew he lived by that. She missed him, she hated laying her bed alone with out his coold body next to her. She had grown used to him being with her every night. She hated it while he was gone, even though it was for the best.
She would lay in bed and dream about becoming a vampire and hunting with them. It would be the best thing in the world to spend an eternity with the one she loved.
Hearing Edward's sweet voice snapped her out of her daze. Catching the words she shook her head.
"No, I feel fine, and I don't want to go back to Charlie's." She said. "Did you have something planned?"
She felt safe with Edward, without him she felt naked. And she hated that feeling. She needed her security blanket, the one she loved. Without him she didn't feel whole. The last thing she wanted right now was to go back to Charlies.
"I'm up for whatever you want to do, you know that, Edward." She said, taking his ice cold fingers laced into hers.
Of course he had seen. Edward was very aware of her actions. His lips curved up at the corners of his mouth. Knowing Bella, her injuries could have been far worse. A minor hit to the head was a blessing compared to what else could have been prone to happen. The entire three days of his absence had been dedicated to, apart from hunting, worrying for her safety and wellbeing. It tormented him to know that she was exposed and he was too far away to do anything about it. He was anxious, and he felt it had gotten on Emmett’s nerves after a while. They had been lucky.
Edward remained quiet as her warm hands laced into his.
All he had wanted that day was her. Her blood. It made him resent himself even more. She was in danger and it tore into him to see her that way. Edward wanted nothing more than her safety, to protect her. But for him to be the source of endangerment…it was starting to be too much. He inhaled. This short trip would take his mind off of everything.
Accelerating into an unmarked road, close to where his family resided, he turned down a narrow spot just near a trail. This spot had been so familiar to him and he knew she’d enjoy the dark, somber woods. Stepping outside of his vehicle, he was at the foot of her door in a flash. He then opened it.
When she stepped outside, he stared at her momentarily. “What are you thinking?” he asked, studying her face. The fact that he could not read her mind annoyed him. It was so easy to tune into other people’s thoughts, but all he got from the one person he cared about was white noise.
Bella noticed the road they were taking before she noticed them stop. Her door opened a soon as Edward stepped out from his. She got out of the trunk, almost falling out, but she caught herself for once. Hearing his question, it kind of stumped her.
"I'm wondering what we're doing." She said, a smile growing over her face.
She loved it that Edward couldn't read her thoughts. It made her feel mystirous, like Edward was to her. Atleast it wasn't that easy for him to understand her. She she knew he knew her well enough to not have to ask much. Although she never minded the fact that he wanted to be in her head all the time.
"What are you thinking?" She asked, as she followed Edward's lead to their destination.
She enjoyed it when Edward would take her places like this. It made her feel like their relationship was different from everyone else's. She knew all of her friends went to movies and out to eat with their boyfriends or girlfriends. It made her apperciated the smaller things in life. Things Edward had to do while he was a mortal.
She tripped over a root sticking up from the ground, but Edward caught her before she hit the dirt. This she was thankful for. Bruises and cuts didn't come while Edward was around.
Edward pondered her question for a moment as he lead her through the narrow shrubbery and elevated roots. He knew exactly what he was thinking about, but the question was, did he want to worry her with his concerns? Of course, he did not want to ruin their afternoon together, but he just couldn’t muster the words to tell her so. And in a bittersweet moment, Bella had tripped over one of the elevated roots.
In a flash, Edward’s inhuman reflexes had managed to catch her before she hit the ground. Effortlessly, he held her in his arms, his eyes wide with concern. She had to learn to be more careful. Every moment he held her in this position reminded him of the day he saved her from the van. He never regretted his actions and he accepted the fact that fate had brought them together, whether he had wanted it to or not.
What am I going to do with her? He questioned, cocking his head slightly as set her back to her feet. He could not go on like this. “Are you all right?” he asked tenderly as the back of his cold hand brushed her cheek. Edward knew this had been a bad idea, but there was a special spot he wanted to take her to. Somewhere he went when he wanted to clear his mind.
Within the depths of the forest, near the Cullen residence, was a small creek that ran from the top of the mountains down to the town of Forks. It was there Edward spent time, apart from being high up in the trees. He enjoyed the sound of the running water, and the way it meandered through the off colored rocks. Bella would enjoy it too, if they ever got there.
His eyes never left her gaze, concern still all over them.
Bella laid in his arms, feeling safe. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and smiled at him. She looked him in his honey brown eyes, seeing concern on his face, this threw her off slightly. She knew she just tripped, but his face held more concern than a simple fall could do.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" She asked, still hanging in his beautiful arms. Which is where she wanted to stay. She could feel the tension in his eyes. The expressions he held on his face gave it away to her all the time everytime. She could read his face like a book. As they stood there, while Edward was holding her, she felt his tender hands on her body and felt weightless.
"Edward I know what has happend in the past may have almost killed me, but I didn't and I wish you would stop blamming yourself. I'm the one who chose to go. Leave yourself out of it." She said, trying to sooth him a little. She knew he still felt guitly for indangering her life everyday. But she loved him, and she couldn't turn her back to him now. Never.
She needed him in her life as much as he needed her in his life. They would be partners forever. Well, soon. Hopefully. She didn't want her dream she had so long ago to come true. She didn't want to grow wrinkles and get older. She wanted to stay with Edward, and she was willing to give up her life to do that, but Edward wouldn't give her his gift or 'curse'.
He couldn’t risk anything with her, not even a small trip. Bella was much too delicate. “No. Nothing,” he lied, shaking his head. Edward was a good liar, and it would be impossible for Bella to notice. He had to admit, he was gifted at that. Despite her words, he would always feel guilty, which was why he couldn’t give her what she wanted. It would pain him more to do so. He loved her too much to put them both through that sort of suffering. “Well then, shall we?” he asked rhetorically before taking her hand again. The feeling of her warm skin spread quickly through his arm. It was amazing to feel, compared to the sharp contrast of his.
It wasn’t long before he could hear the water from the creek. “Can you hear it Bella?” he asked eagerly after a few minutes of walking in silence. Of course, he figured she could. Not yet. His condition gave him the gift of supersonic hearing, so it was only natural that Bella could not hear it.
Moments later, they were near the edge of the creek. He held her hand more firmly, afraid that she’d trip on a rock and fall into the water itself. Edward then lead her to a small patch of grass near the edge, where he then set her down carefully. Smiling his signature crooked smile, he sat down beside her.
It was a beautiful location, fit for someone like her. Edward knew she would love it and he could not wait to hear what she thought about it. Glancing over at her, his anxious eyes stared at her. His lips parted slightly as he waited. “What do you think of it?”
Edwards cold hand warpped around hers, as did hers. His cold hard skin felt good on hers. She's gotten used to feeling his cool hard skin. She let him lead her through the forest, trying her best not to trip, failing a few times, but Edward's hand was there to catch her seconds after.
Edwards question threw her off, "What do you mean? I hear nothing but out foot steps and leaves crunching. She then realized he could hear it, of course being a vampire gave you intense senses, and her being human made her feel so ungifted.
She then was lead near a beautiful creek, Her eyes sparkled seeing it's beauty. She smiled, and squeezed his hand in enjoyment. She looked over to him and saw her favorite smile creep across this face, seeing him next to their beautiful surroundings made it seem like grass compared to a rose. There's nothing to compare.
She heard his question and an even larger smile grew across her cheeks.
"Oh, Edward, it's beautiful!" She gleamed looking around her. "Do you come here often?"
She couldn't help but feel like she was in a dream. Being with the one she loved, and being in their own world it seemed made the frosting on the cupcake.
"This would have to be the highlight of my life!" She exclaimed, feeling the sensation of those exact words run through her body. It was amazing. He was amazing.
Bella loved it, just as he suspected she would. Though he had once considered it his place, it would soon become theirs. He enjoyed sharing the beauty of life with her, showing her that there was beauty in life just as there was in death. He did not want her to become some monster, like he was, eternally damned by immortality. It really wasn’t what she thought it would be. And though he was extremely grateful to have her keep him company, Alice’s vision of her becoming one of their own could and would be changed. He was determined to do so.
At her comment, he smiled. His gaze falling to the water. As intrigued as he had been the first time he went to the location, he dipped a finger into the water, swirling it under him.
“You’re beautiful, Bella,” he responded, tilting his head slightly in her direction, but his gaze still fixed on the water before. The reflection of light from the water made his face appear more pallid, more hollow. But on the contrary, Edward felt the complete opposite. He was in his place, with the love of his life. In their place. And for the first time in a long time, he truly felt content with where he was.
Bella really did bring him to life, or at least as close as he could come to it. She made him feel as though he could be himself again and not the same Edward he had been without her. Everyone of the Cullens, well almost everyone, had noticed the change which was why they were so welcoming of Bella into the family.
Smirking, he scooped up a cup full of water in his palms and gently threw it in her direction. Mischievously, he observed her reaction.
Bella felt weak after hearing him comment her beauty. She smiled as she thought of her answer. "Edward, you bring out the beauty in me."
She couldn't help but feel he made her a better person. His exsistence wasn't enough. She needed to be with him, to feel his presence in the air, and touch. He was everything to her. And she wasn't going to let him leave her without a fight. Although she knew she would lose, she atleast wanted to put in a last effort. She's reath die than be away from him, and she lived by theat.
Edward scooped some water into his marble white hands and threw it in her direction. She could help but laugh, as she scooped some of the surface of the water, splashing it in his direction. She loved it when Edward played around with her.
"Edward, you're getting me wet, stop, please." She tried to speak, but it came out more as a laugh.
"Is this out new place Edward?" She asked, now cuddling up to his chest, feeling his strong cool arms wrap around her. This was where she wanted to be, always.
Edward grinned at her mannerism. Her laughter was pristine and full of life. Smiling brightly, he laughed as she splashed water in his direction, shielding his face. When she asked to stop, he immediately did so. Anything for his Bella. Well, almost anything. The thought bothered him and it would continue to bother him for as long as she asked for it. Shifting uncomfortably at the thought, his eyes gazed over at her.
“Yes Bella,” he responded as she cuddled up next to him. As he wrapped an arm around her, he continued. “This is our place…” his voice drifted, his thoughts elsewhere.
In the horizon, between what seemed like endless rows and rows of trees, he could see the intense rays of the sun-the very thing that kept him away from civilization, not that he minded. The camping trips with Carlisle and Esme were very enjoyable, but it was yet another reason why he had to stay away from her. He had missed her dearly.
Peering down at her, he laced his cold hands with hers.
“Do I scare you, Bella?” he asked playfully, but his tone still curious nonetheless. He smiled, waiting for a response.
The question rolled out of his mouth like music. She could listen to his voice forever. It reminded her of the time he left her for the longest time, an eternity it seemed. She would do anything dangerous just to hear his voice in her head. It had become her temporary drug until she thankfully saw him again. She cringed thinking of the emptyness she had felt in her stomach. Although she heard this question a lot, she always came up with a different answer.
"Edward, you could never scare me. If anything I feel safer when I'm with you." She said, feeling his cold fingers lace into hers. She held his hand tightly.
"We were brought together for a reason. And you and I both know what that reason is, but you are stubborn. Maybe I'm the stubborn one, I keep asking you, and you give me the same answer. I just don't understand why you don't want to share forever with me. It would kill you to turn me, but it will kill me to remain human. I want to spend forever with you. And I'm willing to sacrifice my life to be with you." She said the words as if she had been rehersing them, although she had been it seemed beside the point.
She turned her head upward to stare into his beautiful eyes. She breathed him in, intoxicating her for a moment. He was her home, this was where she belonged. With him, Carlisle, Esme, Emmette, Rosalie, Alice, and Jasper. They were her family.
Family, suddenly thinking of the word made her remember her dad, and mom. She would be leaving them behind, and that was something that she couldn't shake. She's miss them both intensely, but she couldn't possibly live without her new family. She had made up her mind. And she knew what her destiny was.
It was reassuring to hear her voice. Even after he had left her, she still loved him with the same passion and fervor she had had before. If only she knew what she was asking of him. He was growing more and more irritable with every time she asked him the same request. And like clockwork, he would give her the same response. Never would he want that fate for his Isabella. He couldn’t understand why she didn’t see. He would love her until the day she stopped breathing, and then an eternity after that. Was that not enough for her?
“You say you want this. To be a monster,” he laughed bitterly, anger clearly in his voice. “I wish you could feel what I feel, Bella. The same complexity… confusion,” he added, gently brushing her aside a distance away from him. It was an inner struggle he was faced with daily and he was getting tired of it. Although he held no resentment for Carlisle and the moment when his dying body endured a pain far worse than his suffering from Spanish Influenza, he would not allow her to make that decision. He clenched his jaw tightly, his expression hardening.
“Enough Bella,” he finally snapped, his eyes flashing. Closing them for a moment, he tried breathing-though it really didn’t matter if he did or not. To him, it was like counting to ten to bring down a temper. Just an exercise to relax. Several seconds later, he opened his golden eyes again. “Sorry,” he muttered. “Please… forgive me.” He paused for a moment before beginning again.
“But you cannot leave Charlie. He needs you,” he pleaded, wanting her to see his reasoning. He had to make her understand. “Is this not enough for you?” he questioned a bit sourly, his eyes shifting to her. Why couldn’t they just be, for now?
If he had scared her, he had not meant to. Sometimes his ways got the better of him. “Are you all right?” he asked gently, placing his hand back into hers.
Bella felt the same feeling she did when he would give her his answer. This angered her for a moment, but she let it be. She couldn't ruin this moment, this time, this place. She hated that Edward didn't want her to change, but the rest of his family would welcome her with open arms. They already have. She sighed, and looked ahead, at the horizon.
"Edward, I understand. And I'm sorry I keep bugging you about it, but it makes sense. I'm sorry it angers you, and there's anything I'd rather so than make you angery." She breathed out, effotlessly. She knew she could raise his temper, although Edward could controll his temper. A lot better than someone who hasn't spoken to her in a long time.
"Being with you is enough. But it makes me want more. What can I say? You're officially my brand of herion. I can't get enough of you, but if I get too much of you, it may kill me. But I'm willing to risk that just for the high." She said, thinking back when he said that to her. He's changed her life so much.
"You're more than I've ever wanted. And for now, that's enough," She began. "Charlie, and Renee both do. And I'm willing to stick around. But that's not going to last long."
She then took his hand into hers, and kissed his knuckles.
"This is good enough for me." She said, smiling looking up to him, then laying her head into his cool hard chest.
His expression softened at her words, recalling what he had once said to her. For now, this would be enough and he would just leave it at that. Edward could only hope she grew more accepting of the situation. Sitting very still, he watched her with curious eyes as she kissed his knuckles. The warmth spread throughout his entire body, and he found that he was quite fond of the sensation it brought him. He nuzzled his face in her hair, taking in her floral aroma, the same one that had nearly driven him to kill her days before. Yes, she was exactly his brand of heroine.
“Bella, I couldn’t live with myself if I ever hurt you,” he whispered, shifting her around to lie in the patch of grass next to the creek. “I love you. And I will always love you,” he breathed heavily, gently pressing himself against her. “I will love you until the day you stop breathing, and then an eternity after that…” he added, gently gliding his cool lips against her cheekbone.
He only wanted what was best for her. It was his responsibility to look after her, and up to now, he was doing a fine job. He stared into her dark eyes, brushing a long strand of raven hair away from her blushing cheeks. He loved to see the rosy tint in them. Edward couldn’t imagine a pale, lifeless Bella.
"I need you to understand," he whispered again in her ear before placing a trail of chilly kisses down to her neck and above her collarbone. It was his favorite spot.
Bella felt him shift her effortlessly to his side on the grass. She listened to his voice like her favorite song, hanging on his every word. She knew how imporatnt her life was to Edward, but she couldn't bare the emptiness in her stomach of knowing someday, if she doesn't change, she'll grow older, and older. What kind of life would that be? Knowing Edward would always be here, and she would slowly wrinkle into a prune, and then die. She couldn't take the thought, she shook it from her mind.
His cold lips touched her cheek, and she felt her heart jump inside her chest. He continued to kiss her, to his favorite spot. Feeling his cool body against her bare neck and collar bone made her jump slightly.
"Edward I understand. I wont ask you any longer. But I'm not going to lie to you. I will become one of you. I just hope you'll look past cursing me, and look at it in a way of spending forever with me. But I'm done, I understand and I'll shut my lips about it from now on." Bella said, making a motion to her mouth as if buttoning it up.
She looked into his golden eyes, and felt him move hair away from her face. She wanted this moment to last forever. It would last forever. Forever in her heart, and thoughts. He would forever be in her heart and thoughts.
He noticed her involuntary jump at his cool touch. A crooked smile appeared on his lips as he gazed into her eyes once more. When she spoke, his smile slowly disappeared. She was threatening him, indirectly of course. Edward’s expression turned cold as he watched her button her mouth. Why couldn’t she understand what was at stake for their family? If the Quileute tribe were to hear of her transformation, the fingers would no doubt be pointed at them.
“You’re better off without me,” he reminded her. Then they would clearly have no problems-theoretically of course.
He lingered over her neck, running his fingers from her ear to her collarbone. “Is it really what you want, Bella?” he asked before planting another cool, teasing kiss on her pale skin. "To spend eternity as a monster, with me?"
One way or another, he would have to convince her that what she was doing was wrong. It was not her choice to make, but his… just as Carlisle had to make his choice.
He glanced up at her, his honey eyes fixed on her expression.
