Jim grinned. "Fine..." He pulled his sword back, ready to lash out. Xane's eyes widened as he leapt forward, grabbing hold of the dagger rested on Mira's hip that Xeke had given her when they were younger, gripping it so the metal encased his body. He moved into a defensive position, wincing as it took all his strength to stop Jim's swing. The metal cracked from the force behing the swing, which caused Jim's eyes to widen. "That's the same metal he uses for his blades..." Jim grinned. "I see... Perfect..." He said, pulling his sword back, Xane falling to a knee. "Please, I won't let you all die for me..." Jim grinned. "Listen to him... Just give me the boy and the dagger... I'll have all the metal I need to make a blade to stack up against Xeke's sword..."

Mira gasped and jumped back, looking at Xane. Frowning, she shook her head. "Katara, Rubin, go back to the ship. I'm not leaving Xane.

Rubin nodded slowly. "Yes, Captain..." He gripped Katara's wrist, sprinting out towards the direction of the ship. Xane looked back at Mira. "No!... You have to leave to!" Jim smirked. "Let her stay... Wouldn't want you to die without your lover."

"Are you insane?" Katara yelled as she was being dragged along. Mira grabbed a sword that was nearby, standing next to Xane. Her dagger wasn't going to be too much help in this fight.

Xane stood slowly, wincing as a few more cracks formed on his armor. "Mira... We can't take him..." He said, as Jim took position again.

"I don't know..." He said, looking up nervously as Jim began to charge at them. However, they were seperated as a string of cannonballs shot around and between them. Xane's eyes widened, gripping Mira's wrist, which turned his body back to normal flesh, and began running away from where he'd last seen Jim.

Mira gasped when Xane grabbed her wrist but she ran as fast and hard as she could to get away from Jim.

Xane peeked out one of the holes in the walls, grinning as he saw the ship was shooting cannons at the base to give them time to escape. "Come on, we need to find a way to get out to the ship!"

Mira cursed under her breath. She had completely forgotten. Something came to her mind though she thought she was crazy. "Xane.. is it possible to turn into something that's softer or lighter than flesh?"

Xane nodded slowly, grabbing the wood. His eyes widened as his body morphed into wood, nodding slowly. "Don't let me sink, ok?..." he said, swallowing.

Xane yelled out as Mira shoved him, which was cut short as he entered the water. Of course, his limbs froze, due to the cursed fruit, but he suddenly bobbed up, gasping for air as he floated on his back.

Mira gasped when she came up for air and made sure that Xane could breath as she draped her arm on him, using him to help her float. "You okay?"

Xane nodded slowly, trying to force himself to relax as Mira worked him over to the ship where Rubin and Katara helped them aboard before the wind carried them off into the sea.

Xane's sighed softly, Mira's hand in his turning his body back to flesh and bone as the ship sailed away from the destroyed Marine base.

Mira slowly stood up and looked up at the marine base in shock. It looked horrible from the outside. Did they really do that much damage to the base?

Rubin smiled slightly, seeing the way Mira looked at the base. "We managed to punch a few holes in there... but I think most of the damage was from Jim..."

Xane shrugged, looking at Rubin. "Well, I was thinking we'd stop at a big port town right before we head into the Grand Line..." Rubin said. "It'd be a good place for me to buy ingredients... maybe get you and Katara some new weapons..." Rubin said, nodding. "Plus, I hear it's where the legendary pirate Gold Roger was executed, and where Monkey D. Luffy made his name." Xane grinned. "You're smarter than you look."
