Mikome weakly nodded and stumbled slightly. She barely caught Mark's warning, "Be careful with her," before saying clearly, "Get better Mikome." He walked away to the hull of the ship.

Aegus rolled his eyes, ignoring Mark before he gently lifted Mikome into his arms. He smiled softly down at her, carrying her up onto the upper deck. He smiled slightly down at her. "Better?..."

Mikome leaned against Aegus, her eyes closed as he carried her up to the deck. She sighed, enjoying the breeze. "A little." She closed her eyes and whispered, "I'm sorry."

Aegus moved a hand to Mikome's cheek. (Here comes a line I wouldn't be surprised to hear in a real FF game.  ) "Mikome... I know you're worried... Mikome leaned into Aegus' hand as he talked, her eyes widening slightly at his words. It took her a moment for her face to relax as she chuckled. "Are you sure you're not a diplomat?" She kissed his hand and nodded, "You're right though. I have to lead with what's better for the people, not what they want. Change has to come after what's been happening to our kingdom."
