Posted April 13th, 2007 11:15 AM IP Some pics from the Game of April 3rd.
(A big thanks to Bob Barnetson for the pics)
I ran a PBI 2 game. I used 10mm figures and reduced the size of the squares from 6 inches to 3 inches.
The scenario was Canadians attacking an Italian town occupied by German Fallshrimjager. As it was a town there were a lot of closed and partially closed squares. The Germans had hidden deployment.
A big thanks to Bob and Mark for trying out the game. Both were PBI rookies (heck, I haven't played PBI enough to call myself a regular!) Mark the Canadian commander deployed on his start line quite dispersed. Because PBI uses Platoon commanders to activate troops, distance from the platoon commander is critical.
We played three turns though, between 9-14 minutes elapsed with the game set to end at 30 minutes. Each side suffered one stand casualty (~3 men). Mark moved one of his Shermans adjacent to a building where some germans were hiding. He missed with his first shot but I'm sure next turn he would have a good chance of causing casualties.
A good pic of the two foot by two foot board.

Sherman tanks advance on the right flank supported by infantry.

The Germans show themselves and hamper the Canadian advance.

A close up of a Canadian stand. Pendraken 10mm's based on magnets so I can remove them from the stand if required.

Sweet set up and pics. I've ordered some of those Litko bases as well.
Kevin.
