The only way to ban a member of Excoboard is to use their IP address.
To find the IP address go to Admin Control Panel>User Administration. Click on the Members name and then on the button Check IP. If they have posted at least once on your board there will be one or more IP's listed. --[If there is only one and they have posted several times, they almost certianly have what is known as a "Static IP", which means it will not change over time. If there are more than one listed, they are most likely to have what is known as a "Dynamic IP", which means it will change each time they reconnect to the internet.]
Make a list of each IP that is listed and close the pop up window that came up.
Now go to Ban IP Addresses--Enter each IP you have for the member in the boxes that are there. You must enter each one seperatly. There are three boxes to begin with, but you just click Save after entering the first 3 IP's you have and it will bring up 3 more boxes to enter IP's into.
Now go back to User Administration. You can now do one of two things. You can either Delete them outright or you can Disable them, which means they will be unable to use the same Username/Email to reregister. It will prevent them from posting or viewing the board. I always recommend Disable over Delete, but it's up to you. To delete them, put a check mark in the box after their name and go to the bottom of the board and click on Apply Changes. To Disable them, find the Status area after their name--it is a drop box, with several different options. Choose Disable. Go to the bottom of the board and click on Apply Changes.
You are now done and may exit the Control Panel entirely.
