Wherever my shepherd leads Poem
Connie Campbell Bratcher

He leads beside still waters,
Where the pastures are so green,
And through the turbulent storms,
Where no ray of light is seen.
Over the highest mountain,
Or across the deepest sea,
Wherever my Shepherd leads
That is where I want to be.

When I pass through rough waters,
His loving Spirit is there,
And as long as I follow Him,
I am sheltered in His care.
In the depths of the valley,
Or through the furnace of fire,
Just to know He is with me
Fulfills my every desire.

The Lord is my Great Shepherd,
He has called me by my name;
Hes the rock of all ages
And forevermore the same.
He restores my weary soul,
And He always comforts me;
Wherever My Shepherd Leads
That is where I want to be.

"Thus saith the Lord that created thee, Fear not: for I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle thee. Fear not: for I am with thee."
(Isa.43:1-2, 5)

Only you Poem
Connie Campbell Bratcher

Only You, Lord, and You alone,
Can make our dreams come true
For our very deepest longings
Are filled when we know You.
No one but You can take and mend
A weary, broken heart,
Forgive and cleanse a soul from sin
And give a brand new start.

Only You, Lord, can give us strength
For those great trials we face
Undergirding and sustaining
By Your amazing grace.
Only You can ignite a flame,
And stir our heart within
To obey the great commission
Sharing Christ with all men.

My Lord and my God, only You
Can thrill our heart and soul
With such great spiritual blessings,
Found in Your Shepherds fold.
May we always give You glory
In everything we do.
Without You we could do nothing
Youre our lifeOnly You.

"When Christ, who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory."
(Col. 3:4)

I Wish that I Could Bring You to the Lord

I wish that I could bring you to the Lord
Before you die, for I have faith that you
And I could be together if you knew
The truth that shines like laughter in His word.
I wish I had the hope that I could be
The instrument through which you'd understand
The love that waits upon your silent hand
To rush into your anguish like a sea.

I wish that you could feel the joy that I
Am filled with now I'm open to His love,
The miracles that daily in me move
So deep there is no need to question why.

I wish, I wish, I wish I could do more
To reach into the raptures of your heart.
But I can only do my humble part
While you and He meet naked at your door.

True liberty Poem
Connie Campbell Bratcher

Christ, our shining Light - The Son of God above,
Calls out to one and all, proclaiming the Fathers love:
"Come ye who are tired and weary, those who are tempest tossed;
The homeless, hungry, poor, the wretched, sinful lost;
Come all ye huddled masses yearning to be free;
From a weary world of darkness, come ye unto me.
My yoke is easy, my burden light, theres rest on the peaceful shore,
I lift my lamp eternally beside the golden door."

"If the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed"
(John 8:36)

Inspired by "The New Colossus", a poem by Emma Lazarus inscribed on a tablet in the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in 1903.

A New Day is Here!!!
by Cindy Tuttle

A new day is here

A new chance to live

Really live!

A new day to see nature

with open eyes

To let nature speak to us

To see the awesome

sunrise as it welcomes the day

Telling us, reminding us,

there is a new beginning

Yes, a new day is here.!

A new day is here.

Written in our hearts Poem
Connie Campbell Bratcher

God made a new covenant
For all who would come,
In faith believing
In His only Son.
The sacrifice made
On Mount Calvary,
Ushered in the new covenant
That sets men free...
Free from the old-
It's bondage and fear;
Free to know God,
And to feel Him near.
He forgives and removes sin,
Remembering it no more,
And becomes our loving Father
As never before.
Praise God for the new covenant,
And the life He imparts,
As His Holy Law
Is Written In Our Hearts.

"...After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Just in case I pass you by and forget to say hello,
Or notice that your hand is out, remind me as I go.
Remind me that my visit here, is just a speck in time,
I could be standing in your shoes, while you walk by in mine.

Remind me not to judge you, for who am I to say,
My life means more than yours does, as I smugly walk away.
Remind me you are human and equal to us all,
Your spirit soared the same as mine, before you took the fall.

Remind me there's a soul inside, pretending not to care,
A soul who may have lost its way, while drifting off somewhere.
Remind me to look in your eyes and feel the close connection,
Of the kindred spirits, yours and mine, and see my own reflection.

Remind me not so long ago, we knew each other then.
Another time, another place, another way back when.
Remind me to look deep inside and recall the one I know,
Remind me, yes remind me...please remind me as I go.

Ending the Day With Jesus

As I end this day

I think of the people

who showed me Jesus

Jesus was in their smile

Jesus was in their

voice when they said

how much they loved God

Jesus was in their eyes

when they looked at me with love

Yes, at the end of the day I

am able to sleep in love

knowing I was with Jesus

the entire day

Spread your wings and Fly. Trust Jesus and don't ask why....

Stephanie M. Storey-Morant

Have you ever watched a butterfly?

As it soared, freely, through the sky

Oh, how beautiful, it may have looked, that day

But that butterfly, didn’t always look that way

For one day, not so, long go

He had to crawl, to and fro

Slowly on it’s belly, all alone

Never, ever sure, it would make it home

Never sure where it needed to be

Uncertain of its destiny

But it pressed on, day, after day

Even when obstacles, got in its way

Even when people, knocked it around

And the world seemed to come tumbling down

On it went, not certain where

All it had, was its daily prayer

Sometimes storms came, to steal his plans

Sometimes life, found man’s hands

But that Caterpillar, would cry for Peace

And all of his storms would somehow cease

But that didn’t end, his journey of pain

that Caterpillar, needed a change

So one day he cried in his loudest voice

He took his life back, and made a choice

Someone heard his cry, and wrapped him tight

Covered in Love, this was just right

Protected as old things were passed away

A Warm Cocoon is where he lay

As he was changed, into what he was made to be

He gave his life, and was then set free

But now he was different, from before

He didn’t have to struggle, anymore

He had help, from a higher power

He had comfort in the midnight hour

He had joy in the place of pain

He had shelter in the time of rain

That Butterfly now had his wings

But he had an even better thing

He had HOPE, for his destiny was clear

He had GOD, and nothing to fear

Spiritual gratitude.....

Heart and soul woven with love,
always there, willing to give.
Inspiration reaching down from above,
how do we go on, how do we live.

Examining the everlasting ocean of eternity,
as it rhythmically changes from day to night.
Walking in footsteps of all who came before,
surrounded by darkness and penetrating light.

What is it we see with our minds eye,
when searching the heavens for a sign?
Do we see the legitimacy etched in prophecy,
or do we hold the power to rearrange design?

Walking the path of the straight and narrow,
will at times present obstacles unseen, seen.
Do we face that which is ineffaceable,
or retreat to a comfort as has always been.

Hearing your utterance filled with wisdom,
yet never hearing the sound of your voice.
Here you are the Patriarch to all,
offering compassion and much needed choice.

Life here on earth is a mere stepping-stone,
but how we live is what serves you best.
Keeping faith through trials and tribulations,
learning the ways of passing your test.

Spiritual gratitude is a never-ending offering,
as forgiveness in your arms equals deliverance.
The burdens encompassing internal desires,
lead one to the gates of your holy reverence.

Along this journey, a path long ago laid,
friends and family will come and go.
It is you who are the one staple in life,
spiritual wisdom like the ocean's flow.

A plush Eden sometimes coats the truth,
with its effervescent fragrance of renewal.
Causing a pause and breathless silence,
in recognition of the heart of this jewel.

Hanging Out With Jesus

This is a poem that talks about how sometimes we get tired and how spending time with Jesus can refresh us.

I see that life is hard for you right now

I see you are tired and feel like you have given all

I see how you care for others

and worry about many things

So, come rest wth me today

That's right- Let's just hang out

If you want you can bring your Bible

but what is most important is that

you rest in my love

I created you and I

want you to experience how much I love you

So, come my child

Rest in me for awhile

The Abundant Life

Peace that fills my heart within.
No matter what's in my sight.
Principles that I shall keep.
Because I know they're right!

My ministry for the Lord
Urges me to speak.
I want to say what He wants me to.
I refuse to just be weak!

When I keep my priorities right,
My Lord is always number one.
Sometimes when I lose sight of that,
I drift away from God's only Son!

Lord, I want always to do Your will.
Be true to You day by day.
If others come across my path.
Help me to point the way!

That they might learn of You through me.
And reach for You, through their strife.
Lord, lead me daily, so I can have.
A truly Abundant Life!

You perhaps recall the story of the blacksmith who gave his heart to God. Though conscientious in his living, still he was not prospering materially. In fact, it seems that from the time of his conversion more trouble, affliction and loss were sustained than ever before. Everything seemed to be going wrong.

One day a friend who was not a Christian stopped at the little gorge to talk to him. Sympathizing with him in some of his trials, the friend said "It seems strange to me that so much affliction should pass over you just at the time when you have become an earnest Christian. Of course, I don't want to weaken your faith in God or anything like that. But here you are, God's help and guidance, and yet things seem to be getting steadily worse. I can't help wondering why it is."

The blacksmith did not answer immediately, and it was evident that he had thought the same question before. But finally, he said "You see here the raw iron which I have to make into horse's shoes. You know what I do with it? I take a piece and heat it in the fire until it is red, almost white with the heat. Then I hammer it unmercifully to shape it as I know it should be shaped. Then I plunge it into a pail of cold water to temper it. Then I heat it again and hammer it some more. And this I do until it is finished."

"But sometimes I find a piece of iron that won't stand up under this treatment. The heat and the hammering and the cold water are too much for it. I don't know why it fails in the process, but I know it will never make a good horse's shoe."

He pointed to a heap of scrap iron that was near the door of his shop. "When I get a piece that cannot take the shape and temper, I throw it out on the scrap heap. It will never be good for anything."

He went on, "I know that God has been holding me in the fires of affliction and I have felt His hammer upon me. But I don't mind, if only He can bring me to what I should be. And so, in all these hard things my prayer is simply this: Try me in any way you wish, Lord, only don't throw me on the scrap heap."

And So I Choose

I Choose Love...
No occasion justifies hatred -- no injustice warrants bitterness.

I Choose Love.
Today I will love God and what God loves.

I Choose Joy....
I will invite my God to be the God of circumstance. I will
refuse temptation to be cynical... the tool of the lazy thinker.
I will refuse to see people as anything less than human beings,
created by God. I will refuse to see any problem as anything less
than an opportunity to see God.

I Choose Peace...
I will live forgiven. I will forgive so that I may live.

I Choose Patience...
I will overlook the inconveniences of the world, Rather than
complaining that the wait is too long. I will thank God for a
moment to pray, instead of clinching my fist at a new assignments,
I will face them with joy and courage.

I Choose Kindness...
I will be kind to the poor, for they are alone. Kind to the rich,
for they are afraid. And kind to the unkind, for such is how God
has treated me.

I Choose Goodness...
I will go without a dollar before I take a dishonest one. I will
see the good in others when it is hard to find. I will confess
before I will accuse, I choose goodness.

I Choose Faithfulness...
Today I will keep my promises. My debtors will not regret their
trust. My associates will not question my word.My wife will not
question my love, and my children will never fear that their
father will not come home.

I Choose Gentleness...
Nothing is won by force, I choose to be gentle. If I raise my
voice, may it be only in praise. If I clench my fist, may
it be only in prayer. If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.

I Choose Self-Control...
I am a spiritual being. After this body is dead, my spirit will
soar, I refuse to let what will rot the eternal.

I Choose Self-Control...
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,

Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control...
To these I commit my day, If I succeed. I will give thanks.
I will seek God's face. And then when this day is done, I will
place my head on my pillow and rest.

My hand in God's

Each morning when I wake I say,
"I place my hand in God's today;"

I know He'll Walk close by my side
My every wandering step to guide.

He Leads me with the tenderest care
When paths are dark and I despair--

No need for me to understand
If I but hold fast to His Hand.

My hand in His! No surer way
to walk in safety through each day.

By His Great Bounty I am fed;
Warmed by His Love, and Comforted.

When at day's end I seek my rest
And realize how much I'm blessed,

My thanks pour out to Him; and then
I place my hand in God's again.

Practice What You Preach

You can know all the scriptures,
Have all the bibles you can reach,
But when push comes to shove
Do you practice what you preach?

Anyone can go to church
And collapse on the floor,
But when Judgment Day comes
Will you be at Heaven's door?

You can have the biggest of fits
And say the Holy ghost passed through,
But is that really reflected
In the things you do?

You can yell far and wide
Proclaiming your love for Christ,
But what have you given him
When for you He gave his life?

You can lecture others
About the wrong things they do,
But before you look at others
You need to look at you.

You can **** all the sinners
Tell them they're headed south,
But what have you done lately
Besides run your mouth?

You can call yourself a Christian
Spend all your days at church,
But while you are praising His name,
Have you been doing the Lord's work?

You can boast of good deeds
To show us the spirit is within
But why show it to us?
You should show it to Him!

You can memorize the bible
Know it from front to back,
But you don't use it to regulate others
Regulate how you act!

Take a good look at yourself
Not at what others do,
Because when He comes to get his children ...
Will He be coming for you too?

A minister passing through his church
In the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
And see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,
A man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw
The man hadn't shaved in a while.

His shirt was kinda shabby
And his coat was worn and frayed,
The man knelt, he bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed,
Each noon time came this chap,
Each time he knelt just for a moment,
A lunch pail in his lap.

Well, the minister's suspicions grew,
With robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
'What are you doing here?'

The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.

'I stay only moments, see,
Because the factory is so far away;
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kinda what I say:

The minister feeling foolish,
Told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime

Time to go, Jim smiled, said 'Thanks.'
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
He'd never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
And met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
He repeated old Jim's prayer:

Past noon one day, the minister noticed
That old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
He began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him,
Learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
But he'd given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn't understand
Why Jim was so glad,
When no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
Up and with a winsome smile;
'the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
That he's in here all the while

Everyday at noon He's here,
A dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:

I don't know who wrote this poem. Someone sent it to me in an email today. I thought it was nice.

Remember Me

Here I am standing before Him,
Other times I may sit down, too,
But this only happens on most days,
Hoping that He would accept any praise,
Some days I just feel way too lazy,
To release the love that blooms like a daisy,
I can't express how I feel about my Lord,
Some days I'm too tired to tell Him a word,
On some days I neglect His presence,
Way too preoccupied to see His essence,
I have friends, family, sports, school, and work
Then when I mess up, for His help I lurk,
Other than that I don't have time,
I want to have fun and live my prime,
Many months have passed now,
I haven't talked to the Lord, for years,
Now I'm standing here in grieving tears,
I left Him, and I never came back,
Now without Him, my body is like a sack
One day I realize it's way too late,
God has left, I have missed the date
Please O Lord wait, hear my cry,
I ask You O Lord give me another try,
Within a second I heard His vast reply,
"Don't you know that I never left you?
Here I am always with you,
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow
At every second at your high and low,
I know My name You may have forgotten,
But a heart with Me shall never grow rotten,
Focus NOW and forget the past,
Trust in Me until your last,
Let's go now, reach my hand,
Remember Me, and together we'll stand."

America On Her Knees

Youthful country nourished for years,
Now engaged in a time of tears.
Innocent souls lost due to division and pain,
Struggle for unity essential to regain.

A nation revived emerging in prayer,
Trusting a higher power to get us there.
Journey towards peace under His Almighty hand,
Previous mistakes, Lord forgive our land.

We pray for guidance in all we do,
Braced with endearing hope to get us through,
Allow our people the stamina to begin,
Proclamation of faith His message we send.

Desolate time of dark shadows make clear,
Mankind's solidarity will conquer fear.
Revelation of light producing a spirit of love,
Protection to lean on shielded from above.

Engaging an untold battle about to begin,
Preserve our nation's foundation spurred to defend.
Ability to remain strong persevering the need,
Shedding seeds of courage to accomplish the deed

The Great Divide

In the bible a great divide is found
On one side the redeemed of the Lord,
the other side are the hell bound
On one side those who have believed on Jesus name
and are born again
the other side those who believe not
and are already condemned in their sin
On one side those who have repented
and have mercifully been forgiven
the other side the unrepentant
and in their sin they are still livin'
On one side those that are saved
through faith in Christ alone
On the other side those who are lost
and not yet claimed Christ as their own
On one side those who have everlasting life
and will not receive eternal ****ation,
the other side those who will not go to heaven
because they rejected God's free gift of salvation
The choice is yours to be on either side
of this great divide
Saved or lost for all eternity
Your destiny is yours to decide

A Dove Delivers Me
by Debra Faulconer Baker

I drift a stray...Never understanding...
I feel like a petal...a scent...That draws the wolves in hunger...

I close my eyes

To feel the warmth of Heaven

A Dove delivers me

Gods’ embrace

Oh’ God

Thank you for this splendor

Blessing me with your Love

Touching my heart

From time to time

I drift a stray

Yearning to know why

Never understanding

I feel like a petal

With a scent

That draws the wolves in hunger

I forget who I am in the moment

Rendering myself a delight

Fulfilling the hunger which maddens me

I don’t know what Love is

I only feel it in your embrace

Forgiving me of thy sin

You pledge allegiance to the flag,
But only when it fills your need;
For if you cared you'd support it,
Instead you act solely on greed.

She's on the edge of apocalypse,
This Lady is preparing to die;
Blindsided by foreign investors,
The thought of it all should make you cry.

You are an enemy of these States,
And you are the one who'll cause its fall;
You show it in what you drive and buy,
Which truly proves you don't care at all.

"Buy local, it makes a difference,"
You'll gladly do that for your home town;
Yet, "Buy American!" you don't care,
Now America's fixin' to drown.

I may just have written my last book,
For now I feel I need take a stand;
To take America back again,
Tell me; where do you fit in that plan?

I won't sit back and just watch her die,
No! Not without one hell of a fight;
This is still one nation, under God,
And I'll fight for her with all of my might.

This should be sent to everyone possible from sea to shining sea. Some would say we
are now living in a world economy but that is not true . Not when the countries that are flooding our shores with their imports practice PROTECTIONISM to meet their own end. And that end is the demise of the United States of America.

Finding Dignity
Don't look to someone else for dignity.
Look within your soul and you will see
It is God alone who gave that gift to you,
And, with it, the will to choose what you will do.

If you decide to squander it away,
Unhappiness will haunt you night and day.
Every path you take will lead nowhere
If you're content to say that life's unfair.

When in your heart, you recognize what's true:
Your future's up to only God and you,
It is then that you can turn your life around
And break the chains that seem to hold you down.

With every breath you take, He's by your side,
Omnipotent Creator, Savior, Guide.
And you? You are the apple of his eye;
To give the gift of life, He had to die.

When you look into the mirror, who do you see?
Just the familiar face of someone you call me
Or do you see the miracle within;
An image sculpted by His loving hand?

You are very precious in His sight;
Accept Him and He'll lead you to the Light.
It's when you turn to Him on bended knee,
You will find true peace and dignity.

1. Reality

Reality ain't going nowhere
No matter how high
No matter how drunk
No matter how hard you swear that you "nice" right now
You ain't "nice", all it is is that you don't want to care
Cause that would hurt more than you're prepared to bear
On your shoulders all by yourself
So now you jeopardizing your health
Spiritually or physically
Which is probably part of the reason that you went and did this to me
In the first place, what was you thinking?
Was that you? or was that the weed or the liquor in your system?
I hope it was because decisions like the ones that you've been making
Are hard to see you make but I got Grace to deal with Satan
His distraction from Truth and his temptation
That's the way to respond when it's the breaks
Because we live and we learn, we will all surely make mistakes
And take for granted
One thing that I've learned is the devil's eyes ain't always slanted
They could be mine, they could be yours.

You are somebody

"Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

You are somebody and what body might that be?
It depends upon you as to what is ‘the you’ that others see
Look deep within your heart, soul and mind
Identify what is there for you to find
If you dwell on anger then wrath will reign
So ask yourself, “What do I gain?”
Hateful thoughts are unloving and unkind
Search your soul and see what you find
You have dominion over your meditations
You can control your wants and inspirations
It is you that chooses these aspirations
So don’t dwell on thoughts of anger or hate
For hating is contagious and being hated thus becomes your fate
Choose the ‘you’ that reflects the love of Jesus, our Lord
Be a witness each day to his holy word

The Kind Stranger

It was a stormy day, From so deep within...
My troubles were overwhelming, my life was in a spin.

No matter what I said, or did, It never turned out right...
My heart was broken into pieces, peace for me had taken flight.

And then I met a Stranger, with such love in His eyes...
He listened to my worries, and then my life He energized.

I poured out my very soul, to this kind and gentle Man...
He wrapped His arms around me, And my new life began.

His name is Jesus! He's the Messiah! He understood just how I felt,
and He told me a gruesome story, and how painfully He had dealt.

He taught me how to smile again, He encouraged me to forgive...
And from that moment on, I knew what it was to live!

He took all my sins and afflictions, and nailed them to a cross...
And I now have this freedom, across my heart embossed.

Jesus is my Savior! He set me free from agony and grief...
He is my precious Friend, And His gracious love is my on-going relief.

When your strength is failing

And you are faltering in your faith

Pause for a moment.....take a deep breath

God your Father who is the source of your strength

Will refresh and rekindle your faith.

Remember the battle is not yours....it is the Lord's

Battle and He is fighting for you.

Don't ever forget to wait on the Lord.

God will continually give to you strength

To over come every trial and sustain you

In your weakest moments.

Give me the Courage

I've determined to go on with You
though I don't understand.
Am I dying to self or is this all new land?
Nothing seems the same, not even me
yet I will trust You when I don't see.

The world is really changing and so have I.
I'm really lost now or You've led me up high.
I've never been here before
and Lord,it is so lonely.
Dare I go back where it seems safer
or follow You only?

I hear Your voice - Yes, it is You.
So different from all the others.
It's new and fresh and true.
I keep walking Your way
but the path is getting steeper.
I've tripped on some rocks,
now I've fallen in deeper.

You pull me up and again You talk
but I'm bruised and tired, Lord
And I'm afraid to walk.
You give me Your hand
And we take steps together.
I'm getting stronger now
though it's still stormy weather.

Keep showing me Lord
what is in Your will.
Give me the courage to go on with You still.
Though others may wander and some even stray,
I want to stay close by You -
Today and everyday.

Veteran's Day

Evil. We

Recruits to

Assert a

Stalwart presence

Achieving peace for

You and me

Veteran’s Day, time to say to each Veteran "thank you" for embodying attributes that belong to those who have served to make our country free and lighten the burden in countries where freedom is an aspiration.

In my heart I know that each of you [veterans] has made numerous sacrifices to ensure that others and I have certain inalienable rights as a citizen of the United States. I hope you walk with your head held high and know that many of us feel an insurmountable gratitude for all you have done and do for us.

This acrostic is my simple way of saying "Thank you and may God bless you!"
