To Do List From God

I ran my life in search of worldly things;
My time and will were firmly in control.
I thought I had no need for what God brings;
I gave no heed to murmurs from my soul.

ďYouíre planning, doing all the time,Ē it said,
ďBut something else is missing deep inside.
Your mind is whirling, but your heart is dead,
So turn to God and let go of your pride.Ē

I did, and God said, ďHereís My plan for you:
Give your life to Me, and just let go.
Have faith and pray, and read the Bible through,
And youíll have blessings more than you can know.Ē

So simple, yet it brings me perfect peace,
Living life for God the way I should.
Direction, purpose, fullness and releaseó
Life with God is very, very good.

The inspirational Christian poem above, To Do List From God, focuses on how much better and more peaceful life is when we move away from worldly things and closer to Jesus.

Christians who remember what their lives were like before being saved can relate to how this Christian poems reveals how the stresses of the world and our need to plan and control things can make life difficult.

When we turn it all over to God, life becomes so much more peaceful and

Help Me Forgive

When rage and fury overwhelm my heart,
Itís time to look to Godís own Holy Word.
I search the Bible for His good advice;
My will to His commands must be deferred.

In Romans God reveals His love for me;
In all things God works only for my good;
He gives me blessings I canít understand;
Iíd be peaceful if Iíd do the things I should.

Jesus forgave so much; why then canít I?
I want to mold my life after His own.
I pray, I try, but my sinful nature wins;
Lord, help me, I canít do this thing alone.

In Colossians, I read about the peace of Christ;
Oh, how I long to feel it in my heart.
All I have to do is to forgive,
But Lord, it seems I donít know where to start.

I need to walk a mile in the otherís shoes;
Theyíre doing what they think they have to do.
I know some problems are blessings in disguise,
But Lord, sometimes I feel so doggone blue.

Ephesians says "forgive as the Lord forgave you;
Get rid of anger and every form of malice."
Iíd love to just let go and release it all,
But upon my heart is a wound thatís become a callus.

Iíll keep praying, trying, Lord, no matter what;
Iím determined to let go and relinquish blame;
Some day, Iíll say, and be truly sincere:
"I forgive it all in Jesusí precious name."

(Romans 8:28, Colossians 3:13, Ephesians 4:31)

If You Were

If you were busy being kind,
Before you knew it you would find
You'd soon forget to think `twas true
That someone was unkind to you.

If you were busy being glad
And cheering people who seem sad,
Although your heart might ache a bit,
You'd soon forget to notice it.

If you were busy being good,
And doing just the best you could,
You'd not have time to blame some man
Who's doing just the best he can.

If you were busy being true
To what you know you ought to do,
You'd be so busy you'd forget
The blunders of the folks you've met.

If you were busy being right,
You'd find yourself too busy quite
To criticize your brother long,
Because he's busy being wrong.

The Bible

I and the Bible, my book,
in its scriptures where I look.

Telling of God's word is what it's for.
Telling that if you find God, you'll be lost no more.

For I read it both day and night,
to my heart, it brings pure delight.

In my heart I store its scriptures.
In my mind it frames a picture.

In my life it gives me wisdom,
for it tells of the gifts from Him.

It tells of the commandments, for which we should live by.
It tells of the place in Heaven reserved for me when I die.

The light in your life will never go dim,
if you read of the words of Him.

Avoid the Bible and you'll remain lost,
for the price it pays, it's not worth the cost!

I, like the Bible, can tell of the word,
to all of God's children who haven't heard.

To go to Heaven you have to accept in your heart,
the love-salvation of God which the Bible departs.

A Little Fellow Follows Me

A careful man I ought to be,
A little fellow follows me.
I dare not go astray,
For fear he'll go the self-same way.

I cannot once escape his eyes,
Whatever he see me do, he tries.
Like me, he says, he's going to be,
The little chap who follows me.

He thinks that I am good and fine,
Believes in every word of mine.
The base in me he must not see,
That little fellow who follows me.

I must remember as I go,
Thru summers' sun and winters' snow.
I am building for the years to be,
In the little chap who follows me.

You can trust the Holy Bible from the first page to the last. You can trust what it says about the future, and what it says about the past.

There really was a Noah, who built an ark with a hammer and a nail. There really was a Jonah, who lived after being swallowed by a whale.

There really was a town called Sodom, destroyed by fire and brimstone from above. And God really did feed the Hebrews with manna, sent to them with love.

There really was a virgin Mary, who conceived Jesus in her womb. And it's true he came to life again, after being buried in a tomb.

It's true Jesus healed the sick, and gave sight to those who couldn't see. It's true he healed the deaf, and walked on the Sea of Galilee.

He healed some who couldn't walk, and raised three persons from the dead. He fed a multitude of people with only two fish and five loaves of bread.

The Bible tells us of hell.....a place for those not forgiven of their sin. And it tells us of heaven.....a place Christ's disciples are sure to enter in.

The Bible speaks of many things..... some easy, some hard to understand. But the Bible can be fully trusted, for it came from God's almighty hand.

So, don't pass judgment on the Bible. It's always right, never wrong. For God has given all its contents, and there's not a verse that doesn't belong.

No, don't pass judgment on the Bible. It's God's infallible Word. Just listen to God speak as you read it. You'll be blessed by what is heard.

A candle is but a simple thing
It starts with just a bit of string
Yet dipped and dipped with patient hand
It gathers wax upon the strand
Until complete and snowy white
It gives at last a lovely light
Life seems so like that bit of string
Each deed we do a simple thing
Yet day by day if on life's strand
We work with patient heart and hand
It gathers joy, makes dark days bright
And gives at last a lovely light

Christians believe The Holy Bible to be the word of God. Here is my poem about the Bible.

Dear Children of the Earth,
From: Your Father in Heaven.

I want my words to touch your inner being,
I want your precious spirit's eyes to be seeing,
I want the world to know that you are mine,
And to put a tingle down your spine!!

You'll find my words in a special book,
It wont take long, just have a quick look.
There are sixty six little books bound inside,
You'll find me in there with arms open wide.

You will see that I sit upon my throne,
Searching the world for a people of my very own.
It tells you all about my worldly creation,
How it all went wrong, and the birth of a nation.

It tells of their lives of trouble and strife,
But mostly it tells of their faith in life.
Its got stories and proverbs and songs galore,
But about a special man, there are gospels four!!

At the centre of my book, is Jesus your special friend,
Although, he's actually there from beginning to end.
And on that day, when you finally realize,
That you need my Son to open your eyes.

He'll be there knocking at the door of your heart,
You only have to say "Sorry, Jesus, I want a new start."
You see that's what my Holy Bible is all about.
It tells that "I LOVE YOU ALWAYS," without a doubt.

Spring Is

Spring is the morning bird song,
Crocuses and Daffodils,
Blossoms blowing in the breeze,
And pies on windowsills.

Springs a gentle warming,
After the winter's thaw.
It's natures resurrection,
That leaves us all in awe.

Spring is natures promise,
Of hope and rebirth.
A time when all the Angels,
Redecorate the Earth.

Spring's a time for planting,
Pretty flowers to adorn.
A time for being thankful,
Just because you were born.

Spring is the morning sunshine,
And the afternoon delights.
When Mother Nature celebrates,
Her God given rites.

About ten years ago, a young and very successful executive named Josh was traveling down a Chicago neighborhood street. He was going a bit too fast in his sleek, black, 12-cylinder Jaguar XKE, which was only two months old.

He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no child darted out, but a brick sailed out and - WHUMP! -- it smashed into the Jag's shiny black side door! SCREECH...!!!! Brakes slammed! Gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the Jaguar back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown.

Josh jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid and pushed him up against a parked car. He shouted at the kid, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?!" Building up a head of steam, he went on. "That's my new Jag, that brick you threw is gonna cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it?"

"Please, mister, please . . . I'm sorry! I didn't know what else to do!" pleaded the youngster. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop!"

Tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car. "It's my brother, mister," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."

Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the young executive tried desperately to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. Straining, he lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be OK. He then watched the younger brother push him down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long walk back to the sleek, black, shining, 12-cylinder Jaguar XKE - a long and slow walk. Josh never did fix the side door of his Jaguar. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at him to get his attention.

Some bricks are softer than others; feel for the bricks of life coming at you.

For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has positive answers.

You say: "It's impossible"
God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)

You say: "I'm too tired"
God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)

You say: "Nobody really loves me"
God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 13:34)

You say: "I can't go on"
God says: My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)

You say: "I can't figure things out"
God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)

You say: "I can't do it"
God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)

You say: "I'm not able"
God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)

You say: "It's not worth it"
God says: It will be worth it (Roman 8:28)

You say: "I can't forgive myself"
God says: I FORGIVE YOU (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)

You say: "I can't manage"
God says: I will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)

You say: "I'm afraid"
God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7)

You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated"
God says: Cast all your cares on ME (I Peter 5:7)

You say: "I don't have enough faith"
God says: I've given everyone a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)

You say: "I'm not smart enough"
God says: I give you wisdom (I Corinthians 1:30)

You say: "I feel all alone"
God says: I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

Everyday is the same now; one more monotonous than the last. Get up, go to school, come home, work, sleep. You'd hope as the holidays come around that things would liven up and be all sparkly, but rather the opposite seems the case. Work gains importance as Christmas draws ever nearer and all else loses meaning.

I curled up under my quilt last evening and thought of how much more 'real' Christmas used to seem. Does all of the charm and excitement just go away as one gets older and get replaced by fear, anxiety and outside pressures? I used to think that being 18 would be the nicest age imaginable, but that is just as much of a childish fantasy as Santa Claus.

As I pondered this thought, it hit me. We always look to the future for answers, like the child who hopes their wish will come true under the tree. What about all those gorgeous memories? Isn't that alone enough to make us yearn for the future? All of those wonderful noises and smells, of clattering dishes, out of tune carols, and salty roast potatoes and rich gravy; the compulsory family time.

With the toll our hectic lives take on communication, this should have been sheer bliss. Presents used to seem so exciting, tearing off the paper in shreds to reveal the gift below, but now the joy truly seems in the giving.

When I awoke this morning, I decided that to fully appreciate Christmas this year, I have to block out all the negative, and truly embrace the spirit; the spirit of waiting for wonderful things the future has to offer, of what the past has taught, and of the beautiful gifts God has given me.

This way joy radiates around, and you feel like you can conquer anything before the holidays arrive with all their beauty. I really can be a season of peace, of inner peace.

The ABC's of Friendship
Accepts you as you are
Believes in "you"
Calls you just to say "HI"
Doesn't give up on you
Envisions the whole of you (even the unfinished parts)
Forgives your mistakes
Gives unconditionally
Helps you
Invites you over
Just because
Keeps you close at heart
Loves you for who you are
Makes a difference in your life
Never Judges
Offers support
Picks you up
Quiets your fears
Raises your spirits
Says nice things about you
Tells you the truth when you need to hear it
Understands you
Values you
Walks beside you
Yells when you won't listen and
Zaps you back to reality

A poem for Visiting Teachers
If you can love each woman that you visit,
Because she is a mother at home;

If you can find in each a lovely virtue-
Then finding it Ė be sure to pass it on;

If you can disregard the littered parlor
Or dirty dishes that youíre sure to find;

But take your message to the one who lives there
And make her feel youíre friendly, wise and kind.

If you can sympathize where there is sorrow,
Can calm the troubled waters where thereís strife;

If you can make her know that her tomorrows
Hold more than just the struggles of this life;

If you can help wherever help is needed,
Can share with her joys, as well as tears;

If you can leave her one thought or inspiration
For her to carry with her through the years.

If she can confide in you where sheís troubled,
And know that you, her confidence will keep;

If you can help a tired or weary Mother
To make a bed, or rock a child to sleep;

If you can do these things, and all the others
That I am sure are there for you to do,

Yours is a mission not unlike the Masterís
And blessings will be given unto you

This poem has come out of my need to reach those who find themselves in times of despair. It comes out of my observations of those around me and seeing their helpless state.
My heart ached the other day
As amidst the crowd I saw
A young man so alone and lost
That I could bear no more

I walked across toward him
And as I caught his eye
The pleading that I saw within
I just could not deny

He turned his gaze toward me
And as he looked my way
He seemed to understand my thought
Then he began to cry

As I reached out to touch his hand
I felt my heart would break
For softly from amidst the tears
I heard the young man speak
"I wish I knew what I should do
My life's not worth the living
There is no soul to comfort me
Or care what I am feeling

I wake up every morning
Hoping the day will bring
Someone who will befriend me
Or find some peace within

But each new day is darker
Even though the sky is blue
I cannot feel the sun's rays
'Cause my heart is broken through

The boys tell me I can't fit in
I just don't meet their need
They're focused more on 'making it'
And I cannot succeed

My family's tried to understand
And do the best it can
But their ways didn't fit with mine
So I just turned and ran

I thought I could do better
I shunned their love and care
But now I know how right they were
I wish they could be here

I broke their hearts the day I left
Thinking I knew it all
Their voices still ring in my ears
I still can hear them call

Please help me, if you know the way
Please tell me what to do
I want to find my way back home
Before my life is through

I need to ask forgiveness
Of those I've hurt so bad
I love them so, I've got to go
Back to the life I had

I just can't bear to live this way
So hopeless and alone
I need some one to take my hand
And show my way back home"

There were no words that I could speak
As tears fell from my eyes
I held his hand and smiled at him
And hoped he'd realize

He'd found someone who'd take his hand
I'd walk the way with him
Until the time he finds his way
Back home to love again

Two Visitors

Two visitors came to see me, both at the same time,
Both were trying to win control of my body, heart, and mind
One was dressed quite plainly, one dressed fit to kill,
I couldnít see the battle they were waging for my will.

One promised to give fame, friends and riches beyond compare,
Anything I wanted, it seemed, and while I was standing there,
He showed me how life could be, for a little while at least,
I couldnít see beneath the clothes, to recognize the beast.

The other told of hard times, of sacrifice and pain,
Ridicule and persecution, nothing much to gain,
But there was something deep in this visitorís eyes
That made me feel to choose Him, somehow would be wise.

I guess you know the outcome, I hope my life reflects,
The one I picked, the path I chose, the one that He directs.
But now at last I see Him, as He truly is THE KING!
So, did I choose so poorly, I wonder as I sing...

Eternal praises to my God at last in heavenís city.
Could I have been richer, more popular, what a pity-
For now all I have to show for the pain and unkind laughter,
Is a crystal mansion on a street of gold, living happily ever after.

Real People

Real People

What Does it Mean to be "Real" People?

It means a lot of things, and all of us can think of some of them.

Real people are people who are comfortable with their own truth. They love their own uniqueness. They do their own things, with no need to apologize for being what they are. Yet they are always becoming more than they are.

Real people stand just as tall as they ought to be, no more or no less, neither walking on tiptoe nor hanging their heads. They ask only to be taken for exactly what they are. Nor do they make other people feel that they are expected to be ten feet tall in a world where all are stunted by their own fears.

Real people have their daydreams, like all normal strivers. But they don't wallow in them. They accept their limitations and are content with achievement goals. They pick their goals with some advertence to the talent at hand. Escapism is a moderate diversion in their way of life. Flight from effort or from involvement with others is not a routine survival tactic for real people.

Real people are hurtable. At least a little. They care enough for other people's love to feel the hurt of being ignored, misunderstood or rejected. And their own experience of hurt makes them sensitive to other people's pain.

Real people aren't hard to talk to. They invite communicativeness because somehow or other, they make everybody feel their kinship with the human heart. Wherever you are, in loneliness, bitterness, shyness, or fright, they have a way of making you feel they have been there ahead of you. Consequently, they care.

Real people are like a pair of protective hands over the shoulders of a child. They are quick with laughter; they are not ashamed of tears; they are comfortable to be with because they let you know who they are.

It's My Pity Party!

Here I am again, Lord, sitting under a juniper tree.
A pity party now I'm having, and no one's invited but me!
When it seems like things for me, never go right, just wrong.

You'll find me here under my tree, but I won't stay here long!
I'll come to You crying for help. Explain to You why I'm sad.
And then when I finish talking to You, things won't look so bad!

I really know, my precious Lord, You have been good to me.
But when I'm loaded down with cares, it's really too hard to see!
Sometimes it feels so good. I guess it relieves my stress.

To just have a good pity party, where I'm the only guest.
I know it's never a good idea to get so down and out.
Sometimes it just feels good to sit down somewhere and pout!

Problems can make you feel like you need to put up a fight.
Because someone has tied you up, and bound you around so tight.
I'm so glad You're in my heart, Lord, so when I do get down,

I can call on You
and there You are
to help me get unwound!

Thank You, Lord!

Song of the Bird

A man found an eagle's egg and put it in a nest of a barnyard hen. The eagle hatched with the brood of chicks and grew up with them.

All his life, the eagle did what the barnyard chicks did, thinking he was a barnyard chicken. He scratched the earth for worms and insects. He clucked and cackled. And he would thrash his wings and fly a few feet in the air.

Years passed and the eagle grew very old. One day he saw a magnificent bird above him in the cloudless sky. It glided in graceful majesty among powerful wind currents, with scarcely a beat of its strong golden wings.

The old eagle looked up in awe. "Who's that?" he asked.

"That's the eagle, the king of the birds," said his neighbor. "He belongs to the sky. We belong to the earth -- we're chickens." So the eagle lived and died a chicken, for that's what he thought he was.

Which Are you?

A Reason, A Season, or A Lifetime?

People always come into your life for a reason, a season and a lifetime.

When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, or to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are. They are there for a reason, you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die, Sometimes they just walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilleed; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.

They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall, the season eventually ends.

LIFETIME, relationships teach you a lifetime of lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway);, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being part of my life.....

Dear God,

I'm writing to say I'm sorry
For being angry yesterday
When you seemed to ignore my prayer
And things didn't go my way

First, my car broke down
I was very late for work
But I missed that awful accident
Was that your handiwork?

I found a house I loved
But others got there first
I was angry, then relieved
When I heard the pipes had burst!

Yesterday, I found the perfect dress
But the color was too pale
Today, I found the dress in red
Would you believe, it was on sale!

I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blest
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

1. Never under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and a laxative on
the same night.

2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race
has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word
would be "meetings."

3. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never
want you to share yours with them.

5. And when God, who created the entire universe with all of its glories,
decides to deliver a message to humanity, He WILL NOT use, as His
messenger, a person on cable TV with a bad hairstyle.

6. You should not confuse your career with your life.

7. No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too

8. When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one
individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very
often, that individual is crazy.

9. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

10. Never lick a steak knife.

11. Take out the fortune before you eat the cookie.

12. The most powerful force in the universe is gossip.

13. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests
that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby
emerging from her at that moment.

14. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to
make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

15. "The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age,
gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep
down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

16. The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to annoy
people who are not in them.

17. A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice

18. Your friends love you anyway.

Thought for the day: Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that
amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic

The World Says

The World says I have no ambition,
Yet I hope, I dream.
The World says I'm not intelligent,
Yet I believe I am.
The World says i won't succeed,
Yet I know I will.
The World says my thoughts aren't important,
Yet I know they are.
The World says my voice won't be heard,
Yet I know someone will.
The World says I can't live without money,
Yet I know I could.
The World says I need many friends,
Yet I only need some.
The World says my Savior is dead,
Yet I know he lives.
The World says many things,
Yet I don't listen.

Choice and Accountability
Feel me. I am your freedom.
I am your wrong decision and hard consequence,
But then I am your sacrifice and your rich blessings.
Your knowledge needs me to grow.
I am the reason you have knowledge.
I am responsibility.
I am the freedom and justice.
I hold wisdom and foolishness,
Truth and untruth,
And the difference between them.
There are two parts to me.
One part cannot exist without the other.
I am a pattern, consistent and strong.
You experience me all throughout your life.
You need me to learn.
I will teach you if you pay attention.

I am your Choice and Accountability

True Nobility
By Edgar Guest

Who does his task from day to day
And meets whatever comes his way,
Believing God has willed it so,
Has found real greatness here below.

Who guards his post, no matter where,
Believing God must need him there,
Although but lowly toil it be,
Has risen to nobility.

For great and low there's but one test:
'Tis that each man shall do his best.
Who works with all the strength he can
Shall never die in debt to man.

Two Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes
which God gave me to hold
he said, "put all your sorrows in the black
and all your joys in the gold

I heeded his words, and in the two boxes
both my joys and sorrows I store
but though the gold became heavier each day
the black was as light as before

with curiosity I opened the black
I wanted to find out why
and I saw in the base of the box a hole
which my sorrows had fallen out by

I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
I wonder where my sorrows could be
he smiled a gentle smile at me
my child they're all here with me

I asked, "God, why give me the boxes,
why the gold and black with the hole?"
"My child the gold is for you to count your blessings,
the black is for you to let go."

Where Flowers Grow

A man journeyed to the mountain top in search of enlightenment.

He left all his belongings and possessions behind, and went only by himself. At the mountain top, he breathed deep, looking around just in time to catch a most Beautiful Sunrise coming over the horizon. He thought, surely this is where I belong, and he decided to stay. But, first he thought it right that he should return below and properly store and save all of his past possessions, for they represented his past life, which he would need no more.

When he returned to his home he gathered all his possessions, pictures, and momentous from childhood. He thought to himself, I do not need to store these, for I have moved from childhood. I do not need the things of my childhood. I will bury them.

So, he dug a hole, placing all his childhood possessions inside. Thinking about this, he decided that he could also place the things of his youth there, for he would not need them anymore either. He returned home and gathered his school work and other possessions from his youthful endeavors. He brought them back to the hole, and placed these things in it too. Now, he thought of his adulthood achievements, holdings, belongings, and possessions, the tools of his career. Again, he realized that he would not need these things any longer either. So, one more time he returned home, gathered all the things of his adulthood, returned to the hole, and placed them there as well, burying his last remaining possessions.

Once finished, he started back up to the mountain top. After a while, he stopped to look back at the hillside where he had buried his things. He saw only one lonely sunflower swaying in the wind where he had left the freshly covered dirt.

Reference: LIFE

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.

If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for which driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

Should you decide to send this to a friend, thank you, you may have touched their life in ways you will never know!

Satan's Garage Sale

Once upon a time, Satan was having a garage sale. There, standing in little groups were all of his bright, shiny trinkets. Here were tools that make it easy to tear others down for use as stepping stones. And over there were some lenses for magnifying ones own importance, which, if you looked through them the other way, you could also use to belittle others, or even one's self. Against the wall was the usual assortment of gardening implements guaranteed to help your pride grow by leaps and bounds: the rake of scorn, the shovel of jealousy for digging a pit for your neighbor, the tools of gossip and backbiting, of selfishness and apathy. All of these were pleasing to the eye and came complete with fabulous promises and guarantees of prosperity. Prices, of course, were steep; but not to worry! Free credit was extended to one and all. "Take it home, use it, and you won't have to pay until later!" old Satan cried, as he hawked his wares.

The visitor, as he browsed, noticed two well worn, non-descript tools standing in one corner. Not being nearly as tempting as the other items, he found it curious that these two tools had price tags higher than any other. When he asked why, Satan just laughed and said, "Well, that's because I use them so much. If they weren't so plain looking, people might see them for what they were." Satan pointed to the two tools, saying, "You see, that one's Doubt and that one's Discouragement -- and those will work when nothing else will."
