The Invitation
Come, you are invited, the invitation read.
No need to wrap a present, just bring yourself instead.
The honor of your presence would mean the world to me.
So please put on your finest and join my family.

Though everyone s invited, there are some who will refuse,
And of course, there will be others who'll make up a sad excuse.
My heart will be so broken to see them turn away;
Perhaps I can persuade them to come some other day.

I'm always here to listen; lay your troubles at my feet.
Come join me at my table, I offer you a seat.
I will provide a Robe for you to keep you always warm,
And when you put it on, it will protect you from all harm.

Accept my invitation, you are welcome any time.
My door is open to you, come place your hand in mine.
I'll await your decision, for your will is always free.
I have chosen you and I pray that you'll choose me.
God

Since First Thy Word

"And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined
in the prison...and his chains fell off from his hands."
--Acts xii. 7.

Since first Thy Word awaked my heart,
Like new life dawning o'er me,
Where'er I turn mine eyes, Thou art,
All light and love before me.
Naught else I feel, or hear or see--
All bonds of earth I sever--
Thee, O God, and only Thee
I live for, now and ever.

Like him whose fetters dropt away
When light shone o'er his prison,
My spirit, touched by Mercy's ray,
Hath from her chains arisen.
And shall a soul Thou bidst be free,
Return to bondage?--never!
Thee, O God, and only Thee
I live for, now and ever.

Faith Of A Hummingbird

There once was this hummingbird,
who when to his nest did fly,
found there was nothing left of it,
and angerly asked the question; why, God?

He ranted and raved; he fussed and cussed,
and was in such a titter,
that he lost his cool, and his will to live,
and died broken hearted and bitter!

On the other hand, his neighbor choose a different path,
for after grieving for a very short while,
he decided that rather than be
"down-N-out", he'd choose instead to smile!!!

He flew over many-a-ocean,
and endured many troublesome storms, and
instead of "giving up", and "throwing in the towel",
he decided to "just keep on keeping on"!!!

At last he landed on a beautiful island,
and before him there stood this lovely tree.
He flew right down, and in thanksgiving said,
"thank you God for having guided me...

To a beautiful island that I'd never have known;
to a tree so dense and safe", then lo-N-behold,
a "field full of flowers" appeared,
before his unbelieving face!!!

He hovered from one, than another,
their glorious nectar he did taste,
and when looking up to the heaven's in thanksgiving,
there was this "inner peace" written all over his face.

Then through a cluster of trees he witnessed,
and heard this melodious sound,
and in their midst he saw birds,
much like himself, who once lost,
had now been found.

They welcomed him to join them,
as reverently they spread their little wings in prayer,
for their fearful journey had now ended;
thanks to God's guidance and care.

We could all learn a valuable lesson from
our little feathered friend,
by making ourselves "keep on keeping on",
even though we "slip-N-fall",
"time-N-time" again.

For no matter how hard the journey,
God will, forever, be by our side,
and the reason for this is very simple:
for it's all because "we tried"!!!

It's so easy to "give up",
and so hard not to "just give in",
but each of us could conquer the world,
should we have the "faith" of our
little feathered friend!!!

Be In Earnest

Be in earnest, Christian toilers,
Life is not the summer, dream
Of the careless, child that gathers
Daisies in the noontide beam!
It hath conflict, it hath danger,
It hath sorrow, toil, and strife;
Yet the weak alone will falter
In the battle-field of life.

There are burdens you may lighten,
Toiling, struggling ones may cheer,
Tear-dimmed eyes that you may brighten,
Thorny paths that you may clear;--
Erring ones, despised, neglected,
You may lead to duty back,--
Beacon-lights to be erected,
All along life's crowded track.

There are wrongs that must be righted,
Sacred rights to be sustained,
Truths, though trampled long and slighted,
'Mid the strife to be maintained;--
Heavy, brooding mists to scatter--
Mists of ignorance and sin,--
Walls of adamant to shatter,
Thus to let God's sunlight in.

Boundless is the field and fertile,
Let the ploughshare deep be driven;
So, at length, the plenteous harvest
Shall look smiling up to heaven!
Sow the seed at early morning,
Nor at evening stay thy hand;
Precious fruits, the earth adorning,
Shall at length around thee stand

Be in earnest, Christian toilers,
Life is not the summer-dream
Of the careless child that gathers
Daisies in the noontide beam!
Life hath conflict, toil, and danger,--
It hath sorrow, pain, and strife,--
Yet the weak alone will falter
In the battle-field of life!

Wishing

Do you wish the world were better?
Let me tell you what to do:
Set a watch upon your actions,
Keep them always straight and true;
Rid your mind of selfish motives;
Let your thoughts be clean and high.
You can make a little Eden
Of the sphere you occupy.

Do you wish the world were wiser?
Well, suppose you make a start,
By accumulating wisdom
In the scrapbook of your heart:
Do not waste one page on folly;
Live to learn, and learn to live.
If you want to give men knowledge
You must get it, ere you give.

Do you wish the world were happy?
Then remember day by day
Just to scatter seeds of kindness
As you pass along the way;
For the pleasures of the many
May be ofttimes traced to one,
As the hand that plants an acorn
Shelters armies from the sun.

The Two Angels

God called the nearest angels who dwell with Him above:
The tenderest one was Pity, the dearest one was Love.

"Arise," He said, "my angels! a wail of woe and sin
Steals through the gates of heaven, and saddens all within.

"My harps take up the mournful strain that from a lost world swells,
The smoke of torment clouds the light and blights the asphodels.

"Fly downward to that under world, and on its souls of pain
Let Love drop smiles like sunshine, and Pity tears like rain!"

Two faces bowed before the Throne, veiled in their golden hair;
Four white wings lessened swiftly down the dark abyss of air.

The way was strange, the flight was long; at last the angels came
Where swung the lost and nether world, red-wrapped in rayless flame.

There Pity, shuddering, wept; but Love, with faith too strong for fear,
Took heart from God's almightiness and smiled a smile of cheer.

And lo! that tear of Pity quenched the flame whereon it fell,
And, with the sunshine of that smile, hope entered into hell!

Two unveiled faces full of joy looked upward to the Throne,
Four white wings folded at the feet of Him who sat thereon!

And deeper than the sound of seas, more soft than falling flake,
Amidst the hush of wing and song the Voice Eternal spake:

"Welcome, my angels! ye have brought a holier joy to heaven;
Henceforth its sweetest song shall be the song of sin forgiven!"

A Sinless Man - A Sinner's Death

Who are we to judge?
Conformed to our complacency,
Hypocrisy, drudgery,
Who likes me? Who loves me?
Who cares?
The Messiah cares - He is Lord.
A sinner's torture,
But for us he endured,
Beaten and battered,
Bloodshed and splattered,
Whipped and chained,
Scars remained.
ONCE LIFTED ON HIGH,
Realizing no lie,
That Jesus Christ is the truth,
And only fools need ongoing proof.

M O T H E R

M - is for miracles: the miracle of birth and

the miracle of managing the matchless madness of

raising a family. And, for the memorable life

messages you model - morals, mercy, modesty,

manners, mom-magic...

O - is for the oasis you offer open-heartedly

during those "off" days. Opalescent your outlook

- an optimistic island amid our oceanic life

odyssey.

T - is for the thoughtful threads of truth,

tolerance, and triumph with which you tenderly

wove the tapestry of our toddler-hood trek.

Touch, and transcend trepidation and fear. Toil,

and transform the seed to its destiny.

H - is for the humble harbor of home, where you

harmoniously handled the headstrong and headlong

teens with health, hope, and heart. And for the

unsung Heroine we honor you as today.

E - is for the everyday life examples you, as a

mother, effortlessly exude - endurance, economic

education, empathy, extraordinary energy,

exercise, ethics, encouragement, empowerment...

Experiential "echoes", silent peals to your

children, for all of time.

R - is for the River of Riches, which you

regularly replenish with your refreshing rain,

and from which your resourcefulness readily

radiates. Ripples or rapids, your River runs,

respectfully receptive to all God's relations.

GOD'S BOXES

I have in my hands two boxes
which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black,
And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I stored
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before

With curiosity, I opened the black
I wanted to find out why
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by

I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile at me."
"My child, they're all here with me.."

I asked, "God, why give me the boxes,
Why the gold, and the black with the hole?"
"My child, the gold is for you to count your
blessings, The black is for you to let go.
We should consider all of our friends a blessing.
Send this to a friend today just to let them know
you are thinking of them and that they are a joy in
your life.

A ball is a circle, No beginning, no end.
It keeps us together Like our Circle of Friends
But the treasure inside for you to see
is the treasure of friendship You've granted to me.

I CAN and I WILL

Life has it's hills and it's valleys,
It's a long and twisting road,
There are battles to be conquered.
Where seeds of doubt have been sowed.

When we see a high hill before us,
We may think it's way too high,
And we wonder if we can make it,
And should we even try

And then I hear God's still, small voice,
It comes from deep within,
"You can do this, my child,
And this time you will win!"

My heart leaped with assurance,
I CAN and I WILL!
NOTHING CAN STOP ME,
FROM CLIMBING THIS HILL!

It may be the highest hill,
That I will ever climb,
But by God's sweet grace.
I will do it this time!

And with His love and mercy,
Which covers us all,
I will have the strength and courage,
That keeps us from a nasty fall.

His wisdom and His consuming love,
Leads to sweet victory at last,
And we will worship at His feet,
As our faith becomes steadfast.

Rebellion, it IS a Choice

Let me do what I want we say, as our hearts rebel within.
Not what You want for me Lord, I'd much rather live in sin!
I want to have fun, for awhile at least, I'll get saved someday.
The pleasures of sin, let me enjoy, then I will change my way.

Then one day we see, we have nothing at all.
Lord, what in the world can I do?
If only I had asked the Lord to come in.
He would have seen me through.

I don't want to go to Hell, I now see.
Lord, forgive me and save me today.
I'm willing to turn from these worldly things.
Come into to my heart, dear Lord... and stay.

Thank You, Lord, for this last chance,
to ask You to save my soul.
Take my life and mold it, Lord.
I want You to make me whole!

It's so good to have joy in my life!
How wonderful to know that You care!
Help me Lord, to spread the Word;
There's nothing else that can compare!

Creation

The impulse of all love is to create.
God was so full of love, in his embrace
He clasped the empty nothingness of space,
And low! the solar system! High in state
The mighty sun sat, so supreme and great
With this same essence, one smile of its face
Brought myriad forms of life forth; race on race,
From insects up to men.

Through love, not hate,
All that is grand in nature or in art
Sprang into being. He who would build sublime
And lasting works, to stand the test of time,
Must inspiration draw from his full heart.
And he who loveth widely, well, and much,
The secret holds of the true master touch.

Forgive And Forget

Trials of life may cause us to fret,
Burdens often are heavy for us to bear;
We may be offended by someone and yet,
We need to place it all into God's care.

It is difficult, sometimes, to forgive,
It's even more trouble-some to forget;
We must press on...forgive...and live,
God is not finished with us yet.

Someone may have troubled you this day,
Leaving you disgusted and discouraged too;
Pause a moment and take time to pray,
Let God have His loving way within you.

It may be difficult for you to let-go,
Pause and think of what Jesus would do;
He is our Saviour and Best Friend to know,
He wants to guide you all of life through.

We must not let anger or bitterness take root,
Jesus did not let these things enter into Him;
We will be known to others by our fruit,
Take a moment to forgive and begin again.

Jesus set the example while on the Cross,
"Father, forgive them...they know not what they do"
This is the prayer He prayed and all because...
We must learn to forgive and then forget, too.

I Asked God

I asked for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me strong
I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve
I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brain to work
I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome
I asked for patience God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait
I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help
I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities
I received nothing I wanted I received everything I needed
My Prayer Has Been Answered.

To Walk With God and Angels
To walk with God and angels you need not take a step
Nor feel worthy, nor habor deep regret
To walk with God and angels you need not be pure of heart
With each day there's a new beginning, there's your start,

To walk with God and angels love your fellow man
Always have a kind word and lend a helping hand
Be not spiteful nor kin to a pharisee
Share your Love with others, be the best that you can be,

To walk with God and angels you need not be a saint
Nor wear a robe, or a collar too tight that you might faint
To walk with God and angels you only need invest
A smile, a kind word, and be loving, to pass the test.

Our Field Is The World

Our field is the world!--let us forth to the sowing,
O'er valley and mountain, o'er desert and plain,
Beside the still waters through cool meadows flowing,
O'er regions unblest by the dew and the rain;--
Let us scatter the seed, though in sorrow and weeping,
Though fields should be verdureless, wintry, and bare,
The Lord of the harvest hath still in His keeping
Each seed as it falls, and will guard it with care.

Our field is the world!--let us forth to the reaping;
The long day is waning, the eve draweth nigh;
Faint omens of storm up the heavens are creeping,
And the sigh of the tempest is heard in the sky;--
The work-hour is brief, but the rest is forever,
Then stay not for weariness, languor, or pain,
But forth to the harvest with earnest endeavor,
And gather with gladness the sheaves that remain.

Our field is the world!--let us forth to the gleaning,
The stores may be small that our labors reward,
Yet One from the height of His glory is leaning,
Attent to behold what we do for the Lord;--
Where, haply, some reaper has passed on with singing,
O'erladen with sheaves for the garner above,
May yet be some handfuls that wait for our bringing,
To crown with completeness the stores of His love.

Our field is the world!--whether sowing or reaping,
Or gleaning the handfuls that others have passed,
Or waiting the growth of the seed that, with weeping,
On rocky and desolate plains we have cast,
Yet each for his toiling, and each for his mourning,
Shall sometime rejoice when the harvest is done,
And know, in the flush of Eternity's morning,
That the toil, the reward, and the glory are one.

All's Well

The clouds, which rise with thunder, slake
Our thirsty souls with rain;
The blow most dreaded falls to break
From off our limbs a chain;
And wrongs of man to man but make
The love of God more plain.
As through the shadowy lens of even
The eye looks farthest into heaven
On gleams of star and depths of blue
The glaring sunshine never knew!

Faith Grows
See that tiny little blossom,
That knows not a single care
As it lifts its petals toward the sun
And blows freely in the air.

It pictures what my faith is like
Trusting fully in my Lord
Walking with my hand in His
And grounded in His Word.

The stem that holds my life upright
Above the grime of this old world
Is rooted in God s faithfulness
And guarded as a pearl.

The leaves so green and beautiful
Depict His amazing Grace
The blossom, moving, full of joy,
Reflects the image of His face.

He loves my life, He loves my soul,
And keeps them safe from harm,
Through the trials and circumstance
I feel no real alarm.

As I grow He molds me like His Son,
With the utmost love
Preparing me to join them both
In glory up above.

'Something For God To Do' Box

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.

If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD ('Something for God To Do') box. It will be addressed in My time, not yours. Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemotherapy who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember, things could be worse. You could be them!!!!

The Refiner's Gold

He stood before my heart's closed door,
And asked to enter in;
But I had barred the passage o'er
By unbelief and sin.

He came with nail-prints in his hands,
To set my spirit free;
With wounded feet he trod a path
To come and sup with me.

He found me poor and brought me gold,
The fire of love had tried,
And garments whitened by his blood,
My wretchedness to hide.

The glare of life had dimmed my eyes,
Its glamour was too bright.
He came with ointment in his hands
To heal my darkened sight.

He knew my heart was tempest-tossed,
By care and pain oppressed;
He whispered to my burdened heart,
Come unto me and rest.

He found me weary, faint and worn,
On barren mountains cold;
With love's constraint he drew me on,
To shelter in his fold.

Oh! foolish heart, how slow wert thou
To welcome thy dear guest,
To change thy weariness and care
For comfort, peace and rest.

Close to his side, oh! may I stay,
Just to behold his face,
Till I shall wear within my soul
The image of his grace.

The grace that changes hearts of stone
To tenderness and love,
And bids us run with willing feet
Unto his courts above.

The Seasons of Life

Our life is like the seasons
First a small child in spring
Then in the summer of our life
A young adult is seen.

Next we reach our middle years
We're in the autumn now
Then winter brings the final years
With wrinkles and gray hair.

When our life on earth is over
What's beyond our final breath?
If only you're a child of God
You passed the final test.

But if you don't know Jesus
Then woe to you my friend
For where your final days are spent
You can never comprehend.

Hell is hot and final
And you won't have any peace
You had your chance but lost it
And your pain will never cease.

The Valley Of Fear

In the journey of life, as we travel along
To the mystical goal that is hidden from sight,
You may stumble at times into Roadways of Wrong,
Not seeing the sign-board that points to the right.
Through caverns of sorrow your feet may be led,
Where the noon of the day will like midnight appear.
But no matter whither you wander or tread,
Keep out of the Valley of Fear.

The Roadways of Wrong will wind out into light
If you sit in the silence and ask for a Guide;
In the caverns of sorrow your soul gains its sight
Of beautiful vistas, ascending and wide.
In by-paths of worry and trouble and strife
Full many a bloom grows bedewed by a tear,
But wretched and arid and void of all life
Is the desolate Valley of Fear.

The Valley of Fear is a maddening maze
Of paths that wind on without exit or end,
From nowhere to nowhere lead all of its ways,
And shadows with shadows in more shadows blend.
Each guide-post is lettered, 'This way to Despair,'
And the River of Death in the darkness flows near,
But there is a beautiful Roadway of Prayer
This side of the Valley of Fear.

This beautiful Roadway is narrow and steep,
And it runs up the side of the Mountain of Faith.
You may not perceive it at first if you weep,
But it rises high over the River of Death.
Though the Roadway is narrow and dark at the base,
It widens ascending, and ever grows clear,
Till it shines at the top with the Light of God's face,
Far, far from the Valley of Fear.

When close to that Valley your footsteps shall fare,
Turn, turn to the Roadway of Prayer -
The beautiful Roadway of Prayer.

I am Thanking you Right NOW author unknown

Dear GOD:
I want to thank You for what you have already done.
I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards;
I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better;
I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me;
I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears ;
I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves;
I am going to thank you right now.
I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet;
I am going to thank you right now.
I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job;
I am going to thank you right now.
I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief;
I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed;
I am thanking you right now.
I am thanking you because I am alive. I am thanking you because I made it through the day's difficulties. I am thanking you because I have walked around the obstacles.
I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more and do better.

I'm thanking you because FATHER, YOU haven't given up on me.

IF......

If you can show love
and not retaliate
on your beloved
who continues to
manipulate and control.

If you can display
God's love when it
seems as if all hell
assails you!

If when you feel as if
you have come to the
end of your rope and it
seems as if your blood
begins to boil!

If you can remain calm
and forgive and still show
love in the midst of your
hurt and pain!

If you can do this Jesus
Christ has the reigns to
your heart and you are
a vessel chosen by your
Heavenly Father to bring
Glory and Honor to His
name!!!!!!

Ring The Bells

Ring out the bells of heaven!
Obey the great command,
That all may hear their melody
On mountain, sea, and land,
The chimes of glory sounding,
Ascending to the sky;
Jesus our Savior reigneth
Forever more on high.

Ring how he bore our trials
And sorrows here below;
Of his lamb-like, sinless nature,
Purer than falling snow;
How he gave his life to banish
The clouds of midnight gloom
That brooded o'er creation
And o'er the dreary tomb.

Ring of the well of Sichar
And the everlasting tide,
With which its sparkling waters
His imagery supplied.
Ring of his mighty power
To comfort and to heal,
His gentleness and sympathy
In either woe or weal.

Ring of his blood that speaketh
Than Abel's, better things,
And to the guilty conscience
Sweet peace and pardon brings.
Ring how he burst death's fetters
In rising from the grave,
And from its lasting bondage
Will all his people save.

Ring how he intercedeth
And ever lives above
For all who trust and serve him,
Rejoicing in his love;
Of the many mansions he's prepared
Of everlasting rest,
Whose joys no tongue can utter
Nor tell how glad and blest.

Awake, then, to your duty,
O church of Christ, awake!
Behold the beauty of their feet
Who the glad tidings take!
Reach out and ring the bells of heaven;
Blest be the hands that give
The truth, that all who listen
May hope and joy and live!
Ah, 'tis a wondrous story!
Good news to all the world!
The gospel means glad tidings
Wherever 'tis unfurled.

Great God, impart thy Spirit
That all who love their Lord
May see in life a flitting hour
To obey and speak his word.

Tears in Crystal Vials

What if the angels caught each tear we cried
In crystal vials trimmed with silver and gold,
To lay at the feet of the One Who resides
In Heavenly places to bless and behold?
What if the tears that we shed were collected
And strewn in the sky to catch the Son's rays;
His brilliant Light by each teardrop reflected
Painting a bow to remind and amaze?

The Sovereign Lord can change crying to laughter
And wipe every tear from our eyes;
Replacing our sorrows with joy-filled hereafters
And ashes with rainbows to color our lives.

To The Lamb of God

NOTE: The battle rages on every side and it may feel like you are
going through some deep dark waters. The very foundation you
are standing on is being shaken. Yet you are victorious and will
emerge triumphant, being made whole because of the
finished work done at the Cross of Calvary. May this poem bring
comfort and inspiration, as you go through these most difficult
and trying times!

To love and not be loved
To be despised and rejected
By your very own.

To speak truth,
And still be called a liar.

To suffer pain and humiliation
To be faithful in spite of it all.

To be condemned to die
Without any evidence of doing
Anything wrong.

To be hung on a tree,
And stripped of everything
Except God the Father's Love.

Yes, Jesus Christ the Lamb of God
Willingly gave up His life so that you and I
Can be free to live an abundant life,
Experiencing God's Love in the midst
Of your circumstances.
Glory, Honor, and Praise to The Lamb Of God!

IT IS

It is not about how gifted
And Anointed you are.
It is not about demons and warfare,
It is about your obedience,
to God!

It is not about being,
The best Scholar of the word.
Instead it is that you,
become a doer of the word,
And be faithful to God.

It is not about going to Church,
And being actively involved,
In ministry!
That is very good yet you,
Must have a relationship,
With Abba Father through,
Jesus Christ!

It is not about how much money,
You can give nor how much,
You can give to the poor.

It is time to get real!
And make Jesus Christ,
The main deal!
Yes make Him Lord,
Of your life today!

It is time!
For Jesus is coming,
It is time to be ready!!!!!

Following the Path of Faith

Having places of honor

Trying to fit in with the wrong crowd

Gossiping so we can give the latest dirty scoop

Distractions from faith

Taking the path which

may lead to acceptance

but at what cost

How do we get back

on the path of faith?

How do we discover

the holiness within us

and the others we meet?

Take the first step

Prayer is the key

Prayer leads to love

Love leads to service

Service leads to faith

Faith leads to God

Together let's follow this path

Each of us on our own path

but with only one desire

To follow our Creator

Amen
