Henry Mosley, a resident of Pennington Gap, Va. was born in Pennington Gap, Va. on Monday, July 30, 1928 and passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at his home at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Moran and Sarah Barker Mosley, one son, Henry Wayne Mosley, six brothers and three sisters.

Henry lived all his life in Lee Co. where he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local #1055, Appalachia, Va. and Miles Masonic Lodge, #165, Pennington Gap, Va. where he recently received his 50th. year pin. He was a member of the Smyth Chapel United Methodist Church, Pennington Gap, Va.

Henry is survived by his wife, Effie of 61 years of the home, one son, Richard Mosley and wife, Sharon of Dryden, Va., four daughters, Helen Pennington and husband, John of Kingsport, Tn., Norma Collingsworth and husband, Gary of Dryden, Va., Mary Newton of Dryden, Va. and Lisa Smith and husband, Ray of Coeburn, Va. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren: Jon Pennington, Beverly Doran, Tony, Todd and Amy Mosley, Crystie Staudinger, Justin Collingsworth, Jared and Bradley Newton, Stacie Wilson, Amanda, Kevin and Chris Smith, Craig and Brittany Mosley. Also, eight great-grand-children.

The funeral will be held at 8:00 PM Friday in the Sanctuary of the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Va. with Rev. Darrell Hensley and Rev. Paul Davis, Jr. Officiating.

Burial will be in Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until time of the service on Friday.

The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM to go to the cemetery.

Robert Mitchell Fee, 45, of Jonesville, Virginia passed away Thursday (October 20, 2011) as the result of an automobile accident.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Virginia, he was a custodian and carpenter in the Lee County School System and of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Fee.

He is survived by:

Benjamin Lee Cox of Pennington Gap, Va. was born in Middlesboro, Ky. on Thursday, December 27, 1973 and passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his home at the age of 37 years. He was a truck driver and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pennington Gap, Va. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patty Short Cox.

Beulah Dinsmore of Big Stone Gap, Va. was born in Keokee, Va. on Monday, July 29, 1929 and passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvie Dinsmore, her daughter, Amelia Collean Combs, her parents, Clint and Eliza Holmes and several brothers and sisters.

Beulah is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Dinsmore and wife, Brenda of Ohio and Dennis Keith Dinsmore and wife, Kathy of Kentucky, grandchildren, Brian Dinsmore of Ohio, Rick Combs of South Carolina, Jody Dinsmore of Kentucky, Jonathan Dinsmore of Kentucky and Houston Dinsmore of Kentucky and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Coolidge Clark
(April 22, 1924 - October 22, 2011)

Norton, VA Robert Coolidge Clark, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2011. He was born in Keokee, VA and was now living in Norton, VA. He was a member of the Cedar Ridge Baptist Church in the Crackers Neck Community of Big Stone Gap, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd and Ollie Bush Clark and six brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Getso and husband, Lawrence of Grand Prairie, TX, granddaughter, Tracy Graham and husband Philip, great grandchildren, JoAnna Graham and Christopher Graham all of Arlington, TX. One son, Orville Clark and wife Jane, two grandsons, Joe Clark and Jamie Clark and four great grandchildren all of Defiance, Ohio.

Robert was also survived by many nieces and nephews that he thought so much of.
Calling hours will be on Sunday October 30, from 12:30 until 2:00 p. m. in the Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p. m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Holcomb, pastor of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Georgie Robbins of Stickleyville, Va. was born in Lee County, Va. on Thursday, May 23, 1968 and passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN at the age of 43 years. She had been a resident of Lee County her entire life.

Georgie had retired from the Virginia Housing Authority and was a member of the Stickleyville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Collins.
Georgie is survived by her husband, Wayne Robbins of the home, two sons, Wayne, Jr. and Josh Robbins both of Stickleyville, Va., one daughter, Julie Robbins of Stickleyville, Va., one grandchild, Serenity, her mother, Jessie Collins of Duffield, and two sisters, Joetta Howard of Big Stone Gap, Va. and Norma Jean Craig of Duffield, Va.

Jeffrey "Lynn" Pendergraft

Jeffrey Lynn Pendergraft, 53, of Pennington Gap passed away at Wilcox Hall in Kingsport, TN on Friday, October 28.

He was born in Lee Co. and was a life long resident.

He was a graduate of Concord College in West Virginia.

Lynn was an outstanding athlete at Pennington High School and was a first team football all American at Concord College in Athens, West Virginia.

He was a Christian and a member of the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Tom” Pendergraft and Nancy Geree Hall Pendergraft.

Kingsport, TN Staff Sgt. Theodore Louis Pierce, Jr. age 46 passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at his residence.

Teddy was born in Jamestown, NY and had lived in Sullivan County,TN for the last 30 years. He graduated from ETSU in 2009 having earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He was an active member of the National Guard and had been stationed in Germany and did one tour in Iraq. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Louis Pierce Sr. in 1994.

Survivors include; His mother, Brenda Pierce, 5 brothers, John,Vincent (Jeff), Charles, Curtis, and Benjamin all of Kingsport, TN. 3 sisters; Mildred Mullins, Deltona, FL, Linda Marcum, Church Hill, TN, Debbie Pierce, Kingsport, TN. Several nieces and nephews.

Family will recieve friends on Monday, October 31, from 2 until 4:00 p.m. in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel.

Robert Reasor
(June 10, 1942 - October 26, 2011)

Big Stone Gap,VA Robert Dudley (Bob) Reasor age 69, passed away Wednesay October 26,2011 at Chestnut Grove in Dryden, VA.

Bob was a graduate of Powell Valley High School class of 1960 and received his B.S. Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He taught high school in Wise County for many years and later was aspired to "Read the Law" to become a Lawyer as a second vocation, but later chose a different path.

Bob rededicated his life to God in May 2007 and has gone to be with our Lord.

He joins our father, James Fugate Reasor and our mother, Laura Flo Stewart Reasor, also our step-mother, Jenniwood Addington Reasor. He leaves behind one brother, Dr. Alfred W. Reasor, of San Diego, CA; one sister Frances Reasor Presnell of Rockford, TN. One nephew; David T. Presnell, Jr and wife Amy of Knoxville, TN. One niece, Tabitha Presnell Marsh and husband Jared of Alcoa, TN. Four great nieces, Brittany Presnell, Samantha Presnell, Hannah Marsh, and Lily Marsh. Two great nephews, Brady Presnell and Isaiah Marsh.

The family will recieve friends on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 6 until 8:00 p. m. in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Pennington Gap, VA.

He had been a roofer and landscaper for many years and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Cooper and two brothers, Jimmy Cooper and Billy Cooper.

Harold V. Skidmore of Pennington Gap, Va. was born in Harlan, Ky. on Friday, September 19, 1941 and passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va. at the age of 70 years. He retired from a furniture factory in North Carolina and was in the National Guard and the National Guard Reserves, he was also of the Baptist Faith. Junior “Jack” Miles, 91, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday (November 1, 2011) at Brookhaven Manor in Kingsport, Tennessee after a brief illness.

He was formerly of Jonesville, Virginia and had resided in Dayton, Ohio for the past 60 years until moving to Kingsport, Tennessee 2 ½ years ago. He was a World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Zula Quesenberry Miles in 1994; his parents, Johnny and Lela Miles; and two brothers, Austin Miles and Hyatt Miles.

Charlsie Garrett Breeding, 66, of Ewing, Virginia, slipped away to be with Bill, the love of her life, Thursday (November 3, 2011) after losing her battle with breast cancer.

Her journey was a painful one but she is with her Lord. She loved her church, her family, the Tennessee Volunteers, and her family of friends. She loved helping others.

She was a member of Mt. Olivet Christian Church and was employed at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Breeding; her parents, Fred and Mildred Garrett; and one sister, Ann Fortner.

Surviving are:

One sister: Lillian Bean and husband, Richard of Knoxville, Tennessee

Brother-in-law: George Breeding and wife, Debbie of Louisville, Kentucky

She is survived by her husband, Bob Long; sons, Collin Long and Dustin Long; her parents Walt “Eddie” Poore and Carolyn Carpenter; sister, Tammy Hollander(Richard); father and mother-in-law, Rev. Robert Charles and Shelby Long, Ewing, VA; sister-in-law, Sherry and husband, Danny Lowe, Rose Hill, VA.

Jerry Allen Cope, 58, of Knoxville, Tennessee and formerly of Jonesville, Virginia, went to be with his Lord Saturday (November 5, 2011) at his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was a member of War Creek Baptist Church and was a retired transit driver with the Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Knoxville, Tennessee. He also worked for AAA Cooper Transportation of Knoxville and the Knox County School System. He served in the Air Force for six years, stationed in Saudi Arabia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Isaac and Eliza Jane (Seabolt) Cope; sister, Alice Bonnie Cope; and brother, Robert Lee Cope, Sr.

Garrett Lambert of Jonesville, Va. was born in the Monarch Community of St. Charles, Va. on Saturday, December 31, 1938 and passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va. at the age of 72 years. He retired as a coal miner and was of the Christian Belief. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Pearl Lambert, two sons, Rick Lambert and Daniel Lambert and his parents, Troy and Leona Long Lambert.

Garrett is survived by two sons, David Lambert and wife, Denise of the Wallens Community and Brian Lambert of Jonesville, Va., grandchildren Christopher, Kristen, Alexandria, Erica and Arin Lambert, one great-granddaughter, Victoria Lambert and one brother, Bill Lambert and wife, Alice (Pidge) Lambert of Wayne, Oh.

Pennington Gap, VA Pauline Cox Turner age 88, passed away November 9, 2011 at the Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, VA. She was a lifelong resident of Lee County, the daughter of the late Emmett and Maggie Pennington Cox. She graduated from Pennington High School, was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pennington Gap. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Turner in 1991, three sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors include; three daughters, Pat Johnston and husband, Sonny, of Piney Flats, TN, Elaine Litton and husband C.D. of Pennington Gap, VA, Jane Turner Myers and Johnny Myers of Pennington Gap, VA. Six grandchildren, Julie Estes and husband Greg of Jonesville, VA, Kelly Stokes and husband Lanny of Knoxville, TN, Kimberly Litton Lloyd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Brandon Myers and fiancé, Tiffini Edwards of Pennington Gap, VA, Matthew Litton and friend Ashley Bailey of Johnson City, TN, Lindsay Myers of Knoxville, TN. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, Va. Heather Marcum Overton
(November 5, 1984 - November 15, 2011)

Heather Marcum Overton, 27, of Rose Hill passed away November 15,2011.

She was a very special daughter & sister.

She was preceded in death by her step father, Jack Dean; papaws, Harold Witt & Hoover Marcum; mammaw, Agnus Dean; uncles, Anthony & Barry ‘Bones’ Dean and aunt, Martha Brown.

SURVIVORS:

Mother: Cindy Dean – Rose Hill

Father: Gary Marcum and wife, Ann – Rose Hill

Mammaws: Willie Witt & Gladys Marcum

Sister: Tiffany Dean & fiancée, Jonah Minor

Uncles: Mike & JoAnn Marcum, Chuck & Lisa Marcum, Greg Marcum, Lane Witt, Randy Witt, David & Tina Witt

Aunts: Sharon Kohutek & Karen Yeary

Special Friends: Bobby Carter & Jackie Craig & others special friends, uncles, aunts and cousins too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 Thursday, November 17 at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill.

Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Cook officiating.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 18 in the R.S. Campbell Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 a.m.

Millard Collins
(September 8, 1930 - November 22, 2011)

Millard Collins, 81, of Jonesville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Tuesday (November 22, 2011) at Wellmont Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Virginia.

Born September 8, 1930, he was a farmer and served in the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Edna Collins; his father, Barlow Collins; his mother, Etta Collins; one daughter, Betty Blanken; one great granddaughter; two sisters; and five brothers.

Surviving are:

One daughter: Jean Wood and husband, John of Jonesville, Virginia

Five granddaughters: Bridget Cheek of Ewing, Virginia; Shannon Roark of Rose Hill, Virginia; Misty Livesay of Woodway, Virginia; Amy Gregory of Rose Hill, Virginia; and Casey Blanken of Jonesville, Virginia

Seven great grandchildren

One great-great grandchild

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Young Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia with the Rev. Ed Woodard officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to services.
