Posted February 17th, 2010 09:29 AM IPToday is a day to celebrate the birth of one of baseball's greatest heroes. He's a man that made an impact on the game that can never be denied, nor forgotten. If not for him carrying us through the strike shortened 1994 season, baseball may have fallen completely off the map. This is why today we say happy birthday to....
Michael Jordan!What's up with that?

Posted February 17th, 2010 11:41 AM IPHappy Anniversary!!!
Barack Obama had no way to know it at the time, but when he signed the $787 billion stimulus bill into law on Feb. 17, 2009, it would be the last major legislative achievement he would put his signature to during his first year in office.

so he is going to take the blame for it's waste and failure to stimulate anything?
It will be a great thing if this is the only major piece of legislation he signs in his entire single 4 year term. Clueless in Carver County

Posted February 18th, 2010 08:05 AM IPWhat do the wheel, fire, and sliced bread all have in common? They're great inventions, of course.
But they all pale in comparison to the invention we celebrate today, for this is the invention that is necessary to power the smoke alarm that may save your life. This is the invention that helps to power on the flashlight that can aid in search and recovery efforts after a disaster knocks out power. This is the invention that powers CNT's cellphone that allows him to post incorrect hockey scores days after the game as actually been played.
Funny you list that...I didn't even know what it was..but you apparently did!
Dmom told me about it... Believe in Yourself

Posted February 19th, 2010 07:28 AM IPUnfortunately, we have to set a bit of a somber tone to start our Friday, because today we acknowledge the passing of one of the great vocalists/bored members of our time.
It was 30 years ago today that a backup singer for the Australian group, The Valentines, passed away... His name was Bon Scott:
It's a shame that after his split from The Valentines, the guy was never heard from in the music industry again. Wonder what happened to his career?
Anyway, it's nice have him reincarnated here on the bored, so happy 30th anniversary of your death What's up with that?
