Speaking of Target Field... Were the flags ordered down when Killebrew died? I can't remember.

Hardly.

No president has increased the debt more in one term than Obama....a debt he promised to cut in half if elected.

oil, thus gas prices, will be at an all time high come election time. They were below $2 I believe when he started. This will definitely slow all portions of the economy.

SuperValu just had an 800 job reduction plan implemented last week, more to come. Any sign of the economy turning around will only get the unaccounted for people who had previously given up looking for work back into the job market to inflate the true unemployment numbers back to a very scary level.

polish the Obama turd all you want.........It's still a piece of sh!t no matter who the opponent is.

Giving Obama a second term would be unforgivable for the short and long term financial health of this country. If he gets elected you will consider gold a bargain buy at its current price.

He has failed.

How many of you would operate a household or business budget in the following manner

Just add 8 zeros to the numbers above and you have the federal budget

Funny how TA's year old analogy e-mail doesn't take into account corporations like Goldman Sachs who paid 1.1% in taxes on their $2,000,000,000 profits. It doesn't take into account the fact that Citigroup paid 0% in taxes on their $4,000,000,000 profit the same year that Dubya gave them a $2,500,000,000,000 bailout. Exxon Mobile took in $19,000,000,000 and paid how much in taxes? That's right, 0%. How much of a rebate did they get from the IRS? $156,000,000.

That's the answer, BB. Well, that, and putting an end to Dubya's unnecessary war that cost us trillions as well. That'll save us a bundle in defense spending.

CNT, TA, and the rest of their crowd like to send around dumbed down chain e-mails and try to pass them off as the whole story, even though their chock full with half truths, and blatant lies. If they were smart enough, they'd simply do a quick check of Snopes.com before they spammed the rest of their sheep friends with this ****, and save them some storage space in their inbox. But why do they do this? To try and rile up the rest of their crowd that is scientifically proven to be dumber on average, and chain mails are an easy way to do it.

The real sad part (for you sheep anyway) is that the chuckleheads you're trotting out there as candidates are spouting the same garbage that TA is... And fighting like a bunch of 13 year girls all the while. Further proof that conservatives are incredibly stupid. You seem to think you have a chance to knock Obama out of office, and what do you do? Call each other liars and dirty politicians. That'll help. Morons.

And don't get me going on the Minnesota GOP. If they have the balls to run in 2012 on a platform of "fiscal responsibility" while they're in $2,000,000 worth of debt... Uffda. How come the sheep that donated aren't up in arms about how their money was spent with them?!

What's up with that?

we try to dumb them down so even you intellectshallows might grasp even the simplest of economic concepts.

Snopes.com???

Obama and Billery acted the same way in the 2008 primary- big deal its part of the stupid, inane process

The Fact of the matter is we have a major debt and Obama has done nothing to make it better. Even after you take into account the war savings his spending/ budget is fiscally irresponsible.

Tax all you want like you intellectshallows would love to do- take every dime from every wealthy person and corporation. We would still have a spending problem, we still would have a huge debt and we would no longer have the capability to function as a free market society.

Expect Taxes to go way up if Obama is re-elected Govs - yours and mine. It won't make a dent in the debt, and it will choke off economic growth. Anything more the feds have to spend will be spent and the debt will continue to grow.

Govs is proving it has been a banner year for lemmings

Tax all income as regular income.

Everybody needs to pay something.

Let the Bush tax cuts expire for everyone.

That's fairness.

Then cut entitlements as much as needed to balance the budget.

I agree everyone needs to to pay something, but goll-dang why make it so complicated? I'm for doing away with all the deductions and credits. Tax each income dollar once at the income level - if you want to have a small fed sales tax go for it. There is no reason for us to have to try to figure out our final tax bill at the end of the year

11-11-11 ( interest payments have gone up)

There should be no inheritance tax - why should the gov get rewarded for something they have already taxed 10 times over?

Agree on entitlements but lets also shrink and rid ourselves of unnecessary government agencies

Cornholio - Two Words - Foreign Policy makes him unelectable besides his other quirky traits, however if it was between him and Obama. I would vote for Paul before Obama.

* Make securing our borders the top national security priority.

* Avoid long and expensive land wars that bankrupt our country by using constitutional means to capture or kill terrorist leaders who helped attack the U.S. and continue to plot further attacks.

* Guarantee our intelligence community’s efforts are directed toward legitimate threats and not spying on innocent Americans through unconstitutional power grabs like the Patriot Act.

* End the nation-building that is draining troop morale, increasing our debt, and sacrificing lives with no end in sight.

* Follow the Constitution by asking Congress to declare war before one is waged.

* Only send our military into conflict with a clear mission and all the tools they need to complete the job – and then bring them home.

* Ensure our veterans receive the care, benefits, and honors they have earned when they return.

* Revitalize the military for the 21st century by eliminating waste in a trillion-dollar military budget.

* Prevent the TSA from forcing Americans to either be groped or ogled just to travel on an airplane and ultimately abolish the unconstitutional agency.

* Stop taking money from the middle class and the poor to give to rich dictators through foreign aid.

No problem with most of those common sense points that every American should support along with kicking the UN out of the states and resigning from the organization.
I have no problem with spying on non-American citizens. Profile away!

Problem with his view of nuclear proliferation in Iran/ North Korea or any 3rd world country for that matter. Let's not forget his laissez-faire attitude toward Israel

NK has nukes already and if you are scared of Iran then thats your issue, I am not. Israel will take the stuff out just like they did in Iraq.

Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu spoke before the US Congress in 2011,and he stated emphatically..." ISRAEL DOES NOT NEED AMERICAN TROOPS TO DEFEND HER...WE CAN DEFEND OURSELVES. AND ISRAEL DOES NOT NEED AMERICA TO EXPORT DEMOCRACY OR ENGAGE IN NATION BUILDING...ISRAEL ALREADY HAS DEMOCRACY, AND THE NATION OF ISRAEL IS ALREADY BUILT."

PAUL is making the same points in debate after debate.

But please carry on and stay with the same political machines that has gotten us to this point.

So it's pretty much like an average post here on MHF eh?

Well Robinhood when your kind is done frittering away this nations wealth on siocial programs that don't work, you can start beggin to your own kind, I wonder how giving the takers are???

BTW do you hate all people that have been succesful? or just the ones that don't feel they should enable the lazy ****** that want to live off others hard work?

This is America pal, and freedom is freedom....so if someone wants to work their ass off and become filthy rich and die with a coffin lined full of greenbacks, that's just as fine as some lazy arse that wants to live off others and not try at all, they can line theirs with wishes of entitlement....Just don't whine about it!

Even in your Darwin world their were those that had and those that didn't..and just because the smarter, resourcful one had something, that didn't mean the one that didn't was entitled to any of it, and if they tried to force take it they got the club! thus the begging of the Democrats today!

Quote:
As Americans sit down to file their federal tax returns, a simple question comes to mind -- what's a "fair share" to give the federal government in taxes?

For half the working population, fair means paying almost no income taxes at all.

"The top 10 percent income earners pay about 70 percent of federal income taxes," says Will McBride of the Tax Foundation. "The bottom 50 percent of tax filers have, they pay almost no federal income tax. They pay about 3 percent of federal income taxes."

President Obama’s phrase that everyone should “pay our fair share of taxes” has become something of a political mantra. He has used the expression in dozens of speeches, beginning back in his State of Union address in January. More recently, he told University students in Virginia, "we do expect everyone to do their fair share.”

But for many of the people who pay no taxes, the government also allows tax credits, which end up providing refunds.

"Close to a hundred billion in checks sent out by the IRS (go) to folks who have no tax liability," McBride said. "So the IRS is becoming a spending agency."

Arthur Brooks, head of the American Enterprise Institute, put it this way: "Half of the people who don’t pay anything in federal income taxes -- about half of them pay less than zero."

But Brooks says the system is tilted even more toward those in the middle class and below because they also get services from the federal government. As a result the per capita value of government spending exceeds what those individuals pay in federal taxes.

"Right now about 70 percent of Americans take more out of the tax system than they put into it, according to the Tax Foundation," Brooks said."That's something that should really alarm a lot of Americans."

The policies that left so many people paying no income taxes have been supported by presidents of both parties, and despite what Americans tell pollsters they believe is fair, that’s not how it shakes out.

"The interesting thing is that about two-thirds of Americans think that everybody should pay something,” Brooks said, "so they remember that our government isn't free."

Just like I said.

As always, I like to take the fair and balanced approach instead of some crazed ultra liberal rant like Govs and his kind engage in.

The problem is not with how much tax people pay but how much money is spent by gov't.

We all know that those in the top 10% pay about 70% of our taxes and that the evil 1% pay about 37%.

The bottom 50% pay about 13%.

Is that fair? I don't know and I dont care.

We have the highest corporate tax rates in the world.

We all know that revenues have been at or near historical all time highs since the Bush tax cuts.

The problem is spending.

I am deeply dissapointed in the Republican candidiates in that none of them have agressively refuted the idiots who think we can tax our way out of this or who irresponsibly suggest that the upper income people are not paying their fair share.

Especially when these same idiots support a system where many people's fair share is 0.

But I dont care if some people get a free ride.

Nor do i care if corporations do not pay any income tax. The money they make should be left alone by the gov't so it a can be used for growth and full employment..all of which will generate more tax revenue if given time.

Instead, the gov't takes away the money from the corps and pays it out in unempolyment benefits. Loonacy.

The rich pay more than their fair share, its OK if some don't pay any, and we have the highest corp tax rates in the world. So, whats the problem?

Could it be spending?
