It's clear that he has no interest in being here, so get something for him. It sure seems like his value is over inflated as well... For a guy who only plays about 50 games a season, he sure gets a lot of hype. I would think there could be a decent return for him.
What's up with that?

It's evident that he's not a real good fit for Minnesota and they're defensive style. Yes, he's put up great numbers in that system, but it's becoming more clear that he wants to be elsewhere. A friend close to the situation told me that Gabby longs to play in a major market city and has indicated to him that he wants to go to New York. Let him go while they can still get something for him.

As was said above, he doesn't wanna be here and he isn't a good fit. Get some young players who are out to prove something or maybe some picks for him. I don't think we can get a Hossa-like package for him, but we should be able to get somewhere near that.

I think he makes too much of a difference to not have. Maybe I have just been to attached to him since Ive have loved him since 01. He brings an edge to this team that is unbelievable. Teams will focus on him more, which can open opportunities for Mikko, who is also emerging as a star. Keep Mikko and Gabby together and things can happen for this team

Why does everyone think he doesnt want to be here? He has NEVER said that, in fact, he has said he wants to be here. He told his agent to make a deal with Minnesota first and foremost.

Hard to want to pay a player top dollar with the injury history Gaborik has. He is a great player when healthy and his all around game is night and day to what it was a couple of years ago. The fact still remains, he doesn't play as many games/year as the top flight players in the league. If he did I would say pay him. His goals per game played should be comparible to anyone.

After reading the comments in the paper by Paval Demitra today things are clearer. Both Demitra and Gaborik didn't like playing in Lemaire's system where you are expected to play defense too. Nothing worse than two whiny girls in the room.
To turn down the money he was offered is ridiculous.

Time for him to go. He and Riseborough will never agree on $, and that darn lower body injury appears will keep him at 90% for 50% of the games. Not worth mortgaging the franchise for. :clean:

a major market? how much bigger can you get than minnesota when it comes to hockey! sold out x every game one of the nicest rinks in pro hockey. on the subject he needs to be moved for a top shelf player or top shelf prospects. his lack of dedication and appretiation is what bothers me. no room for a big baby on the wild.
