You don't have his back. You're too politically correct to have his back. I got both your backs and I'm usually the one that has to calm the dog down. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.

No bites maybe because not a rivalry yet? I think it was at a Roseau Eden Prairie game last year that the Warroad girls' team came down to Roseau and were Roseau's loudest cheering section.

We really need some of the posters with the smaller IQ's if we're going to have fun. :missing: Is Moranville registered yet? When the season starts I'd expect a few people will come looking to comment about little Johnny's hat trick, they're my favorite.

I have a feeling the lady rams will opt up as soon as they can field both a V and JV team. Most of thier problems is AA teams dont want a 4 - 6 hour bus ride for only one team to play. Also the Lady Rams are very young as an org., only the 10th year in High school hockey and before most players did not start hockey till they were 12-14 years old.

There's only two of us warroad people on here...(we sure as hell don't claim UHL...he doesn't live here anymore anyway)

And we all know that's the real reason the boys opted up ;)

Roseau and Warroad had some close encounters in Minnesota Section 8A girls hockey this season.

Warroad defeated the Rams three times — all in overtime. The final Warrior victory against Roseau came in the section title game in East Grand Forks.

The neighbors and rivals will have some regular-season battles, but they won’t be meeting in the playoffs next season.

Roseau has opted to move up to Class AA for girls hockey, joining the Ram boys team in the highest class, where they’ve been since the 1997-98 season.

Terry Gotziaman, Roseau athletic director, said the school has been talking about moving up for a couple of years. The reason the Rams decided to make the move now is they have good numbers and strong teams at the youth level, he said.

The commitment is for four seasons.

“We’ll reassess after that,” Gotziaman said.

Gotziaman said Roseau’s move has nothing to do with Warroad also having a strong, young program.

“The boys are in Class AA, and we have some good youth teams coming up,” he said.

Roseau’s schedule won’t change for the 2009-10 season. The Rams will still play Warroad twice.

But Section 8A is down to six teams. New section assignments will be made later this month.

Warroad coach David Marvin said he’s disappointed Roseau is moving out of Section 8A to join Section 8AA.

“We had heard some rumors really late (that Roseau was considering a move to Class AA), but it was too late for our town to have discussion about it,” Marvin said. “But I’m sure there are some AA schools that are a little worried.

“I’m disappointed we’re not going to get a chance to play them in the playoffs — win, lose or draw. But obviously their program can handle the jump, and Section 8AA isn’t that deep right now. . . . But I just hate to see it. That game in East Grand Forks when we played them had quite a bit of intensity.”
