If the goaltending moves up a notch Bemidji will have a shot.

N Wright Co. is making some noise with a nice string of victories beating Brainerd/Little Falls 8-1 today. Anybody know anything about them?

What do you want to know? They are the Bison's rival in the Mississipi Eight and players for both teams play for the Northern Lights during the off season.

Pretty decent D's and some finishers on the offensive end. I picked them to win 8AA but in some ways I'm a homer.

I know they have the Blomberg sisters and are usually strong defensively. Is the scoring spread out a bit or is it those two? Do they generally play two three or four lines regularly? goaltending? Have the teams they played stayed with them and gotten a couple bad bounces or are they that good?

Where does your allegiance lie SBD? Coach isn't going to be happy to hear that you are a "homer" for the rival. :bricks:

No flukes....they will be contenders. Goalie is young but solid from all I've heard/seen. They have a number of scorers...Barger (SR), Blombergs(SO & SR), McDonald (SO) & Johnson (SR). Probably two solid lines and a 3rd that doesn't hurt them. They have 3 top defensemen (that I am familiar with).

If I had to guess....I'd say they are near the top 20 in AA.

More will be learned on Friday about this section as the Bemidji Lumberjacks host the Moorhead Spuds. Elk River has already mashed the Taters 6-1 this year.

I'm guessing it's a 3 team contest....Bemidji, Elk River & NWC.

Elk River picked up a few Zimmerman players when Zimmerman left the Rogers/Zimmerman co-op.

8A: Roseau, Warroad, Crookston
8AA: Bemidji, Elk River, Moorhead, North Wright Co.

Top teams in 8A are comparible or better than the top teams in 8AA

8A: EGF, TRF, Park Rapids, LOW
8AA: St. Cloud Tech, SC Icebreakers, Brainerd/Little Falls, River Lakes, Sartell/Sauk Rapids

Mid-Range and low end teams of 8AA are way ahead of Mid-Range and lower teams of 8A

I thought DL was 8A? When did that change? I know they are in the GMC.

I haven't seen Warroad yet but I will be there next week when they play Bemidji. The scores I have seen for them make them look darn tough. Bemidji took Roseau to the limit before going down and looked good against Grand Rapids last night. But they also blew a three goal lead at EGF and let Moorhead stick around after outplaying them. So we'll see which Bemidji team shows up.

Regardless of all of that. One team does not make a section tougher or weaker than another.

I would have to put the top of 8AA like this...

Bemidji
Elk River

Moorhead
N. Wright County

The reason I wouldn't give them a number rank is because we aren't even to the halfway poll. Elk River has a chance to repeat, but all the other teams listed could advance to St. Paul and not shock most people.

If you don't have an angle, dangle.

Bemidji has Crookston at home tonight.
Good test for both teams.

Warroad here on Thursday.

Roseau 5
Moorhead 4

Final in a back and forth game.

Moorhead has proven themselves worthy at times this year. If they can put it together, this will get very interesting.

Even the best team loses games.
Even the second best team wins games.

If you find my marble, mail it back to me.
I get lonely without it.
