First of all, you call it attacking, I call it questioning.

Secondly, didn't realize that this was an actual story from her life and recency - I thought it was a cut and paste from somewhere with the different font. So, Dmom, my intention was not to "attack" or offend you - sorry if you took it that way.

That's YOUR perspective not HERS.

Leave your religious views out of her business; especially when she is in mourning.

Sketchy thing to do Bon...

I can buy that explanation...please disregard my previous motion for BS as D-bag of the week nomination.

PS this is not a Cut & Paste response.

Now, if he'd pointed out it was an overzealous hockey parent using religion to justify allowing their grieving children to play a stupid, dangerous game...

Catholicism helps me to sleep at night. I believe and it is my particular faith, I'm sorry you don't have one.

Posting here because what kind of a mother let's their kids play hockey on the day they bury their grandmother?? It was a mistake, the oldest was not at all focused, which is very dangerous in a bantam game, especially a VFW game.

On the most horrible of days, my sons thought hockey would help. The youngest went into the boards, laid on the ice for awhile and has sore ribs today. The oldest also, head-first CFB into the boards. He's fine, but bad whiplash. Both boys went on to score a goal in their games, and I don't think it was a coincidence. The squirt's first of the year, The bantam's fifth. Reports are that squirt's Grandma gaurdian angel guided him through quite a crowd to get to the net.The Bantam's puck seemed assisted from the blue line, Grandma again?

To the most blessed of Mother-in-Laws: Thank you for letting me know that you're watching over my babies

(Edited by Dmom)

11 years ago, one of my best friends died.
On the day of his death, his son played in a hockey game. When he came off the ice after the game I was there and we hugged and cried.

He asked, 'What would my Dad think of the game?'
"He is proud of you. And he loves you. You did good kid."
Death is a strange thing. How we react to it is personal. Somethings are probably wrong, but continuing to live is not.

You did good Dmom.
And I am glad God is with you.

Thanks Elliott

And actually, and I will have a hard time saying this, in Bon's defense, when I re-read it I could have been talking about some "other" idiot who lets their kid play when they are grieving. The first draft had my kid's actual name's in it, I thought that wasn't appropriate, just because I am "out" doesn't mean they don't deserve some anonymity so I edited out their names.

I do take comfort from my religion, for that I am not apologizing.

Good for you - if it floats your boat and gives you solace, that's great I would like to know (when the "proper" time comes) why the things that happen positively to a person are looked @ as God's doing and the bad ones are not?

As far as letting the kids play hockey, I think it's great - if they were up to it, it's way better than the alternative.

Further - Ogee, can you teach me the font thing - it would come in handy.

Seriously? Or are you having a "Just messin with Sasquatch" moment?

Click the italic I box to the right of the bolded B box.

Give me some beef jerky.

There are many things that are essential to arriving at true peace of mind, and one of the most important is faith, which cannot be acquired without prayer.

Thank you John Wooden.

What works for John Wooden, works for John Wooden.

If Bon or anyone else can find peace and happiness on a different path, they're free to walk the path that they choose.

When the parents try to become a part of the game, then they should be tossed. That is exactly what the obnoxious ones are trying to do.
