Posted January 3rd, 2011 02:43 PM IPSucks that it's only a semi, but US/Canada is always fun, especially when it's being played right on the border.
What's up with that?

Posted January 4th, 2011 08:28 AM IPNot really. The Americans were beaten by a far superior team and likely 2011 Champ. This is THE major sporting event for Canada and they take a lot of pride in winning this. What % of the US population even would remotely know the game was on?

Wow. Up 3-0, they give up 5 straight. Canadian flags probably at half mast...
It will be interesting to hear what excuse Don Cherry uses this year. Fact is that Canada just doesn't have what it takes any longer.2011 MHF Biggest Rack contest winner - sorry Dmom
Yeah, probably right. What % of players in the NHL are Canadian? :rolleye:
Quote: According to the NHL, there were 375 Canadians, or 52.3 percent of all players, on opening-night rosters compared to 380, or 53.2 percent, a year ago.
If this trend continues, in 75 years there will be zero Canadians in the NHL.

Quote: Once the final horn sounded, the Russian players stormed off the bench to mob Bobkov. Then a number of players came together, lifting coach Valeri Bragin on their shoulders and tossing him in the air. Tarasenko motioned to the crowd during the celebration after several beer cans were thrown at the Russians from the stands.
I've never associated classy with Canadian..........

Posted January 6th, 2011 09:17 AM IPNeut - the game was held in Buffalo - a bit of a jump implyiing it was the "classy Canadians". Must have been a Canadian in the stands @ the Viking game back in the 70's when the whiskey bottle was tossed @ the ref. :rolleye:

Posted January 6th, 2011 10:24 AM IPEvidently, the Ruskies made the most of the beer thrown at them:
CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - Team Russia is now spending more time in Buffalo after being kicked off their flight early Thursday morning for being drunk. The team is now sobering up at the Days Hotel while they make new flight arrangements.
According to police, the players were thrown off of a Delta flight scheduled to leave Buffalo-Niagara International Airport because members of the team were intoxicated.
Team members were shuttled to the Days Hotel on Genesee Street to sober up area after their flight took off.
Why do you say that - because I use a serviette to wipe my face, Red and White are my favourite colours, and we have a Centre in the middle of our town?
