Puckett had a break out year when he was 25. Before that he played for 2 years and had 4 HRs

Hunter never did anything till he was 26. Same with jaque Jones.

Delmon is way ahead of where Cuddyer was at at this age.

The Twins waited for those guys.

I wonder why they gave up on Delmon?

He is bad defensively but who is their DH next season?

He probably will be a career DH sometime soon.

They can't count on that. He wants to test the market. When has anybody worth keeping tested the market and remained a Twin.

Plus if they keep Kubel he should play LF and Young should DH.

Morneau....he may not even play.

They say Ben Revere is going to play OF next year. He has no arm and hits .250 with no pop. WTF?

He'll play - particularly if he doesn't have to take the field all week.

Play Parmelee at 1st, Mauer behind the plate, and Morneau DH. When Mauer needs a day off behind the dish, Morneau can play 1st and Mauer can DH. It keeps both of their bats in the lineup and (theoretically) out of harm's way... Plus, if Parmelee is for real, you get his bat in the lineup more than half the time, and save some loot for a starter and/or shortstop by not re-signing Kubel.

Of course, based on this season, keeping both Mauer and Morneau in the lineup may not necessarily be a positive, but I'll go ahead and assume a little bit of a bounceback for both of them (based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever.)

What's up with that?

Joe Mamma Mauer and his Mommy have promised that little Joey will be in better shape next year without so many boo-boos for her to have to kiss.

So is he going to give back any of his salary from this past year?

If the liberal loonie wall- street protesters really need something to march against it should be against Joe.

Lohse had a great year...his first and probably only. He has been terrible since he left here posting some very high ERAs in the NL.

Punto...he would have been the Twins best defensive IF this year......by far. Think about that.

Awesome game to watch, one of the best games in WS history. I wish Texas would of held on after Josh Hamilitons dinger in the 10th.

The only complaint I have is Tim Mcarvers whiney voice, hey Timmy shut the **** up once in a while.

Skol game 7

Depends on the definition of "best" being used. Hard to call a game with 5 errors and 12 walks "best", but definitely one of the most exciting.

Anybody else think it had a little of the 2008 game 163 feel to it, with Texas playing the role of Detroit and just unable to slam the door after they had the win on multiple occasions? Felt that way to me last night for sure.

What's up with that?

I only watched the 7th inning and beyond, the only defensive blunder I saw was when Cruz did his Delmon Young impersonation in right field when he froze on Freeses 2 rbi triple in the 9th.
You need to catch that ball, World series hero moment missed.

Joe Morgan has my vote.

Didn't Dion Sanders go after Timmy when he played for Atlanta? I think he dumped beer on his head during the interview or something like that.

Skol Prime time.

And by the way, I'm already sick of hearing about the 1975 series comparison... Fisk's HR is the most overrated play in baseball history. It meant absolutely nothing because they lost game 7. Puckett's HR is the true standard bearer.

If St. Louis wins tonight, it could be come Freese's. If not, it doesn't mean anything... Like Fisk's.

What's up with that?
