Posted November 27th, 2007 05:12 PM IP ((So, all the basic rules- no PP, no GM, OOC in (()), etc. This is a roleplay about ferals, human-animal hybrids. You may have a character with any real animal as their beasty half, and a maximum of three people may have dual hybrids, who have two animal sides and one human. First come first serve, but they're supposed to be rare and I'm keeping it that way. Other rules may be added later as needed. Setting- the year 2065. Earth is virtually one big city, even the oceans have been paved over. The ferals are sort of the low of society, because the general tone is racist against nonhumans. By law, they have to wear Restraints, specialized computer devices that help control them. These differ because of the wide range of physical forms the ferals take, but they are mandatory and your character cannot have dodged the law. Any unRestrained feral would not be alive because they are shot on sight. There are no laws protecting the hybrids, so they don't have basic rights. Well, here we go.))
The Den is, to the casual observer, almost deserted. A few children kick a vaguely round piece of garbage around in an alley, playing a game with no rules. Some of the urchins are human, but the Den is mostly populated by ferals, a race of human-animal hybrids. Off beyond the alley, a lone woman with the fur of a border collie hangs her laundry to dry. She is a lookout. The Den is in reality as packed as any other part of the city, but home to more of those who make going unseen their business.
Ravena touches down, jogging a few steps to keep her balance, and is immediately mobbed by a wave of enthusiastic children. Chuckling, she untucks the latest grab from under her arm and begins passing out hunks of bread. The hairs on the back of her neck prickle, and a smile flits across her face. Finishing the distribution, she send the children back to their game and saunters over to where an observer waits in the shadows.
“Saen, you’ so a actor at heart.” The ocelot frowns and crosses his arms, appraising the girl before him. She stands with her weight on one leg, chin slightly lifted and an ever-present smile on her face. Cocky, but not without reason. Ravena is the best at what she does, and everyone knows it. Her short-cropped black hair is threaded with raven’s feathers, a slightly less obvious sign of her heritage than the sable wings, which span fourteen feet in full. Her hands conceal small claws between the knuckles, ready to be extended any time her fist is clenched, and of course, there is the cat’s tail to match her green-gold eyes. Though not common, Ravena is proof of the existence of dual ferals, beings who, through some genetic quirk, have been born two parts animal and one human.
Finally, Saen speaks. “Bread, Ravena Hood? Your surname is well-deserved. Always thinking of the less fortunate. The Trickster’ll be wanting something more substantial, however.” The girl grins, pulling a small bag from her pocket.
“Relax, I not skewed. I know wha’ Trickster wants.” Saen takes the bag, weighs it in his hand, and nods.
“I’ll be back with your week’s pay later. In the meantime, how about you learn to talk?” The girl laughs and goes to play with the children.
((Saen isn't going to be one of mine; he was just a casual excuse. Anyone can use him when needed, he runs goods and pay back and forth between the Trickster- crime boss of that district of the global city, female, - and her many "employees". If you know the Sci-Fi roleplay, think of this as sort of like that as far as setting. Interplanetary travel exists, but ferals can't own ships. Earth is still humanity's home planet. No life has been discovered on other planets as of yet.))

Posted November 27th, 2007 09:22 PM IP Shasa was disputed among the ferals, since she was only barely feral. Her small token of feralness from her ancestors was a streak of fur down her nose-line, and keen senses. The Trickster had put those senses to good use as a bodyguard of those who needed protection, not just herself. She had called her to her court, on urgent, and she, like the good pup she was, came at her call. As she approached the court, she could sense uneasiness in the air. Sidling up next to the Trickster, she was told, "We need you to summon someone. Her name is Ravena." She held up a rag, and I sniffed it intently. "That's her scent. Find her." I departed her presence when dismissed and took a deep breath of the air. Sorting through it, I could tell that my quarry lay in the southern corner of the city. Slipping into the shadows as to go unnoticed by the guards, I headed off to find this "Ravena". ((The Trickster is a usable character, I guess. If someone want's her, they'll have to except this.)) A stranger entered the Den; Ravena hadn't heard the lookouts' signal. Stilling the ball, she urged the children quietly into the shadows of the alley and sidled up to the newcomer, guarded but giving no impression of unfriendliness. "I no seen you before, friend. You lost, mebbe?" Her hand, tucked casually into a pocket, is touching lightly on her illegally owned blaster, police issue. Underground keeper of the keyboard of stuck vowel keys.

She continued, not waiting for an answer. "You have been summoned to the Trickster's court. I am your escort, so the wolves at the gates don't think you're dinner." She smiled briefly. "Come, we mustn't keep the Trickster waiting." She slipped behind Ravena, and jestured towards the way out of the alley. Posted November 29th, 2007 10:32 PM IP In a dark corner stood Tsu, clothed in black. A tight t-shirt obscured her features from behind, as well as very loose black cargo pants. Over her head was a black beanie, pulled down on her head to eye-length on the sides, as if to cover her ears. A brass armband stood out on Tsu's left arm, the inscriptions from an ancient runic alphabet worn down from generations of use.
In the darkness, her inhuman attributes were unnoticeable, the short downy, grey fur blending in with her pale skin color. Where there should be ear lobes peeking down from the hat was nothing, just silver hair.
Tsu's ears were on the top of her head, not on the sides.
Invisible to the outside world, Tsu kept her luxurious grey tabby tail wrapped around her leg, inside her pants. The only thing obviously inhuman from a distance was her face, long black whiskers on her upper lip sticking out like a cat's, and eyes bright yellow, angled downwards.
Her forehead had a faint tabby fur pattern, blending in with her hair.
The claws on her hands were not as sharp as most, but definitely were narrower than usual.
When Tsu walked among the humans, she tried to blend into the shadows, to avoid the stares and screams. The authorities could track her from her restraint, but in the streets, it was hard to discern her from the floods of people.
But, in the Den, Tsu proudly displayed her ears, her tail, as they were coveted by many. Her armband also showed her heritage, a lion rampant embossed in the side. Her mother was one of the most respected of ferals, executed by the humans after she did one of the most unbelievable deeds.
It was no question why she didn't want to be noticed in a public place.
((End of lengthy, confusing intro. Now for actual movement.))
Half an hour or so later, deep in the Feral part of the Den. Tsu's feline attributes were now proudly displayed, along with the mechanical band around the base of her tail. Wires stuck out of it, and were embedded into her spine, connected directly into the nervous system.
Atop a run-down house complex sat Tsu, looking down upon the almost deserted fragment of a city. This district was inhabited mostly by ferals such as she, along with an underground organization for the rights of the hybrids.
"Trouble's afoot." She noticed. Rain clouds were gathering, and when it rained, it rained.

Posted November 30th, 2007 06:14 PM IP Vidonia Ziv Iksar power walked toward the Den area with a purpose, assuming the rumors that the ferals lived there in hiding. She traveled dark allyways as shortcuts that were made even darker by the ever deepening nightfall. She shifted her form slightly so she could pick up any scent from behind her, as the wind was blowing at her back, almost seeming to urge her onward to the possible safety of the Den. With her shifted eyes, she already saw the watchers quietly sneak off, heralding her presance to who ever was of high authority close by. Well, whoever they were, they should figure out soon enough that she did have a few restraints, one on her neck worn as a necklace, and 3 on her tail as a tail braclet, coupled with a giant one as a belt. Not that there was really anything dengerous about a tiny lizard, especially a hiding coward of a chemeleon; but they weren't taking any chances with her, not with all the recent uprisings of ferals for better rights and stuff. Heh heh heh, knew the USA was still corrupted, even with all the precations the Founding Fathers took to create a non- corrupted government. Any fast movement of her tail past 3 feet was instently snapped to the belt ather waist, the one on her neck, the one at the base of her tail sent more-then-mild shocks coursing through her whole body, and her neck was squeezed so hard it felt she would suffocate to death. The restraints also have to be within 3 feet of each other on the tail as well, or the whole thing would repeat itself, except for the neck one.
((man, my intro is seriously pathetic X( -dies- ))

The Trickster was silent for a moment in what Ravena perceived as a this-is-going-to-take more-time-than-anything-should warning. She scratched at her Restraint collar, and it beeped a warning. She left off. Finally Trickster began. "Ravena, though this is my first time actually meeting you and I am not usually one to judge so quickly, you seem... rough in matters of education, but not-" the girl cut her off, grinning. "There no need flattery, boss. Cut to it." Trickster continued. "-but not stupid. Obviously, you know of the world around you. The ferals aren't in the best of positions. Downtrodden, if you will. I have some associates who are interested in remedying this situation, and I think you would be... suited for a position with them."
Ravena held up a hand. "Couple o' questions." A nod of acknowledgment.
"Stealing." Nod.
"Guns." Nod.
