Posted January 19th, 2008 09:53 PM IP "Eh?" Okay, this new place confused her. It was weird, fast, twisting, damp, dark, and maybe even a little safe. She was totally lost, but hey, nobody had tried to kill or detain her yet today, so.....good.
"Eh?!" she repeated as some kid ran past her, and looked around for a safe place to sleep. "Okay, one more time, anybody know where I can sleep that's not in a corner?" Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

Posted January 20th, 2008 02:10 PM IP ((nananananananana - sheets of egyptian cotton! .....sorry.....))
Skye awoke, feeling better, but still shaky. She didn't open her eyes.
A voice from someone in the cell softly said, "Gregory, how much time do you think we have?"
Gregory's voice was familiar - the stag feral's. Gregory answered. "From what I've heard, they wait until there's a group of eight - the machine takes us in groups of eight, you see - and that girl over there, well, she makes a complete set.
Thankfully for us, they had to drug her. They always wait 48 hours after a feral's been tranquilized just in case there's some chance the feral can be used for labor before they're 'annihilated.'
And thankfully, still, she's a horse, so she may be removed and used for labor, which again would make us a group of seven. We're all better off if that's the case. And she looks pretty young and farely strong. There's a good chance -" Here he broke off. "So, I'd say we have at least two more days."
Labor? This 'facility,' it's a consentration camp! The machine? What's that? Annihilation?
Skye's thoughts caused her to open her eyes slowly. Her gaze was met with the stare of the stag feral.
"They're gonna kill us, aren't they, Gregory?" Skye asked. But it was hardly a question. Gregory looked away. Skye hid her face, too.
I'll be strong. These people won't die because of me. Whatever it takes, I'll be strong. I won't be the cause of their 'annihilation.' I won't! she vowed, with such vehemance she almost thought she was screaming aloud.

Posted January 21st, 2008 10:06 AM IP Shasa grimanced. "That's not good. That's the way the the annihilation plant. If we're lucky, though, they'll wait a while. If not- we have two days. Let's get moving." She jumped out the window, grabbed the fire rail on the way down, and swung to an easy landing. "Come on!" She called to the others. Posted January 21st, 2008 04:37 PM IP Next to her, Ravena's solid determination made Tsu feel awkward. The weight of this situation pressed down on her; this is her first journey as Trickster. First as leader of the Feral underground. What if she failed? Every step, Tsu thought more of the weight of the situation, but also her determination. Vividly, she could picture a bullet, shooting through the air... I don't care what everyone says about me as long as it isn't true - Capote

Posted January 21st, 2008 04:50 PM IP Shasa leapt over the last person and skid to a halt in front of Filian's Five an' a Dime. She meanered back a bit, found Skye's scent mixed with the clean oil used in cop trucks. She followed over to a covered side alley. "This must have been why you lost them. You were probably flying, and this thing is covered till it reaches a main road." She sniffed in the alley. "Yep, that car went through here." Posted January 21st, 2008 07:11 PM IP "That's my job, not the other way around" She took off into the alley, twisting through the maze by following the scent till she she turned into an alley and was confronted with a wall. Back-tracking, she checked that the car hadn't gone anywhere else. It hadn't. It had turned right into the blocked off alley. She leaned against the wall and heard a creak. She smacked herself across the head. Duh! Hadn't she used these countless times while she was a guard? She jumped up and grabbed two hand-holds at the top of the wall and pushed the wall with her feet. As it swung in she called to the others, "Get in!" Posted January 22nd, 2008 11:36 AM IP Only once was the cell door opened that day. A large pan was pushed through the opening.
The shallow plastic held an assortment of stale bread, seeds, and something that resembled something that had once been meat. The meat smell sickened Skye further.
If it weren't for the constant promptings of Gregory and the others for her to eat (to become strong enough to be used as a laborer, Skye assumed), Skye would not have choked down the few handfuls of sour grain that she did.
((she's not a draft horse, btw. she's a 'sport' horse mix. so would the authorities still use her to pull things and stuff? and if so, what do you think she'd haul or whatever?))

Posted January 23rd, 2008 05:07 PM IP Two guards sat idly at the end of a long, intricately-intertwining web of hallways - impossible to find your way in or out unless you knew the place well. The halls were adorned with motion sensitive cameras.
Both guards were intimate feral-haters to the core. Both were heavily armed. Both were willing to find any excuse to kill anything resembling anything related to feral existence.
The florecent lights built into the low ceiling gave both men an eery glow.
The two idly conversed about the new feral put in cell 118. How they hoped it was too weak to work, how they relished the idea of tomorrow's slaughter, how they hoped a few would try to escape so they could hunt them down and finish the beasts themselves. Of course, no one ever succeeded. Ever. It wasn't an exageration; it wasn't a bit of hopeful optimism on the guards' parts; it was a cold, hard a fact.
((on that happy note, just because i really wanna see how ya'll handle this, you guys have pretty much just entered. these guards are pretty far away from your point, so you couldn't have heard them mention my location. these two guards are not the only ones - they're part of a well-trained team of well-payed, government-funded 'annihilators.' those two just happen to be the ones guarding the entrance to the cells. now, they're pretty off guard at the moment. probably gorging on doughnut holes, too, but if you get caught by cameras, an alarm sounds and it's pretty much gameover.
good luck!)) For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble.

Posted January 23rd, 2008 08:55 PM IP ((Glad I know the place!)) Shasa jumped down and the wall turned back into place. Seeing that all the cameras were in the same places as before, she jumped into a weak spot she had noticed on her tour as a kid, but no one had heeded her obviously. The camera didn't cover both walls next to it, so it was simple work to climb the crumbling wall next to it. She uncorked one of her potions. It was special, corked in green wax and waiting for the day she'd have to do this. She poured it over the camera and watched it work it's magic. She had brewed this one herself, but it had taken five years. It seeped into the camera, and, instead of shorting it out, seeped along the cord to the chips analyzing and storing the images. It wiped all memories of motion from the camera, and replayed the scenes left, then moved to the next camera via the cord. once all cameras' were down it worked((so I'm not Gming, I put this-)) for half an hour. If they had been smart, they wouldn't have connected them all to the same power sources and connected the power sources, but that's why this worked on their system. She waited for the sound of recording camera's to stop, then crept down and beckoned to the others. The potion didn't take out the sound systems, so they could still be heard, but the speakers were back up and always turned on low because no one on guard duty wanted to hear the trucks roar by or the mini avalanches, or the static. ((Now we can make all of Satans domain break loose if we want to.))
