Sorry.
High school and whatnot.

Anyone up for a new roleplay? I'll do one this weekend.
I'm not going to go all out advertising.
We'll ease back into the groove.

The Lair's not dead, guys, don't freak out.

Sweet.
I'll get something planned, then.

Ahoy.
We need a theme.
Something we haven't done much before. (Fantasy is out. Sorry guys.)
Maybe we could try pirates again?
Secret underground mafia society?
Something.

Ideas?

Pirates would be cool.

Has the Lair ever been subject to a realistic roleplay, straight up? Without the whole surreal thing or some major twist. If not you might consider that.

The first time it was suggested, it was pretty much shot down,
but maybe we could try again.

Realism is a little scary of a concept. I get enough reality now, as it is. X3

I was thinking more adult reality. Given the chance I would put on my best House impersonation and run cynical circles around all of your characters. Such a character would be best accommodated in a realistic setting.

Just a suggestion.

Pirates would be pretty fun, provided the history was relatively accurate.

Okay. I skimmed that, and imagined House limping in circles around a confused group of interns.
Then I read it again.

You mean, no High School drama?
Such things exist?
On the internet?

We tried a historically accurate Pirates roleplay, once. It was going pretty well, and then the Lair died. (As it seems prone to doing.)
Any mention of POCT, of course, was banned.

High School drama roleplays fail utterly. Just the way I see it. The characters are always annoying and any attempt to bring higher themes and plot structure into it fail dismally and end up looking ridiculous.

Realistic adult-world roleplays can succeed given everybody can be moderately complicated...I think that makes sense. Right?

I get enough High School drama from all the idiots who insist on making fun of me daily.
But that's life.

Realistic Adult-World things allow people to have their lives circle around more than just school.
Oh.

-resists urge to make a joke-

If you created a real world adult thingy, then you could theoretically be some sort of professional musician.

Huhuh. I saw that coming.

Perhaps "adult' isn't the right word for this. X3
Grown-up Roleplay? (I'm all growed up, mommy!)

Just, uh, nobody with the job of "very friendly person" allowed. (You know, the ones who always look pretty, sitting on the side of the road)

Dude. x3
I like the idea of secret underground mafia society. Sounds fun! xD
Pirates, okay, but I'm not really into pirates. You guys can do it if you want, though. x3 I don't care.
Maybe this realistic thing could work. It looks like you guys have a lot... planned? xD But, it does seem really interesting. I'm willing to give it a try.

Unless you take the position of scullery maid. Then, you should have a Cockney accent. x3 However, speaking stuffily is fun.

That's quite a crack list of stuff, there.
Then again, we are the Lairans. It's what we do.

We need to stay away from Fantasy. Far, far away.
Maybe some other old eras would do, as well? (Please, no medieval)
Something where we could stay away from stereotypes and anachronisms. (So, nothing we know nothing about.)

That would be fun. Court scenes rule.

Again I point out that realism is something that we know a lot about (if not by choice, definitely by exposure), so we could avoid stereotypes (if there are any in realistic roleplays. I don't know.)

Just pointing it out. I'm not pulling for it particularly.

Hahah. If we did a trial, I could re-present my KICK ASS closing argument that almost won the show in the Legal Eagles minicourse. :D
Court would be amazing, but I think D and I would spend the majority of our time correcting the rest of you. X3

Yeah....... anyhow, I like the realistic idea as well. Doing a high school RP could be good, but will most likely fail just because. -shudders away from Frenchy's perverted thoughts- We could do college instead..... although it's not THAT much different from high school, other than the fact that people live in dorms. Mostly...... I dunno. I'll just wait for y'all to decide.

We can relate too much to school. Watch all of our characters be exact replicas of us with a little personal-fantasy-flair added in "to be original". It would fail miserably.
If we are going to get this roleplay started anytime soon, I think we should vote or something.

I vote adult realism.

I was planning to make my character a doctor. A malpractice suit with you or D as my attorney? Just throwing it out there.

Vote for realism. Quick question though: if I want can my character be in college? If not, a teacher works for me.
