Well, I've delayed the decision long enough to save myself fifty bucks or so. I just bought a pair of BW tix for Mpls, Nov. 15. The expensive ones are gone, so this dynamic duo only cost $150.
don't try so hard.

Now you gotta get those Dylan tickets, and you'll get to see the two greatest songwriters of the rock era - in the span of a couple of months!

I have BW tix for Boston, but still haven't seen any good ones for the Hammerstein. They'll come up...i just have to keep checking the BW board.

And unlike you, Luther, i insist on sitting as close as possible. I've done my share of lawn seats and 30th row...these days, i want the best.

I've always had good BW seats in the past. And this theatre isn't so big, so I'm not worried about it. It's certainly worth sitting a few rows back to save a hundred bucks.
don't try so hard.

Yeah, i suppose it is...i've just spoiled myself. Which is what i firmly believe we should do. I don't spend a ton of money on myself, and i don't see BW anywhere NEAR as often as i used to. To me, it's worth the extra dough to be as close as possible.

That having been said, i don't generally like the front row. Hurts my neck!

There's a Beach Boys show from the Fillmore East in 1971 streaming for free at Wolfgang's Vault:

A very intriguing little peace. Anybody else have it? It's not as god-awful as it could be - in fact, it's not god-awful at all. Different, to be sure, and absolutely a period piece, but fascinating to listen to.

Some time next week I hope. Although I have low expectations (I wasn't allowed to hear it before hand in case I didn't want to buy it lol).

Could i ask for a favour though please -if someone does up it could you please do it via PM as I don't really want to be put in an awkward 'position', thanks.

some new releases you get lucky on at the library.

somebody buys it, then donates it to the library cuz they didn't like it and they want a tax deduction that would give them more than if they were to sell it back used to a music store.

i can wait. i got tons of stuff to listen to.

I'm not disagreeing with you guys. But put it in the context of 1967, or whenever they did it...it is definitely a product of its times.

I'll say this about Stevie as a songwriter [composer], tho: he's a better poet.

This is interesting: Scott Bennett.
Quote:
There was no auto-tuning of Brian’s vocals—we only fixed a few words here and there. He was impressed that we could change things like that. Brian would typically say, “Gimme a click.” Then, he would start pounding on the Kurzweil. He would invariably dial up the Honky Tonk preset, because he likes that fat key sound. We would pound out a tune, and then add a guide vocal. Nine times out of ten, he did great vocal parts. There are a lot of final vocals on the album that came from my home studio, including “Good Kind of Love,” “Midnight’s Another Day,” and “Morning Beat.” A bunch of tracks were built out of composite vocal tracks, but that’s because Brian doesn’t have any consistency to his mic technique when he is singing. He is usually reading a lyric page, or looking away from the mic, so it can be tricky to get his vocals balanced.
There is also more, and a Brian interview and a Mark Linett interview. http://www.eqmag.com/article/anothe...ng/nov-08/88777

don't try so hard.

I just got word that I'm going to Brian's Nov. 23 show at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ. It's very close to home for me. Anyone else from the area going to this show?
