And still the new albums come out! Just got the new Unthanks album ( live album of Robert Wyatt and Anthony Hegarty songs), and got a new Ronettes comp, plus The White album and two Stones doubles, the reissues of Some Girls and Exile. What a nice bunch. More new stuff next week too with a new Black Keys album. This year has been extraordinary for new and reissued stuff.

Taking advantage of the reduced price on Beatles albums again, getting both With The Beatles and Beatles For Sale. Never owned either of them before. Only two left now to get, the first and las ones, though I do have the Naked version of Let It Be. It might seem strange that it has taken me this long but I was never a huge Beatles fan - I grew up with them so I always loved the music but I think they were a little too all pervading in my youth so I took them for granted.

I've done a lot of filling in gaps this year actually, with The Beatles, The Kinks and the Stones among others. Steely Dan too, I now have all of theirs finally. Thank you FOPP!

More gap filling today, i was wandering around HMV and could easily have left without buying anything, but with some Xmas money in my pocket i managed to bring myself to finally buy Its Only Rock N Roll by the Stones (which i have never owned, but I love Time Waits For No-one), and the first Wilco album which I've somehow always put off buying.

Hopefully HMV will still be around next year, Its funny to think that i started off my working life as a trainee manager with them and but for being in a band at the same time could have made a career of it. You don't tend to see older people managing record shops though do you. I wonder what happens to them. They can't all become regional or national managers.
