I dont get any ads, so I must be on adblocker but where is this function anyway? I would be good to know, not that I want to deactivate it, but others may also want to use this.

If you're using Firefox, you go into add-ons and search for adblocker. You download it and activate it and then it usually sits to the right of your search bar at the top of the screen. You can click on it and bring up "Open Blockable Items" on any given page and select things you want to block. It blocks most ads anyway but it means you can block some of the more specific and trickier and intrusive ones. It's really great and you kind of forget that there were even ads there to begin with!

I've seen the scientology ad. I just ignore it! It can't hurt me.

Thanks Paul. Weird but true - I use Firefox for most of the other forums I visit but still use a 2005 version of Safari here. Guess it's tradition lol.
and Rob -don't you know the Scientologists WILL get to you somehow with their crappy sci fi and baked bean can truth detector technology

The more the S-word is said, the more the ads will show up. The bots find the keyword matches and tailor the ads like so.

I saw that and wondered how it had got there as Ian is quite right and it does tend to go on what is mentioned and no-one has so much as breathed the s word recently. Having said that I ignore all of the ads. I just find it quite funny what does turn up, both here and on the RR, which has thrown up some hilarious matches. They are different according to where you are too, so we get different ones here to the US for instance. Its just a consequence of using a free board provider. I don't suppose any of the ads have ever earnt a penny from this board though!

Like Paul, I kind of forgot ther were even ads on this board, since they are blocked (although I dont recall purposely blocking them, but then again at this tage the brain cell loss must be ncreasing by the day, so who knows)
