Thanks Mat, to be disturbing was the intention, so I am really thrilled that it is perceived as such.

I saw the title function on iMovie and had problems making the titles go where I wanted them to go, so I decided to just photoshop, which as it turned out was prebably better, since having moving titles I thing may have been too distracting from the actual pictures. I have meant to send you a whole lot of pictures from PA, lots of snow pictures.

The slow zoom to the window is good as it sets up the expectations of something 'out there' from the viewer's point of view.

Wait a whiles for me to hook up my new drive if you wanted to send me anything as my iPhoto library has 16000 of my latest pics lol and I cannot even upload my snow pics from my camera until I've moved some across. Although I saw 'Narnia' -that looked beautiful.

Here is a sequel of sorts, not as good, but I learnt more about titles, effects and cropping music. I was going to correct my mistakes, but then I thought oh sod it.

This time is the theme revolves around illusion and snow, with I guess a puzzling ending.

All pictures taken at the "farm" in PA.

Massive improvement with the titles, excellent!
Really like it, only thing is it doesn't last long enough i was really getting into it.

What is it with the novel Catcher in the Rye at the moment, it's everywhere, it's even on sale in HMV, is it an anniversary? Or something else?

Yeah John I did not realise that when you put titles in it eats into your sequencing time, and was wondering ehy the picture was doubled, now I know you gotta let it in and not cut it like the boob that I am did! AS a result of which its not long enough, and then I did not know yhink of resinserting the p[ictures without titles! Doh! Also next time, I am resizing all pix to one format before anything! Doh again! It really is DIY learning.

I did not know Catcher in the Rye was everywhere at the moment. I just checked Salinger on Wiki, and seemingly he was 90 on 1st January so that would explain it.

My idea was that Snow is a magical illusion for children, and since Holden Caulfield was expelled from a school in Pennsylvania, and his dream was to save children from falling from a cliff, it all kind of clicked in my mind.

An incorrect exposure with my pocket cam got me this ominous skyscape.

Thank you. Sometimes accidents turn out well. That one looked better than any of the "correct" exposures that I took along with it.

I don't believe you've asked me that before. I'm not a pro. If you saw all the junk I never post, you'd know that for certain. I'm just an obsessive amateur.

The Tree That Fell from Mathew Lock on Vimeo.

Hit the box with the four arrows for fullscreen mode.
It's also available in Hi Def Widescreen from the site -just click the HD box which appears in the top corner

PS i haven't used any 3D software (unfortunately lol) and most of it is photoshopped pencil lines placed into an animation application. Wish it was finished - I need my 500GB disc drive back!
