Posted October 6th, 2009 05:26 PM IP Well, for the first time, I had a hand at dehydrating cabbage. It was quick and easy...the way I did it. After I dehydrated it, I found out that I was supposed to steam it before hand. I just shredded it and put it on the dehydrator. My question is for anyone that has done cabbage before, do I have to steam it first? I just want some to throw into veg. soup. I hope I don't have to dump it! Central Illinois

I think that the blanching or steaming just helps the food to reconstitute when you pull it out of the cupboard to use it. If I can remember, I'll look at my instruction booklet and see what the recommendation it.

Posted October 8th, 2009 11:20 AM IP Ok, Josie! I looked it up this morning (sorry about the delay) and the instruction book that came with my dehydrator said that no prep work other than washing is necessary for cabbage. Hope this helps!
