Posted June 27th, 2011 07:46 PM IP Dad was admitted to Fairbanks memorial last night. His kidneys are failing and there is a large mass in his stomach. His BP is extremely low, 50% oxygen in his blood. Trying to get up there, it is difficult, I will have to take little dude with me. When I know more I'll let y'all know. Semper fidelis Deus

Posted June 29th, 2011 10:22 PM IP I received this email today from a missionary pastor up there, from our church here. I asked him to check on Daddy while he was in town.
Quote: Hi:
We went to the Hospital to visit R** and M*****. Blood pressure normal without medication- his out put and kidney function is about normal. He was having a colonostpy at 2 today. He might be discharged if everything is ok with the test. The throat procedure will be scheduled later.
God has been at work.
H*** |
Mom told me today that, dad's brother and sister are on their way there now. His siblings have never come to visit ever.
Mom is holding info from me, I can tell.
I am working on the logistics of getting there and child care here and all that good stuff now. I talked to the hospital and the nurse said it would probably be best if I wait for the biopsy results on the mass. They said it has to come out, but depending on what it is, they have to proceed differently.
Just keep praying, if specific, pray for a way that the 4 of us can get up there to see him. Little dude and dad have only seen each other that 2 weeks back in 08'. Little dude was barely 1. I would like him to see him again, so he can remember him as a person and not Papa on the phone or 'puter.
I truly believe in prayer and love y'all for you praying for us and for y'all loving God too.

Get's a little lonely around here sometimes without kids....just me and the squirrels. (OMG! Instead of being "the cat lady", I'm going to be known as "the squirrel lady"!)
I'll be praying for your dad, mom and you. Hang in there. Central Illinois

Posted July 1st, 2011 11:04 PM IP Thanks Y'all, I talked to him today, he is stable enough to wait at home till the surgery. Docs say that the mass in him has to be removed within the month! There is only 1 doctor in the state of Ak. that can remove the mass using some kinda scope, if the mass is not to large. If that doc can not do it, then he will be flown to Seattle. Dad just told them to do it the old way and cut him open and take it out. (Old War horse loves them scares) As soon as they tell me where the surgery is and if it is cancerous and the other particulars, I will be on my way.
Pray that we can all go to see him, wait how bout I not be selfish. This is scary to say out loud but pray for God's will in this matter, not my frightened little boy that wants to be with his daddy sin-drum. Praying for or asking prayer for God's will is not a prayer I pray much cuz I am selfish, it is a sin I have work on and starting now is as good as anytime, right?
Josie, thank you so much, your are a dear friend, my wife says your an angel.
Remy, Tree, Caplock, Josie you all are wonderful people and I pray for y'all all the time. I am proud to call each of you my friend.

Posted July 1st, 2011 11:19 PM IP I am glad you got to talk to your dad. I will pray for you all. I know of a lady who had a mass also, it just disappeared after prayer. Hoping that miracle happens here too. It can happen and I will pray for it to happen. God is with you all, and it is not selfish to love your dad so much. It makes me smile that you do. It is good to love that much. I am proud to call you my friend also, all of you. God watches over all of our lives, because we love Him most of all. West Virginia

Posted July 2nd, 2011 01:04 AM IP Density, like my mama always said, "It doesn't hurt to ask." I'm gonna go ahead and ask for a healing for your dad. However, I always have to keep in mind that God doesn't always give us what we want but he always gives us what we need. We may not even know that we needed it until it's given to us. "Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."
On the positive side, he doing well enough that he can wait it out at home. That's a huge plus in my book. Having spent a few days in the hospital a couple of years ago I came to the conclusion that the hospital is no place to go to get better! The beds are uncomfortable. They're always coming in to take your vitals at all hours of the day and night so you can't get any rest. The food is just good enough to be edible...nothing to tempt your appetite. And the whole time I was there I was positive that I was going to get some strange something that would KEEP ME THERE!!!
He's at home where he can be comfortable. He's surrounded by the ones that love him. HUGE PLUS!!!!
Prayers and love out to all the Density clan right now.

Posted July 28th, 2011 01:07 AM IP Hey Josie, thanks for remembering.
I got a call from Mom last night. She said the doc put the scope down dad;s throat and inspected the tumor. It is deeply imbedded in the lining of the stomach and the doctor said it is MUCH to large to be removed the way he was going to do it. They sent dad back home to await a new doctor to remove the tumor. This doctor said it was beyond his capabilities, I think that is how mom put it. She was really upset. She believes they are just sending dad home to die.
I mean how long till he is back at the hospital with his kidneys failing again because he can't keep any food or drink in his body?
I also found out that dad's siblings have pretty much been on a vacation while there and have not helped much at all.
I kinda expected that out of them, no ones is perfect, not me not them, I just wished they would have given dad a little more respect than they have been.
I guess now I wait for the next doctor to tell me something. My emotions are going, going, go...... I can't keep them in check much longer. I wished one of these doctors would say hey this is something we deal with all the time. Or, tell me to get my crippled self up there ,however i have to, and see my dad, cuz he might not be here much longer.
I know it is all in the Lord's hands and not the doctors' but I would love to hear audible words on what is the best course of action.
Sorry y'all I ranting and raving
