Well, I have been giving FlyinRyan crap cause it seems he could never get his camera to work right. I have never had problems with mine until this weekend. I finally did something great in a race (which I quickly found a way to blow) and don't have it on camera. Then it kept messing up for the kids races and for the whole weekend, I got no video of anything except for Dave's AWESOME speach at the start of the kids races... So, with that being said, what are some good recommendations as far as a good camera that won't let me down if a miracle happens again but has good HD quality. Thanks for your input.

I love and have had very few issues with my GoPro HD cam.

that is how mine has been too. Just this last race it started acting up. I am going to contact go pro and see if there is anything they can do with it but it is really messed up and won't function correctly.

i had the same problem with my goproi missed out on some good footage of race 2,3 and 4 but i finallyfound out threw a month back and forth emails with gopro that it was the stupid SD cards i got almost the whole race onmy gopro the meeting took up like fifteen min and before that it was running for 22 mins so iv got it right now try a new sd card

yeah those sd cards can be tricky.....although it would be really nice to have some type of meter or way to check the memory status. When my gopro works correctly, its awesome. When it starts acting up, I start to think it would work better on fire.

Exactly. That is exactly how I feel. I wanted to throw it across the dez when I figured out what I didn't record...
I contacted GoPro today and told them what it was doing. They said probably the camera. said to send it in and they will fix or replace. Seems that they are willing to stand behind it pretty good. I hope so anyway cause the videos I have gotten are great and this is really the first time it has messed up on me. Thanks everyone for the input.

I just have the poor boy version of the gopro and twice now it lost the data. Im going to start looking for another brand

I love mine, everytime mine fails its from operator error...I have forgotten to turn mine on 3 times now on the line and forgot to delete last weekends district 37 race so I didnt get USDR saturday.

John.......the camera a sold you......my old one......worked great till you and JK bounced it across the desert. I would have never bought the hd if I knew it sucked as bad as it does!! I wish the std. one would hold more time because I'd have my hd on e-bay and be buying an original. It was flawless unless you had an operator error. be sides that the hd cases really suck compared to the std. ones.

we use the contour hd. it works great and plugs right into the comp with no extra program. it also comes with a goggle strap attachment so we can switch it from helmet to helmet no problem. and they work really well as a hand held camera. shot all of sunday round 4 on it.

Erek,
I was eyeing that system up. In one of your videos you have helmet cam from a guy as he plows into a bush. Do you know what that cam is. I like the footage from it. It has some nice detail and color to it. As for the card I used a new one. maybe like Ryan said it could have been from the crash at round four. It did take over a week to find the camera.

Hey John, I think that guys handle on the forum here is desertracer. He has a couple videos out like the crash in that little rocky area in round 2 and then another one from a road crossing from a race in a different series or district race. I like that footage too. I been researching the Contour today. I think that I like it. Thanks for the info Erek.

THe crappy thing if Im thinking of the same person, "DesertRacer" went down at like round 3 or so, and somewhere between him crashing and getting help back to camp his helmet cam was misplaced!!! Sucks man. It does have some nice footage. Anyone wanna buy a gopro hero wide???? LOL

I may go to the Sema Show this year again. If I do Go Pro is always there.....I will be telling them what we think if I go. The video is cool and sound good,when it records like it should.
