KUDLA 21 KUDLA 1 Posts: 1808 Registered: Jan 2007  Posted July 17th, 2011 01:55 PM   IP              This is a new rule put forth by the BLM (it has been in place for trucks for several years but is being extended to bikes). Nevada, Arizona and many other places in the US already do this and now D37, USDR and all other events held on California BLM Land are subject to it. All Pits MUST have approved Gas Overflow Catch underneith ANY race vehicle that is being refueled during the race. Basically you MUST have a big piece of cardboard, indoor/outdoor rug, rubber mat, metal pan ect. on the ground infront of your pit. When you refuel you MUST refuel on top of the cardboard, indoor/outdoor rug, rubber mat, metal pan ect. Those without an approved Gas Overflow catch or those who do not fill over the approved Gas Overflow Catch will be subject to a timed penalty when leaving the pits (10-30 seconds) A Non-Approved Gas Overflow catch would include Paper Towels, a jacket, a piece of wood, dirt... Its pretty simple and USDR will have extra cardboard available at the event. We also have to find out exactly how much they are enforcing it... So we'll have the exact regs at the event. Make sure to have your carpet, cardboard, plastic mat, WHATEVER you've got to put on the ground.
