Posted January 11th, 2012 09:23 AM IP INTRODUCING THE USDR TEAM RACE TRIPPLE CROWN!
These will be hosted the Saturday of 3 of the 6 rounds (the non blm rounds)
Feb 4th - Gorman, Ca
Mar 10 - Anza, Ca
July 6th - SUMMER SPECTACULAR
2 Hour TEAM Race
Classes and Costs -
Each Class is 2-3 riders and cost is a PER rider fee.
You can ride your personal bike or share a bike.
$50 PER RIDER
T1 - Premier Class - 100% payback
$25 PER RIDER
OPEN A/B - All CC's
OPEN C/D - All CC's
40+ A/B - All CC's
40+ C/D - All CC's
Women ALL
Quad ALL
Mini ALL
Family Team - Must be related by Blood or Marriage
Riders, Teams and Points-
T1 - Premier Class
The T1 class is comprised of TEAMS. The Number and Points stay with the team reguardless of rider.
example: AS Racing T1 Team. Bike # 25. No matter who is on that bike, the #25 AS bike will get the points awarded for their finish. They can switch riders for the next round and the #25 AS bike will get the points awarded at the next round.
All Other Classes
Rider of Record is Awarded points
example: Rider of Record Tony Bartel teams with Steve Harper and Jeff Harper. Rider of Record Tony Bartel receives points for the series. He can choose to ride with Steve Harper for round 2 or ride with another rider but for Tony Bartel to receive points he MUST ride on the team.
It can be the Tony Bartel / Steve Harper / Jeff Harper team all year, but no matter what the "RIDER OF RECORD" must be on the bike and part of the team.
So that if Steve is injured or cant make it to a round the team can STILL get points at the next round.
The Rider Number will stay with Tony at each subsequent round and what ever number he earns for the season he will have for the subsequent season.
Points
Teams will be scored SEPERATELY and each will have a seperate title to earn. They will be scored on the Expert Points Scale. There will be no individual event trophies but there will be a season end award.
Rider Exchanges and Pitting
Riders can switch any time they wish but MUST switch in designated pit area.
Riders will be given wrist bands that MUST be switched at each rider exchange.
You will only be able to Refuel in designated Pit area.
ALL riders, reguardless if they are exchanging riders or not must go through designated pit area.
Sign Up and Numbers
There will be no pre entry for the Team Race. Post Entry only.
Numbers will be assigned on a first come first served basis and ALL bikes on teams will need to run designated number.
Number Designations
T1 - 1-99
Open A/B - 100-199
Open B/C - 200-299
40+ A/B - 400-499
40+ C/D - 500-599

i am a little confused on the registered rider. in the example when it says
It can be the Tony Bartel / Steve Harper / Jeff Harper team all year, but no matter what the "RIDER OF RECORD" must be on the bike and part of the team.
So that if Steve is injured or cant make it to a round the team can STILL get points at the next round.

Posted January 11th, 2012 12:02 PM IP this is completely SEPERATE from the regular series. No points from the Team race series will translate to the Regular race series.

what if Tony is Injured and cant make it to a Regular race? .... bummer
But since your team mates weren't getting any series points anyway they can form their own team.
OR you can put together a BARTEL team in T1 and go for it...

Posted January 11th, 2012 12:42 PM IP Open A/B is Expert and Intermediate riders together
Open C/D is Novice and Beginner riders together
I could label it Open 1 and Open 2...
and before anyone asks NO that does not mean an Expert has to Team with an Intermediate... it just means the Expert and Intermediate class is one class. SO the Intermediate guys will have a chance to line up with the Expert guys and show what they've got!
and before anyone asks NO you can not earn a transfer from the team race. USDR EVENT COORDINATOR

Posted January 11th, 2012 02:50 PM IP WOOHOO! Sounds SICK!! Gonna be fun to build a team and win this.
Question; If you have riders in different Age and or Experience level, or BOTH, i'm assuming they would enter OPEN class? And probably at the level of the lower experience level, or majority experience level if a party of 3?

Posted January 11th, 2012 04:10 PM IP So even though this "Tripple"(?) Crown event, has no real points relation or anything to our original events (i guess i should say), our earned experienced level (novice, int... etc) is still applicable?
Basically i am 1 transfer out of OPEN INT, so I would have to race with two different teams to compete in the whole 3 crown series?

Posted January 11th, 2012 04:14 PM IP for the Team Races you can team UP but you can not team DOWN.
You do not have to team with your experience level, but you can not race the C/D Class if your an Expert or Intermediate.
If you are a NOV and want to race in the A/B class GO FOR IT. But it will not count as a "Well I raced as an A/B and got 2nd so you should bump me on the Sunday Race" USDR EVENT COORDINATOR

Maybe a vidal race? or something close would be insane. I grew up in the Needles and Lake Havasu area so thats my old stomping grounds so it would be bittersweet. There are some sick riding areas out there. ok putting keyboard down my mind is whizzing. Rivermx in big river maybe? hahaha http://www.addingtonroofing.com/

Posted January 12th, 2012 07:01 AM IP my boat is ready to rock..
I hate to keep asking questions but I am just trying to figure this thing out. Can two registered riders ride on the same team?
So if i team up with jimmy for one race and greg for another race
I will get points for both of those races. But jimmy and greig will not get any points.
If they register a team as well would we both end up getting team points? 15v

Posted January 12th, 2012 07:09 AM IP maybe this will be a little more clear.
For team race one lets say I have a team and Jimmy has a seperate team. we both race with our teammates and recieve points.
for the 2nd team race we both lose our partners and decide to ride together as a team. Does one of us have to give up our points to run on the others team?
does that make sence?
again sorry for the questions. 15v

Posted January 12th, 2012 07:32 AM IP What you're saying makes no sense. I understand what you're saying but that it would be a possibility makes no sense.
Because say you get first. Now I'd be giving 2 separate sets of 1st place points for one 1st place. Makes no sense.

Posted January 12th, 2012 09:23 AM IP Ya that is why i was confused.
So if I had a team and was to lose my partner I could not team up with someone who has a registered team of their own. If so, one of us would have to give up our team to ride on the team we register under. 15v
