Posted July 20th, 2012 10:31 AM IP Alright! Since Summer is about half way over we're getting back into the swing of things.
Hopefully Every had a great 4th! I know I did.
Here are the updated point Standings
http://www.moto-tally.com/USDR/Standings.aspx
We are working on exactly what we will do about the canceled race 2. As its never happened before we dont really have a protocol. We are welcome to opinions on the matter as we want to be fair for everyone that showed up! We will either count the points as best of 5 for everyone or give everyone who entered "best finish" points for that day.
ALSO as many of you may or may not know we have added a round to the end of the series to keep it a 6 round series! It will be at The Ranch in Anza and it will be part of the Johnny Campbell Christmas Classic! It will be held Saturday as a Classic Scramble and will add to the fun of the entire weekend! Stay tuned for more information on that to come!
Finally, we are currently working on getting everything wrapped up for Round 4 and 5 so keep an ear to the ground for more information very soon and of course we're getting ready for 2013 as always!

Posted July 20th, 2012 02:26 PM IP Just a quick question, the Moto-tally page indicated the next race 9-22 is at Gorman/Hungry Valley, is that correct? Great for those of us who dwell by the sea.
Thanks Erek

Posted July 20th, 2012 03:10 PM IP As of now YES that is correct. We got hit pretty hard at the last round with BLM fees so we moved that round to Gorman where there is no Cost recovery and we can host our team race without a huge extra burden on the series.
we are still hosting November in the Desert as of now. The biggest issue is that as a 2 day event we are in cost recovery so there are a few ideas floating around. USDR EVENT COORDINATOR

Posted July 21st, 2012 07:51 AM IP I think either best of five or make the last round pay double points for race 2 only is a good idea. I don't really understand best finish. I think you mean doubling the points from your highest finish race essentially. I'm not opposed to it but I think just designating a race as double point payer ahead of time will increase participation and help will help with cost recovery. 2012 8v

Posted July 23rd, 2012 03:13 PM IP an even bigger factor was that while everyone "says" they want to get back to the desert our ridership was down for the Ridgecrest round. USDR EVENT COORDINATOR

Posted July 24th, 2012 10:38 AM IP I flew in from finland that morning and i was there ready to race. It would have been a hard one for me since i had been up for almost 32 hours at the time of the start. I was dead tired but i was damned if i was not going to finish. Looking forward to the next round. And i cant wait to get back to gorman that place was awesome. 15v

Posted July 25th, 2012 10:49 PM IP This whole situation with costs is bad and seems to keep getting worse thanks to the gov. and we will only have the opportunity to race one desert race for the entire us desert racing championship series. Anthony Vasquez Open Expert
