Topie: Quick Neat And Clean Ideas For A Cozy Good Smelling House

daisydayz Any more fun ideas for clean or cozy touches in your house?

Here's a couple things i like to do.

Clean toilet like normal then pour a some bleach and some mouth wash in the toilet. Smells good like a motel! Funny idea but i love it ---got it from my sis-in-law who got it from a relative.

I love how my mom-in-law always goes around turning on lamps when it starts getting dark. Instantly cozy. I tend to forget lil' lights like that and just turn on the big main light. Now I try to remember the lil' lights!

eager_hands I'm with you on the lamp thing...I don't like overhead lights, unless the extra light is really needed. DH grew up with overhead lights, so this has been a difference of ours, but not a big issue. Trying to think of some other ideas...

Same here!! :)

I love candles burning, esp in the wintertime. My sis-in-law gave me a candle warmer and I use that alot because my children have this thing with blowing out my candles!!

kaylouann I was gonna say the thing of simmering water with some cinnamon sprinkled in... sounds like it's a easy version of Valita's peels & cinn sticks. I've already put some vanilla in with the cinnamon too. I'll have to try fruit peels next time I have some. :)

And, yeah, candles! I go thro' so many in the winter! And I'm gonna try the toilet thing!

jimmysgirl This has nothing to do with smells or anything, but I sometimes like to play soft music, not singing, just music. I especially like piano music. I think it's relaxing. I like Jim Brickman, Dino, George Winston, etc. I started using Pandora Radio (online).

mother21 This might gross some of you germaphobics out there but I like to fix my water that i use to wash of my cupards and chairs and furniture in the kitchen sink then when i am done and let it down the drain the clean smell of the soap remains for quite a while.I spray the sink with some disinfecting cleaning spray if I don't forget...

twofus Flowers!! They always make a house look more inviting and sometimes help it smell nice, too. Once I'm a rich, old lady :D I'm going to buy fresh flowers every week during the winter.

For smelly garbage disposals, run a bunch of ice cubes and hot water through it. It will sometimes loosen a bunch of black yucky stuff, but by the end it'll be a lot better. Putting an orange or lemon through also makes it smell better.

delsgirl I just discovered after buying a very perfumed bar of soap, that it is actually working kind of as an air freshner in my tiny bathroom. It's neat because it's a very faint, clean smell that doesn't overpower.
