:D

'Another Nail in my Heart' has probably my favourite guitar solo ever. Wow.

'Seperate Beds' is just gorgeous in the best Ray Daviesian tradition.

WHAT A FUCKING ALBUM!

I'm was in Reading, but now I'm in Norristown which is right near King of Prussia. Just let me know when you'll be in the area.

Yeah, I've got a lot of time for "If I had a rocket launcher" :)

I'm no Bruce C expert but I like what I've heard, including his 70s stuff - his debut, and Night Vision (esp "Mama just wants to Barrelhouse"). Really like "Nothing but a burning light" and "Dart to the heart" from the 90s as well. Lost track of his recent stuff but....great songwriter.

Bubba Ho-Tep Dion "Inside Job" is a favorite of mine. But I don't think anyone would vote for it, so you don't have to add it to the mix.
March 25th, 2008 08:11 AM
Summ-a-Briz I would say Dexy's, The Cure, Joy Division...those all come to mind. Probably my faves are Dirty Mind, Talking Heads, Soft Boys, Pretender, X, Young Marble Giants, The Ramones, The Jam, and Elvis.

Nick I think I got everyone's suggestions into the master list. I stayed away from 'classical' and most 'jazz' because we haven't been doing 'classical' recordings and I don't know enough about 80s jazz to do it (except for Hancock and Sun Ra).

Buzzcocks was 79
Stranglers IV=Rattus Norvegicus released in 77
english beat=beat, in the list
second edition=metal box both 79

As for poll suggestions, here's mine in order of greatness

Gaucho
Seventeen Seconds
Dirty Mind
Closer
Colossal Youth
Kaleidoscope
The Great Rap Hits
Diana
Searching For The Young Soul Rebels
In The Flat field
Group Sex
Rodney On The Roq
Blizzard Of Oz

Nick Jeff, 2nd Chapter looks to have come out in '78, is this wrong and should it be in 80? Also I moved the Daniel Amos to 81. Now I'm interested in the 2nd Chapter album!
March 30th, 2008 12:20 PM
IanWagner Yep, definitely 78 and 81 on those.
