Great article, Jeff.
"When I saw Daniel Amos in concert at the time I was very upset by the kind of performance they were doing and I told them that unless they were less obscure in their Gospel presentation I wasn't prepared to take them to a secular label."
Oh, Larry.

And if you didn't catch it, the writer of that article was dating Larry Norman when she wrote it, just to make it more confusing. |

Have you caught on to that blog yet, Jeff? Great stuff.

Wow, I never even HEARD of most of that stuff.
Still no signs of the lost Children of the Day stuff, the Fatty Arbuckle material of the CCM world -- thrown away, lost and impossible to find. I STILL haven't heard that music. |

The one I would LOVE to find online is that Jesus Sound Explosion live album with Armageddon Experience. |

So, I put 'Roar of Love' back in 80, but am leaving both Daniel Amos LPs in 81...am I correct? |

Hey, Ian, I found the whole People album on a blog, with a full side-filling "The Epic" that I know Norman claims influenced Townsend to write Tommy. You have it? I can upload it for ya... |

I did a blog search on this stuff for a lunchtime break -- not even there. There is barely even a web presence of this band. It's almost like history has been partially re-written. From what I can tell, they were the first real Jesus Music band and they were huge among the Jesus Freaks, but no CD release, no publicity, nothing. Yes, the one member's current lifestyle may not be consistent with Scripture, but to completely obliterate the history, career and music? This is nuts. Ian, you have any knowledge/leads/anything? Even a rip of the Everloving Jesus Music Concert CD which is fetching up to $100 or more now? They at least had one track on that. |

Could someone do me a huge HUGE favor? Go to this link:
http://999dances.blogspot.com/2007/02/everlastin-living-jesus-music-concert.html
and see if this is still working/what you get. This is the CD I mention above. I would adore having a copy of this... |

Doesn't work! But I'll keep looking. |

I will, after Bull Of The Woods finishes. |

Nice segue. Altho I haven't listened to Bull in years. |

Because I sold my copy! I just want to add that I am not too good for Bull of the Woods, the final album by the 13th Floor Elevators if you do not count the fake live one! The overwhelming silence to my post has broken my spirit. I am lying in a pool of myself, Linda Thompson fans! What is wrong with you all? Do you have another board someplace? Why so quiet? You bunch of fairweather poll people! You fairweather johnsons. (POD people is more like it.) I know it's lunchtime somewhere but it can't be out-to-lunch time everywhere.
All this applies except to Ian who owns the place and I'm a big sycophantic douchebag. |

Jeff, ya seen THIS? |

I'll have to look later at home. YouTube blocked, you know.
Even if someone randomly puts up a YouTube video, the Wikipedia entry is anemic, and there are almost no hits for the act. I don't even know if I like them or not without being able to hear them. This is JUST like the Fatty Arbuckle movies in the US, I swear. |

Based on that clip I don't like it much.
There's a decent article in this CCM index though. |

Well, that is classic pure first gen Jesus Music. Seeing performances like that show how much cream of the crop Phil Keaggy and Larry Norman in that environment were. |

Their first album is on ebay currently for about a dollar, Jeff. |
