KUDLA 21 WE ARE UP TO 18 ENTRANTS!!! IN A WEEK!!! it looks like we'll definately have to split the class in two. one at 8am and one at 3pm.
I reccomend the kids attending the kids race enter the morning class so they're good and warmed up and dont miss the kids race trophy presentations!!!

SO LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR PREFERENCE IS NOW!!! I can tell you the morning class will definately be smaller and more personal!
April 4th, 2008 11:44 AM

Oh yeah its still on. I actually sent out an e-mail to everyone about it. here it is.

Hello everybody! we just have a quick update for the clinic. if you haven't heard yet Ryan broke his neck last weekend. He crushed his c7 vertabre and is in a Halo. He is totally fine and was actually out at the national hare and hound this weekend riding a quad around (which wasnt the best idea) and helped with the start banner and pits. We are still planning on holding the clinic but we are going to keep it a little closer to camp so Ryan can better instruct from the side of the trail. Also my dad will be out riding with us and we learned 90% of everything we know from him!

We will be having two seperate classes and if you havent specified which one you would like to be in please do so.

8AM - 11:30AM - Kids/Beginner/Novice - we will be able to do one lap on the USDR course at the very end of the clinic during the normal USDR practice session. this will be the perfect opportunity for the youngsters who are going to be bumping up to the big classes in the future to get a feel for the course in a safe environment.

3pm - 6:30PM - Novice/Intermediate/Advanced - we will focus more on racing strategies and a little more techinical riding (i.e. rocks, gnarlier uphills and down hills, passing strategies) we will not get to use the course for this one.

If you are still interested in being in the class let me know. I haven't cashed any checks yet and will wait until I get your confirmation.

Also if you are still interested and haven't paid yet please do so. We would like to have money in hand to donate to IRRC at USDR so please come out to Badgers Dual Euro may 10/11th or our VCMC qualifier in Gorman may 18th or make checks out to KUDLA and send to 1211 Indigo Pl. Oxnard, Ca 93036.

Thanks a lot and please get back to me ASAP!!! we've been looking foward to teaching this class since our last one and despite accidents that have happened THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!

actually the 10am (or 10:30am) practice schedule works out even better. we will be holding the clinic close to camp and not on the course for the first 2 hours. The practice is only one lap and we will then get on the course after everyone has left on their practice lap. We will take the kids and beginners through the course stopping at a few spots to do some instruction and then come back in time for the Kids Races.

will he be riding in the morning or after noon clinic?
May 2nd, 2008 11:20 AM
garrett balmer 51z garrett balmer would like the afternoon clinic.unless u think it will be to advanced (i don't think so/he is a very good rider) and i think riding with older/faster riders he will stay more focused & listen to instructers a little better.

thanks garrett's dad/brian

garrett balmer 51z erek & dad thank you for the clinic,my son (garrett) was in the afternoon session.although he was by far the youngest i think,he really enjoyed riding with everybody there.i asked if he tried any tips while racing & he said he passed a couple riders on the downhill "a downhill is nothing but a vertical straight-away".hope ther are more clinics in the future if yes & it is before sept. please post on the usdr website.maybe an early morning session mid to late summer!!

cjjcmg Garrett did very well! I know I learned a ton and did the same, passed some guy on a hill. I came over the otherside completely off the trail and charged down a bunch of rocks. All I heard was Erek's voice in my head, "charge".

I used a lot of what I learned in the clinic. The only problem is . . . I was riding above experience level before the clinic. I was so tired after the race for all the challenge I took on. I am a better rider today. Thanks Erek and Kriss.

rkarell Too bad they didn't teach you how to cross a road, Chris. Though I have to say, that was a nice superman...
May 28th, 2008 05:22 PM
cjjcmg It wasn't a road! And thanks for warning me. hehe At least they didn't have to teach me how to crash, eh.
