dave i guess if u are not a pro or last name of Kudla u dont have a chance of being on the race flyer . it is the non pro riders that keep the entrys hi so we have a series
October 16th, 2010 04:42 PM
Patrick304x my buddy greg johnston was on a race flyer last year and he was a senior intermediate. charley barney has been on a few, even mini kids...
October 16th, 2010 05:00 PM
dave it is about time i did not race last year . when you getting a 450
October 16th, 2010 08:54 PM
trac dave i don't choose....our graphics company IDP unlimited chooses. and he is very picky. this is the criteria:
hi rez, good photo.
wearing O'NEAL is going to get priority.
photo that shows action.
good looking bike and graphics.
professional appearing gear and helmet.
current riding gear.
professional number plate.
crisp clear photo.
sometimes bike or gear color.

sometimes me and tim, my graphics guy, look through 100's of photos....believe it or not, there are not many that meet the above requirements.
sometimes none do...so we have to go back a year or two.

October 16th, 2010 08:58 PM
Patrick304x Yeah that would be cool to see Anthony Vasquez get on there but his gear doesn't look professional enough hahahahahaha sorry had to say it.
October 16th, 2010 08:59 PM
trac dave and anyway......pro's and experts just flat out look better in pics, it's that simple. i hate most of the pictures of me racing.

Hey Anthony,I told ya that you should use your troy lee gear/helmet,thats some good lookin stuff!...
Anthony is one of the coolest down to earth guys I know.He is quickly moving to the top so I hope someone notices how smooth and fast he really is!

On A side note; Dave when can we start using our headlights again because its actually better for the electrical system?

Patrick304x Dave I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!!! And I tell him this all the time! I would be embarassed to be that fast and get a picture in a magazine with that gear. Honestly anthony, I'll even GIVE you my old Thor gear if you just wear a better looking helmet, the chest protector isnt bad just take off those dumb upper arm protectors
October 17th, 2010 12:46 AM
Patrick304x And put the elbow guards on INSIDE the jersey...

atrain Thanks for the constructive criticism guys, I think my green gear is sick, my helmet is vary protective, my elbow guards protect my elbows and gear. My dumb upper arm protectors on my chest protector protect my dumb upper arms. And I am known for that super cool stuff. It might not be the most expensive but it gets the job done. I wish it could look more pleasing to the eye but its what fits in my budget. So if there is a sponsor out there wanting to help out a young racer please let me know I will gladly accept the help. Thanks for a great series Dave, the picture on the flier does not mean a thing to me, just the racing does. See ya at round 6 Thanks.

P.S.- Thanks to my AS Racing buddies who helped out with my sweet looking graphics and my AS Racing bike rocks. And Michele for picking out my super duper safe helmet.

trac dave look at it this way, for us, flyers are like the cover shot of a magazine, it is our form of "selling our series" we look for the coolest, best looking photo that is going to generate interest in u.s.d.r. we want to pick the best PHOTO reguardless of who it might be. but on a second note, in advertizing, using an image of a well known name is going to be more effective. that is why companies hire movie stars and sports heros as spokesmen.
October 17th, 2010 11:55 AM
atrain Ya I understand Dave, and like I said the flyer would be cool but is not of any importance to me. Only the race and result is what I care about and work for. Thanks.

I wear all the safety gear I can find and afford. It just works. Elbow guards on the outside, upper arm protectors, mouth guard sometimes. Most of the time, when I crash it feels like I'm landing on pillows. I don't care if I look like a dork. Next I'll be adding a Shock Doctor rib protection shirt.

I wish I could start a race team and hire you. Doing all that you've done as a privateer is incredible.
October 17th, 2010 01:41 PM
atrain Thanks Captain Slow it means a lot when people see how much I love racing. All the protective gear is what keeps you safe and ready for that next race after a crash. I am fortunate to have as much help as I do from family and especially from all of the AS Racing team members, also a special thanks to Paul at AS Racing who without I have no idea how any of this would be possible. And by the way what is your name captain slow.
October 17th, 2010 01:55 PM

Isn't Oneal offering class champions a deal for 2011? That'll have atrain looking sharp and qualified to be on the flyer.

Jays2nd Anthony, TTR will buy you new gear if you wear the Jersey! Let me know size and type you want and we would love to buy you new gear. I may even change color schemes from Black and White if you want in. I know your heart...and your family...Team True would be honored to have you as part of our family as well!

For the record, I dont know how most of you know what he is wearing, All I see is a BLUR when he passes me!
