Topie: Baja 1000

Super Dave Found this post on another site and thought I would share it. Nick got a call Tuesday and they asked him to fill in for their rider that couldn't race. They left this morning and I'm going down Thursday night for friday race. Keep Nick in your prayers, I'm a little worried.

Harden/Burson/Penhall 6x Baja 1000
Just thought I would let everyone know that the team is leaving first thing tomorrow for a week of prerunning and the race.

It looks as though Nick Burson will be starting and giving me the bike in Ojos Negros. I will be riding roughly 100 miles and then handing the bike over to Ryan Penhall. Ryan and Nick will then take turns beating the whoops around San Felipe, with Ryan taking it to the coast. I will get back on and take it to the finish. With only a couple hours of night racing this year we are expecting to be done racing sometime around 7:30PM.

Nick was a last minute addition to the team as of this past week, but with Nick winning everything from Big 6 races, USDR as well as district desert overalls, we are extremley excited to have Nick aboard.

Along with the class 22 entry we also have the class 20 team of Chad Black, Connor Penhall, Jake Hullet and Brian Bebeck who I think all have the potential to put a 250x in the top 10 overall.

We are all excited to get down there and really appreciate all the support our sponsors have given us this year.

Hopefully we can bring back a Baja 1000 overall to District 37! Wish us luck!

2008 Sponsors:Timberline Construction, Performance Motorsports, Yoshimura, BRP, IMS, Precision Concepts, Black Motorsports, Dunlop, XRs Only, Alpinestars, Motion Pro, FLy Racing, Harden-Offroad, Smith Optics

Super Dave The team Nick is on is riding Honda 450X. Talk to Nick this morning and he had a hard get off at high speed. No injury, just sore. Practice bike had to be trucked back to camp and repaired. He was headed out again today to ride his section. Eric have a good ride and I hope we see you down there.

DuBato 31S On a sad note a good friend of mine who's family races trucks (out of Bakersfield), had their transport driver lose control somewhere in baja and lost his life, leaving behind 2 small children (no wife). I do not have all the details. I believe that another person may have past away as well. Since it hit near home I will update when I know more. :(
