First, thanks for the promotion, but I haven't been selected yet, still just CPT without the (P) part!
In the past I have maxed out on push-ups, but that was several years ago. I've flirted with 90% on sit-ups, best run was something like an 85% score. Never scored a true 270 (90% in all 3 events) on an APFT, so I think it's still a good goal to shoot for.
Thanks for the feedback! |
jwinston January 8th, 2012 08:26 AM | CPT (P) Dave - I thought you mentioned you were able to max 2 events in the APFT - running and sit-ups? or running and push ups? If you have been able to max 2 events, perhaps your goal should be set higher? .
I bet you can get a 290 or higher on your APFT by April -easily! |
ddegroot January 6th, 2012 09:10 AM | For January-
Attend 3 CrossFit workouts a week
Attend Army unit physical training every Weds AM (don't actually have a choice with this one!)
Run 2x week
5 unassisted pull-ups
Beyond-
In April I'll take the semi-annual Army Physical Fitness Test. My goal is to score in the 90th percentile for all 3 events, which means at least 57 pushups in 2 minutes, at least 62 pushups in 2 minutes, and run 2 miles in 15:13 or faster.
I need to faithfully use the MyFitnessPal app on my phone to track my food intake, that will go a long way towards my longer-term goal of dropping 15 lbs (which is the weight I was at 3 yrs ago, turning 40 hasn't been kind to my midsection!) |
