First of all, damn that was quick.

And I am very glad to see that Chad is still on board! I hope this cycle contains a lot of Knight vs Volga goodness.

Spooky Doom's appearance is probably an even bigger surprise. I am curious how that character will fit in here, with the tone of SPW usually tending to be more serious.

You won't find many handlers who are as serious about this game as Christian is.

I'm glad to hear he landed in a solid league.

Here are my thoughts on OTC and Hr 1... if I can keep myself from weeping everytime a Biz tribute segment airs =)

* CJ Messer promo - how do I know it's CJ Messer? Because he did pretty much the same piece on the ICWF VD14 PPV. Someone needs to get their schedules straight and/or develop some originality.

* I've heard of Bryan Vincent before from days spent in WILD and his short runs in IGA and a brief appearance at Legacy last year...oh wait, that last one was actually VVV under a mask. Regardless, I'll be interested to see what he can do with the "Darkman" moniker.

* Hmm, the Deathknell character is interesting but the promo was hard to digest with the usage of ALL CAPS. Plus a little explanation as to WHY Vik Avatar is so mangled would be nice.

* Now see THIS is the kind of promo I expect out of Frost. If he had done this at the PPV, we may have saw ourselves a new champion crowned. Glad to see he is able to take his loss and build upon it.

* Woo! Jasy O'Neil is back! And she is ready for action. Halfway through the promo, I got the sense it was going to be Jasy. Nice addition to the women's roster that will need veteran talent to keep it going.

* Nice promo from Tiffany to maintain her top chick status. Can't wait to see the look on her face when her opponent is revealed.

* WOW! Way to pull the wool over everyones eyes -- JASON STORM RETURNS TO SPW! Amazing. And there is tear number one shed by yours truly. Thank you Jon for a nice set of words uttered about The Biz and his company up above.

* And as always, Knight does it right. Thank you, pardner.

* As I read the opening for the show, I feel honored to have been in the company of all of you. Nice video, AJ.

* I knew my prediction of Owen Cage turning out to be C-Kid was accurate. Too bad he's going to get murdered by a determined Victor Frost.

* Well, I was wrong. Cage definitely held his own against Frost. And what is the deal with all the flashing? SPW is that desperate for ratings that it's resorting to tactics from mid 90's WWE? Eh, who am I kidding!

* Leave it to Art Blake to channel Chris Benoit when Eddie Guerrero died...or was it Rey...eh, regardless...nice one, Blake.

* Good match out of Nina LaRue. Maybe we'll see more of this Shane Taylor girl in the future.

* SPOOKY DOOM! Ha Ha Ha. Clearly a talent trade between SPW and ICWF went wrong because nobody should ever be stuck with Spooky Doom in the ranks.

* Right off the bat, Davis' new attitude is gold...just like his ring gear. Good match between both men but Davis walked out the victor even a Vincent made an impression on me and the fans, for sure.

* Good to see Owen Cage standing on his own two feet - although I wonder how much longer he can carry the comedic stylings of Colt Montana.

* GOD DAMN JAKOB VOLGA! You fooled everyone. Glad to see you stuck around, Chad.

It was an amazing trade right out of old-school fantasy football!

ICWF gets Walters, Evans, Galiver, Kendra Volga, Lindsey Page, VVV, CK Walker and Dave Pietka

SPW got the rights to Josh Curtis, Spooky Doom, The Hype and a short-term loan of Jakob Volga.

How could I resist?

in reality. no trade....of course. It is funny how stuff works out though.

And be sure not to miss part 2 of the program, where Spooky Doom claims the Biz's soul, locks it in his uncle's urn, melts the urn into prime pimp wear and parades it for the rest of the show!

"This mother fucker URRRRR!!! YIPE YIPE YIPE YIPE YIPE!!!! While we were eating fucking hamburgers, I was in heaven!"

I just couldn't leave without HJV v. Sammy with no background stuff, just a good old fashioned one on one...

Hr 2 thoughts....

* Nice package to relive the birth of the NEW guide on the "Tour De Carnage" -- Andrew Davis.

* And the man himself comes out -- I hafta say that the self obsessed heel gimmick comes across one hundred percent. I love this new Andrew Davis and may finally pay attention to him. =)

* Broussard v. Deathknell: Anyone else curious as to how five minutes of match action could have passed in such a short amount of space? And to be honest, i'm shocked Broussard lost to this guy.

* Spooky Doom: No comment. Matter of fact, I won't be discussing his actions on SPW shows in future reviews.

* Interesting segment from Darkman/Jackal Bryan Vincent.

* Tiffany Lane v. Jasy O'Neil: What a mean streak from O'Neil. Now I see why Mike McCarey divorced her. *grin* And WOW! New Women's champ....amazing match with a terrific finish.

* Truly powerful stuff from AJ Black -- I want to believe that what was supposedly IC screams alot of OOC and regardless of the mockery that I extend towards SPW or AJ Black, it truly is because I expect alot from this company and am hurt when it doesn't deliver.

* THAT GOD DAMN S.O.B. ANDREW DAVIS! You knew someone was going to ruin the night and it was going to be him.

* Nice team work by Wild & Storm in the main event. Congrats to Volga & Knight on the victory but most of all...

Thank you to everyone who made my time in SPW a special one. When I decided to end The Biz's life and career, I never expected the attention that I got in this one show.

Settle down Paul don't let success go to your head. You know I never really do this but because this is now a team effort in every sense of the word I'M going to give my observations on the card too and some backstage insight on what Jon and I were thinking along with the handlers in booking this show:

OTC: I liked the flashes that were on there, and those mystery guys who first showed up- everyone who roleplayed specifically for the flash show brought the money. I wasn't sure if the mystery talent like Jasy and Storm would reveal themselves but they did and we ran with it at the start of

CONQUEST:

First off I was a bit concerned about starting with the tribute promo and to be honest the beginning was the hardest part to create it actually came last, because we just did it with Lazarus at Carnage but there really wasn't a choice once the final Biz chant was written in the main event. We went back and then began with the ten bell salute to bookend the storyline. It made the most sense as the major inring shocker happened at the end of Hr 1.

-Owen Cage welcome aboard, we expect big things. Like Shaun said he brought the big boy pants and I know Adam Cage's handler gave him full blessing for the gimmick change. It's also refreshing to see a character develop a new persona instead of a handler just ditching one char for a new one.

-The Serena/Kieran spot was a character breaking moment if I've ever seen one but I didn't think Biz or Lil Biz would mind.

-I agree, innovative idea from A Mr. Art Blake as usual.

-I want to note that a lot of characters busted out new maneuvers, new entrances, slight gimmick to full gimmick changes and really shone their stuff. That's exactly what everyone should be doing. Snap Powerslam Driver would probably kill someone Frost.

-Nina Larue carving out an identity for herself, wicked slingshot DDT from the ring to the ground the rest was academic. The squash matches not being on OTC actually mean more on Conquest and when done well they definitely serve a purpose to build up wins and contenders.

-Andrew Davis beats The Darkman, great moveset from both as Davis is really coming full circle, I've seen him at his best and this match was nothing short of a continuity. He is totally believable in his role and I know Ethan being a real life actor brings that through. Darkman's later angle as a stalker? needed a loss so I'm glad for both their sake that this went through. Bryan Vincent I was a fan of in SSGC and when we needed new talent he was one of the first characters I went hunting for. Glad to see him in this new persona, more matured and serious then "The Jackal"

-Owen Cage firing Serena may or may not last as they are really good together but we'll see how it goes and what develops. And they said the nudity was gratuitous, see it was a plot device! Just like every bikini contest we do usually ends with someone going thru a burning table. Just saying. And who could dump Colt, he's such the non sequitor and always oblivious.

-The "Heartless" Jakob Volga shocker and we tried harder than anything to keep people in the dark about that until the release of the show. I didn't even tell Pedro from the CL Cup Tribute card that I wanted to send Volga but I knew a few of you knew so kudos to everyone for not having the entire circles know by press time. His return was fired up and a little bit of a shoot and those sometimes really bring out the best. Finally his face reaction really works and Sammy made it happen as we build towards our main event.

CONQUEST HR 2!

-In all honesty I loved the promo and work with Davis, he's back to where he used to be if not eclipsing his past accomplishments in terms of heat level. Some of the things this guy says should get him shot or at least attacked by everyone in the federation, even I wouldn't have had the balls to accuse Biz of dying to steal Davis' spotlight. You guys scare me sometimes. You're welcome on the Pietka/Davis package and I gotta say cause I know you're reading this, Dave for contributing to the angle idea at Carnage was brilliant and putting your tag partner over is the stuff of true professionalism.
Looks like Davis will be running with the ball this season.

-Frost v Broussard? Going to be interesting since they're in different groups which means to face off at Ringu Faia they both need to win or they both need to lose. Henry Spikes btw off to a great start too if I didn't make mention of his presence, a good GM makes the show but Isn't the show and Spikes is talented enough to do that really well. Frost's personality is pretty solid, he should show more of that, who knew the harsh german had charisma? Kidding, don't Powerdrive me.

-Deathknell beats Broussard. Did not expect that myself but he busted his ass. I realize Deathknell is in a completely new atmosphere despite his past accomplishments but every good fed needs a resident monster/savage/god of the underworld slash 666 Mark of the Beast and it appears this man has just scratched the surface of what he can become. Cool beans.

Spooky Doom.

First off I gotta say Christian has always been a class act with me and the way things worked out he's now in Shootfire Pro and I think that's great. His stuff is entertaining and this truly unique character is one of those sky's the limit type. If all handlers had his passion for the game I wouldn't know what to do. Starting off Season 10 with a couple of promos was a smart idea instead of a match, that way it remained a total secret and trust me everyone whether they admit it or not will be reading his official SPW InRing debut.
Lovely.

Jasy beats Tiffany for the strap. Welcome back to action Laura. Shame she has to drop the management gimmick to Keenan and I didn't expect this outcome either. But I thought that flash was one of the best I've ever seen from Laura, ever. The match was written well and Tiffany always treads that dirtiest player line well but so does Jas. I love past v present storylines and this puts Lane in the title hunt and with who else I know will have an interest in this fight, but I'm not going to say you'll just have to tune in. A title switch really puts the focus back on the Championship.

-AJ Black promo. Yeah, some Minor OOC stuff. I had a lot of fun writing it.

-Davis angle again. Ethan is on fire with his character and will Art get his revenge?? We'll have to see. Exiting the building by being physically carried out will certainly humble Andrew and make him feel sorry for his actions. I wasn't going to let Davis actually Ref the match as much as he wanted to. Great to see that last minute addition with a slam on Volga too into his Hr 2 promo. I'm sure he'll see the error of his ways.

Main event time: I love me some Jason Storm, Van Wild has been on a roll and he's a Superstar who is just flawless in ring. Sammy played the same role he did in the Red Devils matches and HJV had so much energy coming from Carnage through now I'm waiting to see if Jon's power rankings put him ahead of Sammy. This was basically a strong style match with lots of pins and high impact maneuvers which is a perfect setup for Ringu Faia and what to expect from there. Remember the Storm/Despair match, that was all kinds of awesome. HJV gets the win with the Heart Punch and we fade out capping off in a copy of the ten bell salute.

I was exceedingly happy with the show, I felt everyone involved came off really strong and more than stepped up to claim their time in the limelight. This is exactly what this season is all about and as a team, we can do anything and smash any record that came before. There's definitely a sense of urgency and I admit I actually was excited/nervous prior to release but as Jim Carrey in Lemony Snicket's "An Unfortunate Series of Events" says, "embrace the butterflies."

When SPW comes to Vegas, odds are we can tear down the house once again. Great job kicking ass everyone.

Conquest Thoughts:

Where’s the moment of silence for ‘Lil Biz? Just because he’s a little guy doesn’t mean that he didn’t have feelings. I am surprised that Biz was a custodian. What a crappy job! Especially VVV’s locker room. You don’t want to know what happens in there.

Wait, Owen Cage’s new last name is the same as Adam Cage’s last name. My mind is blown. Good segment with the new name, reminds me of a couple of dudes known as the Old School Heroes.

As a moral person, I despised the Kieran Rae/Serena Black moment of sexuality. Wait, despised isn’t the word. Enjoyed. Maybe that’s it.

As the self professed most ignorant man in Shootfire, I know nothing of Spooky Doom.

As the world’s only Andrew Davis Historian, I’m pretty sure that this is the first time he used a submission to win a match. In ten-ish years. A truly historic occasion. Write it down.

No more Serena? Bitches, man. Bitches.

Good closing to part 1: even though I prefer El Gordito to Volga, liked the showdown.

Part 2:

Not enough Andrew Davis ☺ Glad to see that people are digging his new direction. I may have to see a therapist after getting into his head, though. Writing the part about Biz’s “suicide” was crazy – didn’t think anything of it, then read it back and thought “What the hell is wrong with me?” Lots.

Liked Broussard bumping into Frost, especially Frost’s line “Glad that I am not the only sane person left behind with the saints and monsters.” Wish I had thought of it.

BROUSSARD LOST? HOLY CRAP! I CAN’T STOP TALKING LIKE THIS. IT WILL PROBABLY GET OLD FAST.

Clyde Kennedy didn’t give permission to have his image appear on Shootfire’s programming. What the hell? If I was Kennedy’s handler, I’d be pissed.

Still don’t know anything about Spooky Doom. Just call me the lowest common denominator.

Darkman’s is nice – picking a fight with the wrong dude, but that’s cool. Only problem is the phantom of the opera setup – is this the underground part of Jamaica’s stadium? Of course, I more than anyone should buy into movie magic…

Jasy O’Neil is from Pittsburgh? I’m routing for Tiffany Lane from here on out.

Who is this AJ Black guy? Talking about Mike somebody?

Poor Art Blake. That Andrew Davis guy is a bastard.

And I stopped reading after that. My word search said that the word “Davis” didn’t appear after that point, so I just assume that Biz’s ghost won the match. Or something.

Would Lil Biz get a 5 bell salute?
