Posted April 27th, 2007 01:31 IP This picture is from Caen (my home town in Normandy).
As for the painting  I must have used some layers of Impressionist + the pattern stamp tool. I hardly ever use the art history brush, I just don't like it as much as the pattern stamp tool (less flexible, I think).
Neal, I bet there will be beautiful pictures for you to take there. And I'm sure you guys could show us some pictures of the place where you live. I bet you too have lots of beautiful old streets/buildings.

Posted May 4th, 2007 04:14 IP This one is from the famous Mont-Saint-Michel. It's a fabulous place and be sure to go and visit it if you ever go to France! It's in Normandy, close to the "border" with Brittany.

| Can't pass up the oppertunity to agree with you about Mont St Michel. We spent the night there this past June. I always stop over when in the Normandy area. The picture is a happy memory and I love the color. Rebecca's & Debby's mother.

Posted May 5th, 2007 23:38 IP Hi Wanda,
I'm glad you like the Mont-Saint-Michel too. I just love that place, although I've never slept there (my hometown is only 2 hours away from it). I hope I'll get a chance to go there again on my next trip to France.
Thanks for your comments too, Andrew and Rebecca.

Posted May 9th, 2007 05:05 IP Neal,
For the Mont-Saint-Michel one, there are lots of steps involved: layer adjustments of all kinds, Nik filters + some layers of Poster edges and Impressionist (Oldmaster).
As for the one of the Vaugueux, you're right, there are some LucisArt layers in there.

Posted May 19th, 2007 21:42 IP Thanks Neal. I hadn't really thought about a tutorial as these involved commercial plugins and I try to stick to tutorials that don't require any additional plugin. I'll see what I can come up with...
I'm trying to write a book with tutorials in French as it seems it just doesn't exist in French at all...

Posted May 22nd, 2007 02:28 IP Well, you won't have to bother learning French for this one.
The tutorial is in English (as are all the tutorials on my website) and is available on my site at :
Tutorials
Sorry but I can't offer it for free, since I plan on including it in the book I'm working on and it took me hours of work....
It's called Watercolor/pen and ink tutorial and it's the last one on the right.
It doesn't require any additional plugin and here's a picture I made with this new tutorial:

This is as close as I manage to get to the picture you liked the best. Let me know if this is worth working on a tutorial...

This tutorial requires Lucisart, Buzz and Nik's filters.
