Posted June 13th, 2007 00:47 IP I was one of the lucky ones. Those pic's are as taken.1 was sunset the other 2 were sunrise.I was also lucky that I picked up my son from school early and went home. Or I would have been stuck 5 klms from home for 2 days. 15 mins is all that would have made things so different.I would have had a child stuck at school. All mobile phones had no coverage. My sister is stuck in her house with flood waters all around her . Thankfully she has a phone. I talk to her each day.We have 50 ships sitting out of the coast at all times and they were told go out to see. And this didn't. We almost had a second one beached.on the other side of the headland in the photo.
Cheers Donna

Posted June 28th, 2007 03:49 IP They are going to try move the ship tonight. The salvage crew have blocked off all the streets within 1 klm of the area. I will have pic's of the salvage attempt. I do think they will have a few goes at it..

Posted October 16th, 2007 13:24 IP really nice images Donna, if i was being hyper critical i would say for you to keep an eye on the verticals on the images. Maybe this was intentional and accept my apoligies if thats the case. On the first of the latest images especially they are falling to the left, nothing a quick crop (maybe having perspective ticked) would not fix before adding your subjects. But nice art effects added.
Neal
ps Donna we ave opened a new section called art for arts sake......(Godley and Cream song in there somewhere). Feel free to add some of your images in a new tread for other forum members to work on and have fun with.

Posted October 16th, 2007 22:40 IP Thanks Neal,
Firstly what is Godley and Cream song I will have to google that one.
Did you mean the blinds in the window or the vertical lines in the photo in general. As the vertical lines were intetional we do a lot of angled photo's here. I did clone out the door in this one before I printed as a poster size.
The second one I did not add her she was really there. The first one I was watching that the pole on the right was straight. But the door on the left is out.
Thankyou Neal for your coments they are valuable to me.
Thankyou Ray I will put the last one into the art section . I will enjoy what anyone can do with here.

The ship was mooved after it being there for 4 weeks . everyone here wanted it to stay . our town is all back to normal with a lot of cars not worth fixing the water did do a lot of damage. If you came here now you would not know that it happened.
